Just think about it. Piccolo at the Cell arc has been much stronger than Freeza... And there was someone loyal to Freeza way stronger?

Who says the soldiers can't train during the several years Freeza was dead?

I thinks its that with Frieza, Cold, The Ginyu Force and Aka all dead and the organisation going to pieces, Tagoma and Shisami where the strongest warriors that Sorbet had. They have likely been thrown into hard battles again and again just to keep the organisation afloat. Its only natural they would get stronger. Also I dont think Shisami was that strong when Frieza got back, more likely he started training to get stronger so he wouldn't die on earth.

But people, do you remember Vegeta's Japanese voice to say that Vegeta is only concerned by Goku not by Freeza(not that it could jutify anything, but it seems in-character for Vegeta). Though I agree that technique is bullshit, I refuse to stand against it on basis of the Dragon Balls themselves even existing. At least this has limits compared to a bunch of other stuff in the story. It's also a great blessing that it's introduced early in the film, rather than coming completely from left-field.

It's possible that Goku asked him to team up on Freeza and Vegeta refuses because he doesn't want to work together. Beerus comments right after that they're not fighting together, after all.

I get the vibe he probably recognized that it was Goku and Freeza's fight, even if he wanted it (Freeza wanted revenge, and Goku was at the top of the list). He probably didn't want to give it up, but did so reluctantly.

I'd have to actually see the movie to say for sure though (or we can ask one of the two people on the forums who saw the movie to clarify on Vegeta's reaction, that seems fairly logical).

Like did Vegeta go around bugging them about it? Was there an actual threat? Was Gokû on his way to leave with Whis, but then Vegeta's all 'no I'm coming too!' and grabs everyone to make the ssjg summoning circle with him?

The way it's written, Goku offers Vegeta a chance to fight Freeza, Vegeta gets nervous, and says it's not his fight. It may look different on screen, but with the information we have now, Vegeta chickens out until Freeza power rapidly diminishes while fighting Goku.

I mean, if it turns out that I'm wrong, I'll happily eat my own words. I've done it before. But as it stands now, with the information we have, that seems like the most logical explanation.

Now the question: Is Goku now too weak that he can't take a weak ki blast when he doesn't defend? Or the plot sucks?

None of those examples show someone being caught off-guard.

While he wasn't expecting to be hit by that specific bullet, he was at least on guard in that situation. Bullets have already been established to not have any effect on Goku's body from the very first chapter of Dragon Ball, even without much formal ki training.

Because the two aren't mutually exclusive. It can be both a matter of pride and fear. One doesn't exclude the other.

Weather you agree on how it was done is up to you but the fact is : Vegeta defeated Freeza and made him kneel before his greatness.

Greatness of pussing out once Freeza proved to be strong, and like a coward said Goku can fight instead. Greatness of only fighting once Goku did all the work of weakening Freeza to the point he can't even defend himself. Greatness that still fucks up with such a huge advantage over Freeza. That kind of greatness is the equivalent of someone kicking the shit out of a UFC star after he was mugged, shot, and stabbed repeatedly. In the end that person looks like a fool if they think their hot shit by beating up a wounded foe.

If any other character did this, I doubt you'd call it greatness. It's pathetic. Where the hell was saiyan pride on this one? I didn't know saiyan pride was "Cower to stronger foes" "Fight only when stronger foe is greatly softened up for you" If Vegeta was such a badass he would have taken up Goku's offer and fought Golden Freeza at full power. But no he cowered and let Goku do it. If he was such a badass, he wouldn't feel so good kicking the crap out of a wounded foe. What's saiyan pride if you beat your enemy when they're not at their best?

vegeta is good in this movie. He has managed to have the same power and transformation Goku. Vegeta saves Goku of Sorbet´s rings, Goiku beat for a ring is also ... and Goku saves Vegeta, but the lesson is: both need learn to fight together

It is something that happens in forum Spanish, French, American ... I like Goku and vegeta but I really liked kid Gohan, but Toriyama shredding the character, Toriyama NOT Vegeta

Vegeta had good power wise and character moments with Goku.....shining wise, I don't think he was that great.

Gohan can't be a problem if he was never relevant to the movie's story to begin with .
