To be honest, look how many arcs/sagas we had in U7 from Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball Z. I realize that Universes wasn't a thing at the time, but I hope Universe 6 is fleshed out just like the 7th. If that's the case, the other Universes could be spin-off series. I know a lot are apposed to it, but I'm open to the thought of a new cast of characters not focusing on the Saiyans. I'd give it a shot at least, I owe that much.

Yet the manga ended after they only traveled to one planet. Dragon Ball was never a "world exploring" series, and it didn't always explain how things work in its world.

I'd love Super to continue after the U6 arc, but it's not like it is necessary for it to go beyond. During the U6 arc, we could learn all the necessary information about the other universes during that arc, we could see a few guys from other universes, and could have the final villain a guy that is the strongest in all 12 Universes.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

If it is one of them which I doubt, it will be vados.
I wonder if it's simply coincidence that Vados' color scheme (and face type) is almost identical to that of Towa ....
I hope it's awesome whatever it is.
Didn't know there was a big announcement on the way. Maybe another movie? This time with the tournament part of the story?

I'd guess it was a video game announcement especially as its been about 10 months since Xenoverse came out and we haven't heard squat of a follow up.

Just as long as its not a portable game.

I think it's either Xenoverse 2 releasing in the second half of 2016, giving it a 1&1/2+ year dev time, considering they have a solid base to build off of I think that'd be a good time table, or a new movie that takes place on Earth during the events of the Universe tournament and or the Universe 6 arc(we still don't know if there is a distinction yet). Both make a lot of sense, Xenoverse was a surprising hit and it makes sense to strike while the iron is hot, and BoG and F both did really well and with Super doing merely okay it would make sense to do a new "canon" movie to bring in some extra money and try to drum up some hype for the show.

I wonder if they do new films whether they'll be called "Dragon Ball Super" or "Dragon Ball Z"

Probably either Super, because that's the current running show and it'd be good for promotion, or possibly just "Dragon Ball".

Z is more recognized internationally so they'll probably go with that.

Puffy nipples guy is the last member of U7 team. What a fucking letdown.

Oh my god
U6 Saiyan looks like Ultimate Gohan, but with different eyes and eyebrows and a kid like appearance.
Purple Cell, Freeza race character, Winnie The Pooh and the Iron Giant, scaled down.

Can't wait to see this in the anime.

Freeza,Cell&Buu didn't look like much before they began to transform so just give him a chance to show off his true power cause chances are this is just a cover up design.

I'm a bit mixed on those character designs, they're pretty weak for Toriyama. The 5th warrior for U7 is awful.

Buff Winnie the Pooh?

I like the robot, the Frieza guy and the one in the middle though.

I love the Universe 6 team, they look great. I'm gonna hold off on judging the last Universe 7 guy since I feel like he has a transformation.

Disappointed in all the designs except Battle!WinnieThePooh. ^^;

No female fighters. The one saiyan is a kid. Ultra disappoint. :(

Ah well, there's Gokû and Vegeta training in a Room of Spirit and Time, so...

Also, I pity Funi when comes to Nipples over there.
On hiatus.

They'll likely grow on us, I know there were plenty who didn't like the purple bunny Beerus at first.

That Saiyan looks like Tarble a little bit.

The Icejin looks pretty manly compared to Frieza, he looks like how I'd imagine Cooler would look in his first form.

Similar with DB Super, I don't follow the manga either but I admit curiosity got the better of me so I wanted to at least see how the teams look. I honestly thought Buu alone already fulfilled U6 team's goofiness quota and I so do not like how the last guy looks. Honestly, getting tired of the looks funny but is actually super strong trope.

NotFreeza, the saiyan and whoever that other tall guy is look impressive enough and I kinda like their design. Really surprised we didn't get a female saiyan though. I seriously expected it.

I hope I'm just being pessimistic , but I don't expect much now anymore and I'm honestly scared with what they'll do with Piccolo. Him giving up against the Kaioshin left a bad taste in my mouth back in the day and I don't want to see him get ridiculed or replaced by Gohan , as his current absence might seem to indicate.

So the written test thing was basically set up for absolutely nothing then? Okay...

So what combination of Mystery Guy, Boo and Piccolo loses here? You know the two golden boys ain't jobbing.

How do you think the fights will go ? Going by the picture we might get something like this :

Beerus' friend will win against the robot then lose against Whinnie the Pooh.
Then Buu will fight Pooh and win then Lose to Freeza 2.0.
Then Piccolo will fight Freeza 2.0 and win then lose to the Saiyan.
Then Vegeta will fight the Saiyan and win then lose to the Purple Piccolo.
Then finally Goku will fight and win against him.

So we could be looking at 9 fights for the tournament.

Wow! This all looks like a riot. I'm getting so many early manga vibes. Bulma and Jaco having to kiss the cheek of Zuno for information. The 5th guys having his main characteristic being his puffy nipples.

I'm so curious about what's being said, even the Galactic King makes an appearance.
I'm liking all of the opponents designs, except the Piccolo look-alike without antennas. So we have a Saiyan and a member of Freeza's race. Should be interesting.
