Even though they got his expression down, his face looks way too fat and clean.

I still prefer the anime version of that image, it makes Goku look more badass, and he shouldn't really be worried about Frieza, he didn't care if his brother was dead so why would he care for Frieza, who did worse things to him and his friends?

He felt straight pity for the guy. And Goku did care at first with raditz before he betrayed him, just like with Freeza.

Goku gave Raditz a bunch of chances to get away and even released his tail when asked. He just had no choice but to kill him, likewise here he had no choice but to shoot that final Kamehameha, he felt pity for Freeza. This is a beautiful scene and that expression alone says a lot about Goku's character. It's my favorite scene in the franchise.

There were cutted scenes. IIRC the line of Mai saying she has a boyfriend was cutted.
Also where Freeza ask about Trunks, or did I missed that?

Finally, the "special scenes" were not even connected to the movie at all! neither added something valuable to the current plot...

I like how Mai flashbanged Black so that Trunks could escape. Strategy and craftiness is every villain's weakness.

The reanimated Goku vs Freeza had fight choreography closer to the manga than the original anime, it even had the distraught Goku face after he thought he killed Freeza. Not very animation savvy, but even though the art looked great, the animation itself didn't look too impressive. It was cool to see the original battle with Freeza in modern animation, but it felt pretty pointless anyone watching this movie already knows how the Namek arc unfolded, I would rather them have spent more time and effort adding to RoF since the SSB Goku vs Golden Freeza felt pretty underwhelming after the excellent choreographed Z fighters vs 1000 fight or animating the Champa arc in a movie format since that atrocity definitely needs reanimating.

95% of the scenes on Namek were severely lackluster compared to their original counterparts so thank god Kai wasn't a remake cause it would've looked just as bad or probably worse than that.

The animation for the new scenes is great and all but why didn't they use the time and work to expand on the movie itself like they did with Battle of Gods?

I think the BOG scenes were already made but got cut for time while these were made from the ground up for TV and probably an eventual home release.

I can't see them bringing out a Resurrection F Trunks cut on Blu Ray in a few months time. The new stuff was good to watch but really it had absolutely nothing at all to do with the movie itself.

The animation was looking kind of weird at first, especially the transformation, it looked incredibly lazy and some parts even looked like DBS quality, but the fight between SSJ Goku and Frieza was really good in my opinion.

True, they weaved new stuff into BOG's tv airing than they did here, imo.

I actually ended up missing most of the airing, so the bookended new scenes worked out for me, but weaved in stuff would've been better movie wise.

First 10 minutes of the film were pretty cool. I liked that it was more true to the manga with scenes like the Super Saiyan transformation and Goku's expression after he "kills" Freeza. Also, as cheesy as it was, Future Trunks recapping the Freeza arc from a book called "Legend of Dragon Ball" was kinda cool.

I would have preferred these extra minutes of film to have been dedicated to things like Freeza's training, a ending similar to that of the Resurrection 'F' arc from Super and some other stuff. Ah well, I'm not too fussed.
