Sure, if you put it that way.

But sometimes the writers of the movies and GT gave Goku tools the canon Goku never had, making him OP and thereby ruining his character. Take a look at the Dragon Fist for example. What sense did that attack make? No one should be able to obliterate much stronger enemies than themselves with a punch, while even greatly amplified ki waves can't do it. And yet they had Goku rely on the attack consistently throughout GT, making it a blatant deus ex machina. Seriously, how much sense did Goku's defeat of Super 17 make? He wasn't even in SSj4 ffs!

You mean the whole heroic justice thing behind his character? Yeah, he displayed his Superman Nature in the movies and GT which is something I don't mind since I grew up following his character that way. Haha, well didn't Goku and Beerus do the same thing in Super? Where they charged up Ki to shape dragons or something? But i get where you're coming from, I believe it was just an attack to look somewhat epic. :p Normal Goku beating Super 17 made no sense, I agree. I enjoyed seeing 18 in the frontlines though.
