Because it would be devastating to my childhood!

I think the same would happen for the music if it were given the chance to be the only music track. Except for 4Kids garbage, replacement music is so Dark Ages for anime.
You're probably right but come on man! A lot of us grew up watching this stuff on Toonami! Monday through Friday! With the Faulconer music! You guys are getting the default track with subtitles! What more could you guys want? A lot of you fans of the original don't even watch the dub in the first place! That would be like Funimation putting dub music over the Japanese track a few years ago when they were still releasing singles.

I want my dub to be like something from 1999-2003, not 2009.
Exactly.
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

If we're all here for a reason then I'm just visiting.

If it's held in your heart then you can't let go.

He's been gone from Funi since 2003. Don't you think they would have also removed his score from the Season sets if they were still pissed?
Nah, more recently, really. Like, asking for an obscene amount of royalties for the bricks or something... I dunno. Just theorizing.
I think that all of the work that he did for the dub is Funi's property as well.

Between 1999 and 2003 a lot of stuff was coming out with it's original Japanese music track.

Stop being a baby. We don't hate you. We're better than that.

If three audio tracks can fit on there, by all means have the Malaysian English dub for all I care. I'm only discussing this from the point of, "If you had to choose one or the other." And, if that turns out to be the case, I say that the US BGM should go. Nothing against you. I'm just not gonna choose something I don't like.

I WANT FUNI'S DRAGON BALL Z DUB TO BE HOW IT WAS FROM 1999-2003

Was that really necessary to clarify?

Bah, that's a thing of the past, we're getting no voice filters and the original score.

Next step is English Theme songs!

I'll repeat again: You guys also want the film to look like something from 1989, not 2009.

I want the dub unaltered outside of necessary changes like giving Vegeta a deeper voice.

Looks more like you changed your stance rather than made it more clear. You said that want it to seem like it was from the 1999-2003 era rather than something made in 2009. In that 1999-2003 era the only two anime I watched on TV that changed the BGM was DBZ. So, I said that DBZ will still look like something from 1999-2003 even if it has the JPN BGM. Now you're telling me that you want the dub as it was on CN during that time. That's very different and much more specific than what we were implying moments ago; not a clarification at all.

And, calm down. No need for giant font or anything like that. This is all still pretty hypothetical right now. You have greater chances than you thought you did last week. You should be happy.

What the hell are you talking about? I didn't change my stance at all. the fact that Chrono Trigger agreed with what I was saying and apparently knew what I meant should what I think about that. I didn't change my opinion at all.

I want the dub to be like it was from 1999-2003 like how you guys want the film to llok something from 1989.

Maybe you should get away from the thread for awhile if it's bothering you that much to disagree about speculative matters that yet to be decided by FUNimation. If this were more concrete maybe I'd understand. Really, though. Go take a breather. It's no skin off'a my nose. I'm more or less bored than anything.

EDIT: Remind me how I drove you halfway insane next time we disagree and I'll leave you alone. I don't feel like causing you to go into a suicidal nerd rage over anime.

Oh no, it mainly just had my brain on the verge of exploding. I wasn't really pissed off.

So I guess I do need to cool off :?

Speaking from personal experience, leave the 'net for a while. Do something else. Don't come back to the topic for a day or two, and you'll save yourself a crap load of stress.

And that's where my short attention span comes into play. It's like a double-edged sword for me. Saves me some stress, but turns me into a slacker, too

This is so true. Remember how bad I was a few months ago. Although not entirely due to the net (College was brutalizing me), any little thing I saw was a slight against me, I lashed out about. It was at the point where I was pretty much hated by everybody around here.

So, I got away. Gave myself a little self-imposed banhammering. Few months later, after I got myself back under control, I came back, apologized for my actions, and right now, I'd say I'm back on most peeps' good sides.

I'm not saying to leave the whole site for months on end or anything, or that you did anything wrong, but a break, at least for a day or so, will do you a world of good.

jjgp1112:

I totally know where you're coming from. I mean I grew up with the dub music and voices. Only recently did I get into the Japanese cast.

Regarding the FUNi Dragon Boxes, I really wanted them to have all 3 audio track, but if I had to choose I would rather have the dub with JPN score. My reason for this is because we pretty much have 2 releases that have the dub score. If I ever feel like being nostalgic ill just go back and view one of the season sets or singles.

I would consider myself a hardcore fan and I would be more than happy to have Japanese and English voices, all with the original score. I enjoy both versions and I realistically think these Dragon Box sets should have just those 2 options.

I would encourage everyone to watch DBZ with Japanese audio and subtitles. They really do do a great job. plus, isn't that really the "way it was meant to be seen"?

Anyway, I guess I'm just trying to say it's a shame that there are 2 different things that people want out of these sets. I guess we can only wait and see eh?
"hmm lets see.....nope, I don't have any Jewish candy"
