As far as I'm aware, there are no statements about it. It's yet another assumption. A perfectly valid one, but an assumption nonetheless. Given all the statements on Freeza creating his lower transformations because he can't control his power, I could just as easily propose that accessing his full power and his lack of control over it causes his muscles to inflate. Thus training and getting used to it could potentially allow access without the bulk.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:How would that be even possible? Freeza's Full Power Form works like the SSGrade forms, it fills the muscles with ki & amplifies the user's power. Freeza gets stronger because he gets bigger, he doesn't get access to his hidden powers by getting bigger.
It looks more like he abandoned the form because it sucks, as his fight with Goku showed, and he got a new, better form that didn't suck to his knowledge.
So what exactly is this SSGSS?

Re: So what exactly is this SSGSS?
Well, it is an assumption, but partially. We know for a fact that it works like this for the SSGrade forms thanks to the Daizenshuu, and I assume that it works like this for Freeza's (and Kame-sennin's) Full Power form because it looks exactly the same thing, it does exactly the same thing, and it has exactly the same drawbacks. But yeah, in the end of the day, it's just an assumption.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:As far as I'm aware, there are no statements about it. It's yet another assumption. Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. He transformed to one shot Shishami then transformed back.
On an unrelated note this unfortunately never happened either.
Additionally the scene where Gohan and Piccolo sense Freeza on Kamis lookout and Dense and Mr Popo are there didn't happen. Neither did the scene with Tenshinhan and Chiaotzu at the farm.
Makes me wonder if its from an extended edition perhaps.
It didn't happen and it broke my heart.
I am holding out for a "director's cut" ala BOG. There's a Beerus and Whis scene near the climax where it feels like visuals are missing, which felt like another hint that there are scenes that weren't finished in time that are going to be finished and added in if not for the home release than for a tv-aired director's cut.
On hiatus.

I really expect that too. To put the "whether or not Goku has in base Super Saiyan God power" debate to rest.Chuquita wrote:Re: ssjg special effectBullza wrote:Well I didn't understand what was being said because I don't speak Japanese but if there was a scene like that then Gohan wasn't a Super Saiyan in it.

If there is an extended edition I'd hope a portion of the film would be spent showing how Frieza actually trained.
The movie was good but it did feel as though some parts were missing so probably more so than Battle of Gods an extended edition would really benefit this.

Re: So what exactly is this SSGSS?
Just saw this on the SSGSS page on the Dragon Ball wiki.
"When Goku is in the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form he is implied to be at least stronger than Beerus (at 70% power).[1]"
The reference given was from Weekly Shonen Jump #20.
Is this true or just bullshit? I don't doubt that it'd be stronger than Beerus at 70% but I want to know if this is really was implied somewhere.

Re: So what exactly is this SSGSS?
I think they are talking about this page:
The line says Goku "transforms into his Super Saiyan form with a power the world has never seen before", and they are interpreting it to mean the form is stronger than anything we saw in the prior film. So it could be true, but there is nothing outright mentioning Beerus or a power percentage.

Re: So what exactly is this SSGSS?
Seems like the wiki was reaching a bit to make that comment then.
There really doesn't seem to be anything at all to give a somewhat clear indication of how much stronger he's supposed to be. Does he still get 50x stronger going from base to SSGSS if it's him essentially turning Super Saiyan?
The DB wiki also says that according to Whis in this form if Goku and Vegeta teamed up they might be able to beat Beerus, not sure if that's true or not either.

Re: So what exactly is this SSGSS?
That part is in the film. It doesn't specifically state the use of that form (though that should still be the implication anyway). As per Toriyama's script, while Whis is training them at Beerus' temple:Bullza wrote:The DB wiki also says that according to Whis in this form if Goku and Vegeta teamed up they might be able to beat Beerus, not sure if that's true or not either.
- Whis: “You two really don’t get along well at all. If only you teamed up, why, you could even fight on par with Lord Beerus.”
Beerus: “Put a lid on it, Whis.”
Vegeta: “Kheh, I’d rather die than team up with him.”
Goku: “I don’t really mind being friends, but when it comes to fighting, I like to go one-on-one.”
Whis: “Goodness me.”

Heh, Vegeta's considered a friend. X3
Also, Movie 12 echo with Vegeta's 'rather die than--' something with Gokû. X3

I'd love an extended edition which shows how Vegeta became a Super Saiyan God. That really needs an explanation.Bullza wrote:If there is an extended edition I'd hope a portion of the film would be spent showing how Freeza actually trained.

That's a good idea actually. I can understand that it wasn't doing for the theatrical version if they wanted to keep it a surprise but of course by the time an extended edition were to come out everyone would know anyway so it'd also be a good opportunity to show some other characters like Trunks and Goten.

Re: So what exactly is this SSGSS?
Well, given the context of the movie, how could Goku and Vegeta explain to Trunks and Goten they they need to perform the Super Saiyan God ritual again without the two of them asking why they need to do it? I mean, surely they'd think that perhaps another conflict is on the horizon if another Super Saiyan God needs to be created. Or maybe they're just stupid and don't ask any questions.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Why do you think it needs an explanation? I'd genuinely imagine that is how the scenario would play out. It's totally in-character.

Vegeta said in FnF that he trained under Whis with Goku because he didn't want to stay behind Goku. For him to keep up with Goku, he would need Super Saiyan God. So, he just called everyone to make him a God because he wanted to get stronger, and train under Whis.Lord Beerus wrote:Well, given the context of the movie, how could Goku and Vegeta explain to Trunks and Goten they they need to perform the Super Saiyan God ritual again without the two of them asking why they need to do it? Re: So what exactly is this SSGSS?
Yeah, I guess that sound plausible. It just seem so weird in context that Vegeta would have all the Saiyans randomly converge just to make him a Super Saiyan God and then disappear from the plot, until otherwise.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Vegeta said in FnF that he trained under Whis with Goku because he didn't want to stay behind Goku. Hell, Vegeta could have forced them into doing the ritual for him at the end of the BOG party:
- "Listen here. No one is leaving this party until all of you get back into that circle so that I can become a Super Saiyan God too. I'm not about to let Kakarotto become a god and leave me behind yet again!"
