The mere fact that the movie acknowledges that Artificial Human No. 18 is indeed a strong fighter is enough for me.

At this point I don't care about Goten and Trunks. They dicked their way through Majin Buu, so they'd definitely do it again with Freeza.

Obviously not, I'm not a writer nor a mangaka. I'm not the creator of the series, not the scriptwriter of this film. I'm simply a fan of a very talented artist with a creative mind I can't hope to comprehend, who felt disappointed, expressed his concerns and wrote his opinion on what should have and shouldn't have happened. I'm aware that pointing out mistakes in the work of other people is easy. My opinion will in no way alter the original project and I'm okay with that. There are a lot of projects out there of people re-writing GT in their own way, I just did a similar thing with this film.

Maybe I worded that sentence wrong. I meant that my fixes are not supposed to give people the impression that I can write a better movie; just that I think some things should have been different.

This was exactly what I got from your post, and it is fine to have your view on how things should have been, which greatly differs from original author's one, especially when it is described in such a great way

This basic idea came from somebody else's post a few pages back, but it would have been a pretty cool twist on the story if Goku / Vegeta/ Beerus/ Whis had ultimately not been contacted by Bulma in time and that the rest of the cast dealt with Freeza independently. That would have removed the seeming insanity of Freeza reaching God level in a few months training, while giving spotlight to the secondary cast (of course resulting in Gohan or Gotenks "saving the day"). That probably would have made the movie much less popular overall but would alleviate a lot of the apparent issues folks had with the story.

I'm on a completely different page from the criticisms other folks have, really. I'm primarily annoyed that there's a new Super Saiyan form at all. There's already far too many!

Krillin is an ant compared to #18. He's like a male mouse saying to his female elephant wife that he is off to fight the tiger that is entering the forest and to remain safe. Treating her like she is a slightly stronger female mouse than him doesn't make sense.

As for Goten and Trunks, it even makes less sense. Just not telling what was going on would not prevent them from coming to the fight (and they would want to come) and despite their youth, they would still be more useful than most of the gang there, not to mention that they are now older and more experienced than in the Buu arc.

It makes sense just fine. He/They didn't think Freeza was going to be a serious threat this time. So he told #18 to stay back and let him go take care of it. Not because she wouldn't be useful, but probably because he wanted to go fight instead. And someone had to stay back and watch Marron. It's not a case of "Who's more powerful" here.

For Goten and Trunks, as much as I would have loved to see them, that makes sense too. Again, it's not about who is strongest or would more easily take care of Freeza. The people gathered (Aside from being put in to give some of the old cast glory...because a lot of you can't accept that as reason enough) didn't think Freeza would be a threat, and probably saw this as a chance to have some fun/test their skills. As Gohan said that Goten and Trunks were, as fighters, to prone to do something rash. What that is, I dunno. Maybe it was because they were too strong and would ended everything quickly.

I'm all for immersing yourself into a story. But some of you are so immersed that you can't pull yourselves out for a second to look at the real-world reasons behind some of these decisions.

I agree. I'm gonna wait to see this blue-form myself...but from the sounds of it the form doesn't seem too important. Like one of those "Special Rasengans" Naruto gets at the end of every Naruto film.They appear once and then that's it.

But, meh. I guess we'll find out if/when there's another film.

Wasnt that the part where Freeza was already losing his power/stamina? + I was saying that compared to cell that just got a boost and was in perfect shape unlike Goku that has already fought with Freeza prior to him being shot through his chest unless Freeza never had a moment hurting Goku?

It may very well have been, yet Freeza's punch did nothing to Goku, and after it Goku defeated Freeza by a single Kamehameha. I just don't see him being very exhausted.

I agree that he wasn't in a perfect state, like Cell was, but he wasn't significantly weakened either, because if he was, he would have at least have some slight problems with Freeza, and wouldn't have one-shotted him.

Like I said that part where Frieza's punch was doin nothing anymore is cuz Frieza has reached his limit. Plus On Cell's case he was in perfect state also on guard, he is in the battle field with Trunks and Vegeta, I doubt he would be relaxed like Goku was with Frieza.

Re: new ssj mode

I'm disappointed because I wanted to see more magenta ssjg Gokû (still don't know if he's in the movie. Is he in the movie, Kei or Julian?) and because it may end up that the only difference between ssj1 and beyond mode is the hair color. At least magenta, low power ssjg changes the eyes and the body type.

I'm more shocked as why Trunks and Goten LISTENED to Bulma and Gohan. Even when they sensed Freeza. Besides unless Jaco tells the Z warriors to not kill them. It's more rash that they allowed Freeza men to live.

Besides, I still don't understand the underlying assumption that the characters think exclusively in battle strategy all of the time. Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan are the only ones I would even begin to see as trustworthy for that power. Giving an infant and a couple of pre-teens that power seems excessive and reckless, no matter how good-hearted they are. As for Gohan, he just isn't interested in that sort of thing. The film could toss in a flashback scene of him passing it up and it would fit his character. Either that or he could have given it a shot and just lacked the talent to absorb it permanently. The fact 2 people were able to do that is already somewhat crazy.

Like did Vegeta go around bugging them about it? Was there an actual threat? Was Gokû on his way to leave with Whis, but then Vegeta's all 'no I'm coming too!' and grabs everyone to make the ssjg summoning circle with him?

I think Super Saiyan God only works for pure Saiyans.

The movie still sound really bad... But maybe watching it will change my mind...

But the power levels are just straight up shit... Someone stated being Zarbon level goe toe on toe with Piccolo... Yeah a Piccolo who should be much much stronger as Frieza's ultimate form from Namek.

Instead Gohan comes in and owns that guy... But the same SS Gohan got OHKOed by first form Frieza...

Yeah... The Blue SS God sounds awful and the ending as well
