I never said I'm fine with paying this much, I will only buy the base version of the game. Although this pricing looks quite standard nowadays, and didn't Xenoverse 2 season pass cost 30 dollars?AgitoZ wrote:The uproar is season passes in general.emperior wrote:I don't get what the uproar for the season pass is. Nowadays it's standard to pay for additional characters, and considering how polished ArcSys characters are I would say 35 dollars is a good price for 8 new characters. Also, doesn't Xenoverse 2 charge 15 dollars every DLC?
By the way, I'm glad they won't do re-releases like they did with Guilty Gear.
Yes, this season pass is better than the many other games. But that's not going to change people's opinions who already dislike season passes. In particular as publishers seem to plan out DLC way in advance instead of solely focusing on the base game.
Just because you are fine paying over hundreds of dollars for a single game to get the complete experience does not mean everyone else is.

Even $59.99 for the base game is too much. Wait a few months, you can probably buy it on ebay or amazon for around $35 or so. That's how I buy most games in general these days.
Anyone who still spends $59.99 + tax these days must have no idea you can get them cheaper. Places like amazon and Best Buy give huge discounts. We're not in the year 2005 anymore, you don't have to head over to Toys R Us to buy a full priced game anymore.

$25 for just some Music and Announcer Pack?! I am staying far and away from that if that ends up being the actual price for it. No amount of Kikuchi goodness can convince me to buy that.NintendoBlaze53 wrote:So for my fellow Australians, let's talk price.
The base game is $100.
The game + FighterZ Pass is $145 according to Microsoft store.
The Ultimate Edition is $170 according to the Microsoft store.
The collectors edition is $200.
So unless buying a bundle changes prices, the FighterZ pass will be $45 and the Music/Announcer Pack will be $25. The $45 sounds about right but that $25 sounds like WAY too much, it's gotta be an error, that much for just music and announcers seems off.

Just buy the basic edition of the game, new characters will be added later anyway, and you will be able to invidually pick up the ones you would like to play as. Also, you can even buy the season pass later, in case you change your mind and want all 8 of them.

The reaction cycle for this game:
1) A new character is revealed
2) People complain about how worthless said character is
3) Gameplay footage comes out and shuts everybody up

Perfect! I liked the announcement, and I'm satisfied with how they implemented him in the game. More then 50 secs of gameplay wouldn't hurt though... just to bitch about something
Well, there are people out there still complaining about why they put Nappa in, instead of 4 different Goku+Vegeta fusions... yeah, it actually happened.

Wtf... I thought the music and announcer pack would be just a small bonus thing with the fighterz pass... Xenoverse 2 season pass arguably wasnt worth it but the free updates came with heaps of little nifty features like additional music tracks. Bamco have seen the hype around the game and are now trying to nickel and dime everyone because of it.
$170 for an ultimate edition without any statues or physical extras would make this honestly the most expensive game I've ever seen.
Ill be sticking to basic for now I think unless I can snag a review copy. Should be able to find it for $79 with ease come launch.

Either way, I'm sure Gohan and Kid Buu are a shoe-in and will be confirmed eventually.

Also, last I checked the Collector's Edition doesn't include the pass or the pack, so you'd be paying $70 on top of that, assuming those prices don't change closer to launch.
Uggh...I really want to support this game; I was ok with the pass, was thinking about getting a collector's edition. This...this is rough.

I wonder if it's too much to hope for that they'll reveal who's in the commentator pack before it releases.

I don't even know what is. Another Voice over? What does that matter?Simere wrote:I wonder if it's too much to hope for that they'll reveal who's in the commentator pack before it releases.
Also at least for PC a music track is useless since mods are gonna make it so any OST can be used.

Well, it's about flavor; it matters only if you care about it. DBFZ's default announcer is terribly boring to me. I'd rather have a character with a personality from DB's world calling things out.dbzfan7 wrote:I don't even know what is. Another Voice over? In Xrd I have Ramlethal as my announcer because the delivery of her lines highly amuses me, plus she's who I main. When her sister is selected she calls her by her nickname — again, I love the flavor. Sol's has him making a bunch of snide/funny upon character selection; imagining Beerus or Freeza doing the same sounds like great fun to me. A lot of characters do.
Mostly true, but there is a satisfaction in knowing your opponent has to hear the same thing you picked. Assuming their music is on.Also at least for PC a music track is useless since mods are gonna make it so any OST can be used.

Ah well an announcer really doesn't mean jack to me honestly. Also I hear the announcer is Justin Briner. TFS Adult Gohan/Cloud, and Izuku Midoriya from MHA.Simere wrote:Well, it's about flavor; it matters only if you care about it. DBFZ's default announcer is terribly boring to me. Eh I guess...doesn't seem worth it with mods personally for me. Anyone else on console or who wants it can go nuts if they like.
