Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection 'F'"

There are enough people that do not care about the execution but say from the very beginning that it sucks because it is a boring recycling idea. And those are the fans I complained about. The execution complaint fans are different fans.

It's not the concept that sucked, it was how poorly they executed it (and by poorly I mean anyone could pull it better than that)
Uub one-shots General Rildo when Gohan was on disadvantage? Cooler, King Cold shown only on TV without any actual screentime etc.

For me the idea also sucked. Especially when it was stold that the villains get in Hell for purification and never will come back. And also Shelon could bring back bad guys, olny Porunga can do it, Or he was upgraded by Dende?

Don't get me wrong, I like Beerus and Whis.

Although never in hell I would let anyone replace the big DBZ villains by new characters that shown up a year ago in some movie.
Characters that were always there, could stop everyone, but were too lazy to do so.


This is why I want Freeza vs Beerus to happen so much.

It sucked because it was executed poorly. Not because of the idea itself.

It sucked because it was executed poorly and because the idea was poor. If the execution is good, even with a poor idea it can be good, but it will always fall short of a good idea with a good execution.

Toriyama said that this movie is set after BoG, not after the manga, and in BoG, Beerus said that he would wake up after 3 years. So, this movie is most likely 3 years after BoG.

Bacause Goku has gotten a new Gi, I don't really see why would he change twice before EOZ.

We are talking about a 6 years timeskip, and Goku is changing outfits all the time (along with everyone else). So, I don't see your issue there.

I would have no problem with villains coming back, especially because hell in the anime is shown like some sort of prison and that villains are not cleansed right after death. But putting a Z after DB seems to make everything better. Recycling, out of character, power inconsistencies. But once it is not Z it is non-canonical crap that "has more plotholes than anything and sucks". I am sure I will enjoy the movie but this is about fairness.

This will be very interesting and the way i see it play out is Goku leaves Frieza To Vegeta for whatever reason and Vegeta wins of course but decides he's not the same person he was during the Namek arc and let's Frieza go instead of killing him.

Maybe Goku (And possibly Vegeta, if he's not made to be the Protag) are off training with Whis and Beerus (Which might explain Goku's new Gi). Meanwhile, the whole Freeza ordeal takes place elsewhere and Krillin and Yamcha (or Gohan? I can't tell) have to take care of that.

Yeah, the powers... Even if Frieza will become a God somehow, than how can he threaten Beerus of God Goku. Do you realize people, the a fully powered Frieza would loose easly to a novice SSJ Goku wutout God? Toriyama also mentioned that the when the saiyan become Gods their powr will vary based on individual strength, so Frieza shouldn't stand a chace with of without a Godly power up against Goku of Beerus, not to mention Whis.

Then are you sure that they're exactly the same people who are praising Toriyama's idea this time? I fail to see your point here. Anyway, if you dislike such kind of superficial criticisms, you should criticize people bitching about this movie solely because of Toriyama's idea instead.

Yes, the same users. I won't mention any names here. Some of them were also on youtube (actually not even the same user would be necessary but the same kind of people is also enough). As said, this is not just about this topic but several things.

Anyway, if you dislike such kind of superficial criticisms, you should criticize people bitching about this movie solely because of Toriyama's idea instead.

I criticize them for the right reason/the one I want to talk about: People not being fair just because they want to hate something in particular.

Freeza would become >Mystic Gohan then which would still be good for me

But there is low chance for your idea. Of course Goku and Vegeta are going to be present, this isn't M11 anymore. After the success of BoG they wouldn't go down this way.

But in all seriousness, it's been strongly hinted for a while that someone was going to get revived in the 2015 Dragon Ball movie. But Freeza? Hmm... he's certainly an iconic villain in the franchise and certainly the most significant. But villains being brought back to life and into combat have a really bad record. *Looks at GT and Fusion Reborn*

For all we know he could have become dangerously genre savvy and level grinds before taking on the Z-Fighters by going to the weakest universes and killing the weakest God and hijacking his God Ki and then repeats the same process in other universe before arriving in the seventh universe and being unbelievably strong and curbstomps everyone.

Oh, God, I've gone into fanfiction mode.

But yeah, there's gotta be more to this concept of Freeza being back than just for the sake of it.

I think Goku will be training while Vegeta takes care of Frieza cause that will be a great why to have the same character but present him in a completely different way.

In terms of the rest of the cast i think they'll take out his henchmen.

This is my prediction:

Goku’s training with Beerus and Whis.
Vegeta is at Earth.
Freeza gets revived, gets his power-up, fights Vegeta (either one shots him and he gets SSJG later, or he already has SSJG).
Whis/Beerus comes to check Earth while Goku keeps fighting with Beerus/Whis.
Vegeta defeats Freeza somehow

Or something similar to that.

I just REALLY hope that when FUNimation dubs this they don't go back to Young for "Z consistency". We need more Ayres.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Young's good at some roles like Genkai. But, not too fond of her take on Freeza. I probably won't watch it in English if they use her as Freeza and dumb his dialouge down again like "Season 3" Freeza.
