Admittedly 'current dub fans' is a little too general. I've got my nostalgia for the FUNi cast so aren't I a dub fan because I like listening to the dub with the Kikuchi score? You phraseology implies otherwise, but I'd prefer to give you the benefit of the doubt that by 'dub fans' you mean 'fans of the American score previously the only option available' or whathaveyou.

But now Funi had two different dubs for their show. So what did they do? They dubbed over the stuff that the Ocean cast did before they got popular and erased them from existence in relation to Funi's version of the show, pretty much.
So what would be wrong by Funi erasing the Falcouner score from their dub.
Because it's pointless, since it's not bothering anything and all they have to do now is add an alternative to it. The Ocean dub is in the past now anyway as far as Funi is concerned and there's nothing Funi can do to bring it back since it'd be headscratch-worthy, so who cares about it?
Actually it's distracting from a presentation closer to the original if there's a second score for somebody to be duped into thinking is automatically better because it doesn't sound like old 80s music.
It could either be because of nostalgia like JulieYBM said or because the re-dubs are really just that bad. I can't tell myself but I know I don't like the re-dubs of those movies at all. Even with the original music.
Actually, it's the script that bugged me the most. Movie Three's script is pretty terrible and changes lines pointlessly.

Maybe someone high up at Funi got pissed off at Faulconer? It's no secret that he's kind of a dick...

Well, admittedly they changed the cast likely for financial reasons. Not to mention considering the current industry, I'm sure I'd kill whoever tried going back in time and preventing FUNimation from making the decisions they made at that time.
I think the decision to make the default track on the season sets the track that they did was a sign that the original music is rightfully the score that their dub should be associated with. FUNimation's now runned by Watson and his cohort anymore, it's runned by the same guy who brought together the fan-loved YYH dub, Justin Cook (and one Ms. Carly Hunter, whoever she might be).

He's been gone from Funi since 2003. Don't you think they would have also removed his score from the Season sets if they were still pissed?

Now you're just mixing your opinion with things.
Hell, I loved the Ocean Dub for the first 3 movies, and yet I'm still saying it probably will never be released by Funi again.

I'll need to check eventually if those are accurate. I could have sworn they changed the beam struggle's dialogue, but I am not completely sure.

That's even more of a reason to keep the Faulconer music on there. Everybody has their own opinions and having his music on there is the best way to please everybody. When the Orange Bricks came out something like this wasn't even an issue because everybody could just pick whatever they wanted to hear. We had options!
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

Faulconer's team did more than twice as many episodes as the Johnson team did. I don't think they would have wanted to pay for a new score for 230 episodes.

Goku yelled "YOU CAN'T WIN!" instead of "KAIOKEN TIMES FOUR!" but otherwise, the script is the same as the Ocean dub's.

Not to mention the fact that in the other thread he said HE didn't want the Ocean dub on the first 3 films, not that Funi wouldn't do it. He's being deliberately obtuse with his current arguement because he sounded like a hypocrite after being so indignant that subbies were calling for the exclusion of the Faulconer track from the DBOX, and then he turned around and did the same to the Ocean dub just days later.

Several years/generations from now--after dropping the 'dub score'--the entire debate is likely to become as mainstream as the Ocean dub itself in the United States, so why not kill two birds with one stone by dropping it now?

After FUNi re-dubbed the first two seasons, a lot of people forgot about the Ocean dub and when it was brought back to their attention they said it sucked and that FUNi's was better even though people were saying just the opposite at the time the cast change took place.
I think the same would happen for the music if it were given the chance to be the only music track. Except for 4Kids garbage, replacement music is so Dark Ages for anime.

It's possible to not word things right. Or posting from your cell phone and have a character limit you have to appease to.
Do you just not like me and will bring this up in every single argument now or something?

Also Goku's "I'll fight as long as my body holds out!" was changed to "I'll beat you, no matter how long it takes me!"
Pretty much, some things were slightly reworded, but nothing was really changed...

They might as well keep the Funi dub as it was. You guys say all the time, "I want the show to look like something from 1989, not 2009."
I want my dub to be like something from 1999-2003, not 2009.

when did this thread turn into the jjgp hate fest. It feels like the Sonic board in 2004 all over again

Whats the likelyhood that funimation uses the audio from the dbox masters and reproduce their jap bgm dub?

Nah, more recently, really. Like, asking for an obscene amount of royalties for the bricks or something... I dunno. Just theorizing.
