My biggest fear is that I've still got the burning image of what Toei did to Toriko in my head, along with the current state of the One Piece anime, which without the appeal of being based off Oda's source material, comes with very little luster of its own.
Dragonball Super is going to be a huge cash-cow for Toei regardless of how it turns out, as quite simply, it's new and it has the brand name to command top-billing. My remote hope is that the guys at Toei actually care about how many people around the world will watch this show, and have considered how turning out a cheaply-made serial propped up by the tentpole of a big brand name reflects upon their corporate image. This should be about showing the world, and potential foreign investors, what Toei is capable of - not how they're so desperate to boost their profits they will drag a 30 year old property from out of the crates and resuscitate it into a quick boost for their quarterly postings.

But the $5 million dollar budget for RF, while it does seem a little debatable, it wouldn't be surprising if it that was how much it cost as whole to produce and advertise the move.

Was Akira Toriyama even involved with gt? Last time i checked, he only did a couple of drawings. Anyways I heard he has a lot of involvement with this. He's supposed to be writing the story....i think.

The following statement is taken directly from Toriyama Sensei, during an interview he conducted for the Dragon Ball GT Dragon Box:
For GT, all I did was just come up with the title, design the initial main cast and some of the machines, and also do a few images.
This time, he is credited with the Original Story and Character designs for Super.

Regardless of whether you like Toriyama's current art style, he definitely, abusoltely is still million times more talented and skilled as a manga artist than anyone you mentioned here. By being skilled, I mean knowing how to compose panels, consider the direction of readers' eyes, depict fine actions and emotions of chracters, understand human anatomy, etc. All these doujin artists including Toyotaro can do is just very superficially imitating Toriyama's old art style without knowing why he chose to draw such way. I can even point out literaly dozens of amateurish flaws in every page that Toyotaro draws. Preferring them over Toriyama is almost the same as hoping for someone good at Nozawa impression who can't actually act to replace Nozawa just because he/she sounds closer to her voice 20 years ago.
I prefer someone able to draw professional-level manga even if his/her style is nothing like Toriyama's. What I want is a good manga, not a fan art collection book.

This is exactly how I feel. Toriyama's current style might be off putting to some but it is leaps and bonds better than even the best DB fanartists out there. Toyotaro is a a good imitator but it's a little too easy to catch the flaws in his art work. Toriyama is a skilled artist with an excellent understanding of composition and anatomy, not to mention he knows how to set up scene.
I'm not against Toyable illustrating the DB Super adaption, he seems to be suitable for the job. But to say something like "Toriyama's style is like an untalented 5-year old trying to draw" sounds really ignorant. There's a BIG difference between "I don't like his or her's style" to "he's clearly untalented".
