... Why am I feeling so much excitement for this confirmation when we've known about this for nearly a year and a half?

Very excited to see the new opening/ending animations and eyecatches.

Time to watch Shida Naotoshi's Twitter account like a hawk to see if he talks about working on the new Openings and Endings like he did when Dragon Ball Kai first came around.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

I'd love to know if the full flyer/ad confirms anything beyond the fact that this exists and is coming in April.

Great find, Jacob, by the way.

Freaking finally.

If any arc is in need of a good trim, it's this one.

How many episodes do you all think it will be ? the first 2 arcs were cut in half so if they do the same to this one it will be 49 episodes

To me, the only real concern about this is that Yukio Nagasaki is probably the sound director again. I really hope that the music placement isn't fucked up like the Yamamoto score.

I am surely looking forward to the greatest voice actor of all time, Sean Schemmel, returning to his peerless powerhouse performance as Goku. For he is the best and let it be forever known this is how I feel or may I be denied opportunities and not know for four f***ing years.

Sorry, sorry. My bitterness level is maximum.

But seriously, he'll do fine. Kind of looking forward to seeing how the scene where Goku first meets Goten goes in the dub. I'm still not keen on Josh Martin's Buu or Justin Cook's older Dende, though.

2014 is shaping up to be another big one. :D

This'll bring back memories of '09/'10/'11. That excitement of having a new episode to talk about each week is something I've really missed.

Good luck with all the news coverage, VegettoEX and co.

Anyone else think that it'd be perfect to have another movie come out while Dragon Ball's on TV again?

Interesting to note that it's airing almost exactly 3 years after Kai premiered initially, except there's an additional day to make it fall on a Sunday.

So, er, does it mention anything about being tied in with Z's 25th Anniversary?

^ Yes, I'm aware that this post is just a list of thoughts. I still haven't made a Twitter account, you see. I should really get on that.

So, it looks like this is taking Toriko's timeslot, as predicted? Just like Toriko did to Kai back in 2011?

I guess... we got the last laugh?

I am so excited. Finally announced and that means a US release isn't far behind. Can't wait to pop in the Blu-ray and watch this. It'll be great!

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Personally, I've never really eagerly looked forward to the Japanese version of Kai, simply because I think it has already been done well--and, in many instances, better--with DBZ. Since it has already been done well, my interest in the Japanese version of Kai is only a passing curiosity. My real excitement will be when the English dub starts airing.

Having said that, there are three things about the Japanese version I am curious about:
-Is there a new opening theme (preferably sung by Hironobu Kageyama)?
-Is there a new ending theme (also, preferably sung by Hironobu Kageyama)?
-Technically this could be answered with the dub, but...what does the new score sound like?
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."
