That same problem happened with SSJ2

I haven't seen the movie, but I'm 99.9% certain that it plays over the end credits. That's where the theme songs of movies tend to go, y'know?fadeddreams5 wrote:When does that girl group's song play?kei17 wrote:I watched the movie again and noticed an instrumental version of 'F' playing when Goku starts fighting in the new form.

There was zero concept behind Toei coming up with the idea of SSJ4 except, "We need a new transformation to keep the Saiyans on top." Hell, that's been for every SSJ transformation introduced after the first one.GoldLiger wrote:Thoughtless over thought then. Why is it thoughtless for someone to have an opinion? Some of the things you say really do baffle me.
In regards to this new form, there doesn't seem to be any marketing or promotion of it at all from the official side of things. SSJG got press, Golden Frieza got press, but there's literally no mention from it outside of fandom/viewers. I wonder why that is.

No it hasn't. Ssj2 was not introduced like that. Ssj2 was Gohan rage fully brought out. Full power if you will. It wasn't a form beyond SSJ. It was just Gohan rage mode. And SSJ3 was introduce as a plot device to stall Boo. It's the least useful Ssj form.Lord Beerus wrote:There was zero concept behind Toei coming up with the idea of SSJ4 except, "We need a new transformation to keep the Saiyans on top." So no none of forms was a there to keep Saiyans on top.

It may have been extremely simple reasoning for why we got a new form, but it's totally inaccurate to say there was zero concept behind coming up with the specific form we got. We have the interviews from Nakatsuru in the Golden Warrior artbook saying the contrary.Lord Beerus wrote:There was zero concept behind Toei coming up with the idea of SSJ4 except, "We need a new transformation to keep the Saiyans on top." The hairstyle and red fur all over the body are what really makes Super Saiyan 4 stand out.
The thought behind that hairstyle was to take it in a different direction than Super Saiyan 3, and make it wild. I made the fur red because it pretty much just seemed strong; I place a lot of importance on those sorts of impressions (laughs). Right from the planning stage images, the idea had been to bring together Oozaru Goku and Super Saiyan Goku. “Goku with primal power”, that sort of thing.
So that’s why his entire body is covered in fur. In addition to the final design, were there any rough designs?
There was no design besides the single final draft. It was just that with the colors, and I also made a gold-haired version. However, I thought that black hair looked better, and decided upon that version. The combination of black and red is a more dynamic color scheme.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
Piccolo/Kibito could create clothes with their Ki why Goku couldn't? And the fur it's because the transformation was came after Golden Oozaru, it's not the same line of transformations (SSJ 1-3), I guessfexus wrote:Do you know what I like about SSJ4? The fact that they got pink fur and suddenly got pants. I love that. Just thinking about how they must have grown the pants using their own hair is just amazing.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
I imagine they were hoping to catch viewers off-guard. Golden Freeza was almost a given, as without a power-up of some sorts, he wouldn't logically have any chance against our heroes.Wilderness wrote:I wonder why that is.
Battle of Gods needed something to draw viewers in and Super Saiyan God was absolutely it. They then caught viewers off-guard by having Goku lose. I imagine the Blueper Saiyan is to be considered this film's 'twist'. You could argue Whis' time mechanic is, but the summary makes it sound like that's fairly well established mid-film, so it's not a particularly surprising turning point in the end.
As much as Toei loves to spoil things in their marketing, I think this is something they'd prefer to keep under wraps. I'm glad for it; I'm sure it's going to be a great moment.

Could you all make a new thread or go to one of the existing "SSJ4 vs SSJG" threads. It is at least vaguely connected when you are talking about the blue-haired Super Saiyan, but it has gotten really off-topic with the "well, the inspiration behind ssj-n is this, and it is obviously superior because of n trait." Also, you shouldn't be dismissing each other's views and claiming other's thoughts invalid when you:
1) aren't a supreme authority over this extremely subjective debate.
2) are likely using "invalid" to mean "wrong in my eyes" rather than "extremely poor or misguided argument".
So, just keep in mind that this thread is for discussion of the new movie, and to be respectful. It prevents flooding and makes the thread fun to read.

Super Saiyan 4 is a Primal form!? Hell yeah, "Primal" would have been way cooler than anything else, I liked it a lot that name.
Never saw this interview, but I liked what Nakatsuru said there, well, that is totally expected and I couldn't expect less from the best animator/worker at Toei Animation.
Holy fuck, I want to see his golden version of Super Saiyan 4.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
It's the same argument that applies to any kind of artistic design. If you can't tell the difference between 2 version in black&white then it's probably a good hint to go back to the drawing board because you didn't actually design anything new. Case in point - the picture Big Momma posted on previous page. If you showed it to casual fan or non-fan, they could never tell if this is suppoused to be normal Goku or SSJG Goku.Baggie_Saiyan wrote: Sorry but what the hell does that have to do with anything? There is no Manga anymore and never will be. Pointless argument.
Fiery aura would look the same in manga format as prettymuch any other aura. Slimmer body won't be even be noticeable in most shots due to angle, cropping and the fact that it is VERY small change in body size.jcogginsa wrote: Fiery Aura and slimmer body distinguishes it.
So when not-Toriyama does we hate but when Toriama does it - fresh new clothes out of nowhere for fusion - we love it? Frankly, the clothes are hardly even important here. They could be wearing any kind of clothes and SSJ4 design would still be unmisteakable.fexus wrote:But getting pink fur and pants is. I bet there was a legend about a pink Oozaru wearing pants rampaging on planet Vegeta.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
You can probably find fan art of it all over Google but I think the colors they went with make it look a lot better than all gold or all brown & black. SSJ4 is pretty much what I always thought of as "the Ultimate Super Saiyan" transformation and I'd love for it to somehow get incorporated into the new movies but.... no chance of that happening.Dyno wrote:TheDevilsCorpse wrote:The hairstyle and red fur all over the body are what really makes Super Saiyan 4 stand out.

When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

I don't care at all to random fanarts, like those who appeared when "Super Saiyan God" was announced. I want to see a real version of it, if it exists. Of course Nakatsuru's version of Super Saiyan 4 colored with gold is beyond imagination better than those mere fanarts.

Actually looking at the picture you can tell pretty easily, different eyes and hair. It is day and night. Also why only show to "casual" fan or non-db fan? That more or less means you yourself can see the difference , so why argue?Basaku wrote:It's the same argument that applies to any kind of artistic design. I had the geniousest idea ever. People who draw fanarts, plz make a Super Sentai-esque picture with all forms of Super Saiyan. Each has a different color, normal Super Saiyan is yellow (could be Gohan or Goten), Legendary Super Saiyan is green (Broly of course), Super Saiyan God is red (Goku), blue Super Saiyan (Vegeta), then you can make either Baby Vegeta's white Super Saiyan hair or Gogeta in his SSJ4 form.
