A camera pointed at a screen isn't an accurate representation of the artwork created. I much prefer these new videos.

There is a free program called Free Studio by DVDVideoSoft that has a CD ripping software and it's a great program! :)

Alright, nice to know there's been some lovely bitching and behind the scenes gossip then. I'll just address what this very immature situation is about and hopefully it'll clear the air.

I used to upload regularly on YouTube and had a semi-decent sized following of just under 2K subscribers. I stopped uploading regularly around October time with only a few videos thrown in here and there. I don't average a particularly high viewer count nor do I garner that big of a following. I think that information is sorely missed from this silly drama.

I decided to tweet about the competition from my account with the following tweet; 'Finals time for that design competition! Gotta like the video to vote. Be sure to check out the others too. Thanks'. Not 'Please go vote for my work blindly'. I made a point to encourage others to actually look at the competition and judge for themselves.

For whatever reason, a group of you have decided that that's somehow unacceptable based on the fact I once uploaded to YouTube and had minor popularity. Under the assumption that my followers actually give two shits about anime or design competitions, you seem to believe that is somehow 'against the rules', 'abusing the system' or, as Yamiace so kindly put it, 'lacking respect'.

That's inherently wrong. It's simply incorrect and presents an incredibly misinformed view of myself and anyone who happens to follow me. That tweet took my entry from 6 likes to 10 likes before I decided to take it down to avoid further complaints. Those who voted were simply my friends that I actually know. All of which are anime fans, one is even a member of this forum. They were not random followers just blindly voting out of fandom.

What I find so amusing about this situation is that it's absolutely no different from any one of the other entrants posting a Facebook status about it or even tweeting it at friends themselves. If I had 10 followers and had tweeted the same tweet, there would be no issue here. No drama and no incredibly petty insults. Acting under false assumptions and judging based on unfounded information about a damn YouTube channel, I'm suddenly presented as the bad guy for doing something entirely harmless.

Two of my friends tweeted about the nature of the first videos; a camera pointed at a computer monitor, and noted that they found it rather lazy and a poor presentation of the work done. I was in agreement with them and rs_chaosmaster happened to see these tweets and get upset by them. That's understandable, nobody likes to be criticised and especially not on a public place like Twitter. We spoke about privately and apologies were issued and he then took it upon himself to remake the videos. I never asked him to do that nor expected it and the fact he went out of his way for that is fantastic. I should also mention that in the PM, he stated 'did I ever message you and say tweeting your video was against the rules, no". For that reason, I'm somewhat confused as to where this negative attention has spawned from.

All tweets are deleted, the voting is reset, and I won't be making any efforts to push this competition whatsoever. Unfortunately, the immature ones amongst you have taken it upon yourself to actively vote brigade another person's work. I was very aware that a certain entry had 10 likes minutes after upload, prior to the video even being posted here. Very disappointing behavior to say the least and incredibly hypocritical considering the reaction to what you've accused me of.

That'll be all I have to say on this. If you want to continue with petty jabs and comments based on false assumptions then, by all means, go right ahead. Very disappointing to see members of this forum result to acts like this.

Best of luck to everyone and, of course, big thanks to rs_chaosmaster for all the work he's put into this competition. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say I'm thankful for giving the community such an awesome opportunity to win some cool stuff.

at what point did i state anything about you tweeting the video? i really could care less, what i do find disrespectful are comments saying how his "videos sucked" and "free stuff is free stuff" the guy is clearly very amateur/new at making videos and doesn't need jackass comments made simple as that

That post addresses not just you but those who've made comments about it over the last few hours.

My opinions on twitter are unfiltered, hyperbolic and were made between friends. They weren't directed at him and while, yes, they were rude, they've since been clarified and cleared up. Myself and rs_chaosmaster seem to be fine now as far as I'm aware. I even offered him some advice on improving his videos and he seemed grateful; stating "i didn't even know how easy it was to make videos well". I'm confused as to why you're so offended by this despite this being firstly, nothing to do with you and secondly, already dealt with.

But that's the point I'm making. Your friends liking the video are no different to what mine were doing and I was merely pointing out the irony of the situation. You don't get a single accusation because nobody has assumed you have a 'following' of some sorts. It's just an absurd situation and I'm just a bit upset and dumbfounded by this reaction.

How do you know people haven't accused me? I don't even know that to be honest with you I don't even care anymore, I'm not going to argue over something so silly.

Bit of a non-response but okay. I do agree with the last part though; you're right, it is incredibly silly and I'm not sure I have any interest in being a part of a competition where the levels of tact and maturity are really this low.
rs_chaosmaster wrote:Like for one how do all these videos have more likes than views i don't understand it at all?? LOL
YouTube 'likes' process instantly whilst views take a lot longer to appear correctly. It's why you see many popular views stuck at '301+' views while having thousands of ratings. It just takes YouTube some time to update.

To tie things into that initial response; I'm withdrawing my entry. Petty internet drama isn't my thing and attracting the attention of the people I've unfortunately had to deal with today is far from ideal. Best of luck to yourself and thanks for being one of the few to stay mature throughout this.

Oh come on lets just get back to a fun and fair competition reuploading the videos reset everyone which was completely fair!! I don't want anyone dropping out for stupid reasons. Its obvious that the youtube viewers on my channel are pretty impressed with all the entrys. I won't be able to give everyone a keychain because of some ****ing scamming POS website but, i still have other ideas as compensation so that everyone wins no matter what. Haven't quite figured it out yet but as stated in this forum before, I am a big proponent of win-win situations.

i also agree that it is pointless carrying on this, but your a fine one to throw the term maturity after the comments, also i didn't know it had been sorted as i haven't had any contact with rs over that i only saw the tweets earlier today
anyway back on the topic it's a real shame about them key chains a website to defo avoid there!
