You really like Lord Slug over Battle of Gods? A poor rehash of Piccolo Daimao and 23rd Budokai Tenkachi Piccolo over a movie that has a original story for once. Not to mention Bio Broli is consider to be the worst DBZ movie out of the 14 films we have. I know it's your opinion but I find it odd. It would be like someone saying Star Trek V and Nemsis are better then the JJ Star Trek films, Jason X is better then the original Friday the 13th movie or saying Indiana Jones 4 is the best in the series.

I beg to differ. But obviously that is your opinion and you're just expressing it as fact. Dead Zone, Lord Slug, Broly series, Cooler series, Bojack, Wrath of the Dragon >>>>> BOG.
I think the only good DBZ movies were Dead Zone, (the first) Broly and Fusion Reborn. Most of the time the films are rehashes of whatever was going on in the manga/anime with a pretty predictable plot and no character growth. The best overall movie was probably movie 12. Great animation, more original then some of the others and it at least had that touching moment where Vegeta cries in Hell. But it still rehashes Buu. With janemba being dumb and fat first then a slimmed down, non-talking demonic version of himself.

Battle of Gods may not be better then that film, the only one I'm willing to say is better then BOG... but BOG does introduce new characters with a more Toriayma like sensibility and more originality. Beerus alone is one of the best characters in all of Dragon Ball. IMO, of course.

I too share this opinion. I don't like BoG at ALL. I already posted why. Here's a quote
I'm actually a HUGE fan of BioBroly for bias Goten reasons. He was treated like a star not as a sidekick of Trunks. The plot is actually good IMO. I think it's a bad rep because the name Broly.

I like Bio Broly but Goten fans being so fucking passionate about Goten is kind of weird.

The same way Vegeta fans are passionate about Vegeta? Don't see a problem here.

I hate Bio Broli because I think it's a bad movie in general. The movie was boring and Bio Broli himself is unoriginal. Even as a stand alone character, I hate him for being so dull, ugly and is killed by the worst cliche in the book. Kid Trunks is 10X more annoying then he was in the show and #18 feels so out of character through the whole movie. They could have done something really cool with the bio warriors idea but the whole movie was poorly put together. It's fine if you like the movie but I don't see how it's better then Battle of Gods?

Lord Slug is better than bog (mostly on the strength of False Super Saiyan), and Star Trek V is better than Into Darkness with its not-Khan.

There isn't any movie I think its bad and a waste of my time. But if I had to choose the worst DBZ movie, Lord Slug would definitely be my choice.
Don't get the love behind Tree of Might and Cooler Revenge either. Oh well, opinions.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

It's an opinion of course. I liked the following things in BIOB

Characters
Plot
Animation
Story telling

I can't say the same in BoG except the music. I hated the plot, the characters(mostly because only a few was actually relevant and got lines), Beerus, and the story telling. Just wasn't a fan.

I just want to point out that - and I don't know if I'm the only one who's noticed this - this nonchalant attitude Goku adopts has been around since GT. In fact, when I saw this part of BoG, I made a mental note that Goku's reaction to Beerus's threat was in line with how he acted when Baby [Vegeta], Super 17, and to an extent, Yi Xing Long were ready to end his life.

I don't think Bio-Broly is as awful as some people try to make it out to be. Much like GT, a lot of people just pre-determine in their minds it's terrible without making a conscious decision because everyone in the fan community says it sucks. I mean it's still my second least favourite DBZ film but that's because it's really something that would work much better as a one off anime filler episode as opposed to a whole movie. To me Broly's Second Coming (or whatever it's called) is rock bottom for DBZ films, it's just a total snorefest and not an interesting story, at least Bio-Broly had a couple of fascinating concepts. I honestly don't understand all the hate "Lord Slug" seems to get, granted i haven't watched it in years but i remember it being a completely passable movie, not the best, but still good.

Movie 11 was the first fansubbed movie I obtained (well, it was movies 11 & 12 on one tape).

It had every amount of hype going for it based on adrenaline alone and I had nothing to go on from other fans. There's no way it was preconceptions that made/make me loathe that film.

I feel like that one is objectively, honestly, a shit film. Victory by water. 'Kay. It was obviously phoned-in. The fact that Broli, a vapid, vacuous villain was cloned for the purposes of this feature shows how as little imagination as humanly possible was put into writing it.

Victory by water is incredibly unconventional and creative as far as Dragon Ball victory methods are concerned.

Being killed by water is the oldest death trick in the book. Unless you are the Witch from the Wizard of Oz or the Aliens from Signs then dieing from water is usually comes off cheap unless it's writing well enough. Bio Broli just step in the water then he became stone by touching the water. It came off as lazy and stupid in the worst ways as possible in my opinion.

Fair enough. I personally still find it refreshing in a Dragon Ball story, when compared to the amount of Genki Dama kills we're subjected to.

Not to turn this into a "movie 11" thread, but I feel the need to clarify that the real climax of the film was Trunks (refreshingly) using his brain, not brawn, to trap Broli inside the laboratory and seal his fate. "Victory by using your head" is more like it. The 20-second scene of Broli rising out of the ocean was just your average "startle the audience one last time" horror movie trope. The battle had already long since been resolved and the antagonist long since defeated. The idea of using water to harden the chemical spillage even received some build-up earlier in the film. The scene makes perfect sense.

But fans love to take that scene and ruuuun with it as if it was a huge, came-out-of-nowhere part of the movie.

To bring things back to the original topic, I quite enjoy all of the new material we've been getting. These movies/specials could certainly be more polished, but the good overpowers the bad. Fandom is a love of something. Love involves optimism, forgiveness, and the acknowledgement of both the good and the bad in something. Using "hate" to describe my feelings for any of these films is too strong a word.

I like that we are getting new content; but what I'm not liking is the treatment of the protagonists who aren't Goku or Vegeta especially characters prominent in the buu arc who suddenly decide to become disinterested in training and becoming more fodder for the new villain(s) because they're not as popular.

Probably because they became disinterested in training. And it had long been established that if you weren't a Saiyan you were fucked anyway.

Okay, one of the biggest things I supposed I should've highlighted about why I dislike BOG so much is because they're continuously adding to the "Super Saiyan" part of the lore, which is arguably the most popular part of it. They just HAD to add a new SSJ transformation because they knew it would captivate fans. It's as if they couldn't think of anything else and just resorted to that, as something new.

It would've been best if they just ended the saiyan genetic potential as SSJ3. Again, I'm not adding GT to this debate since it was not made by the original author and is kind of its own entity, and is much easier to count as non canon.
