We do know Toyotaro make changes to the outline, because Super Saiyan God is there. If it was in the outline, I doubt Toei would just omit it. The same when Goku used it against Future Trunks. And Toriyama encouraged Toyotaro to make his own changes.

And, as I pointed out, Toyotaro made changes to the Resurrection 'F' script, both to condense the story and he added his own stuff, while Toei kept more true to the original script.

The point is that until we actually see this outline, we can only say that whatever is in both version was in it. Everything else it people talking out of their butts.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

Its this simple really:

If you like the manga more then accept as canon .

If you like the anime more then accept it as canon.

you guys don't have to argue with each other which one is more official just like the one you like and enjoy more and accept it as canon.

That's what I said in another topic and it's the most correct viewpoint. Also, one thing that someone must not do is trying to merge the anime and manga, both are different from each other and follow their own rules; Toei's Dragon Ball Super is a thing, Toyotaro's Dragon Ball Super is another. That's simple as it is.

If Toriyama says that future Bulma have to die by Black she will die in both the anime and manga by black. The problem arrives when for example Toriyama doesn't mention HOW she will die. So he gives them a free roll to fill that gap. So we have to different ways she died but the outcome is the same: future Bulma is dead.

This is what Toriyama said :
Like last time, I write an outline of the entire plot, then the script writers break it up into episodes, expanding on things, changing things around, or adding in new bits as need be.
It's a Toei show. They decide where it goes. Toriyama is not against changing some of his own ideas, and he is also fine with Toei expanding concepts and developing characters further than they are in the outline.

It is very unlikely that Toyotaro has access to all the changes and episodes scripts. Therefore it means what is in the anime might absolutely be a true part of the story, while what is in the manga exclusively is made up by Toyotaro, who is entirely irrelevant.

It's not about what "you prefer" as canon, Super is a Toei show, not a Toriyama story, his outline is meant to serve as a guide for Toei, they work together. The anime is the culmination of their efforts. (For the arcs he did write, aka Tournament and Trunks)

Toriyama leaves some holes to be filled on purpose, the anime does a good job at doing that. The manga on the other hand does an awful job at it, but the blame might be on the production schedule.

It's both, they aren't mutually exclusive. They are following the story Toriyama provided them.

How many different writers does the anime have? Was it 4?

The show has 5 episode writers (Yoshifumi Fukushima, King Ryu, Yoshitaka Toshio, Makoto Koyama, Atsuhiro Tomioka)
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

Oh I see. Did that Tomioka guy step in for Koyama because he hasn't done one for a long time.

Sadly this is true. We don't need Gohan to be as powerful as Goku and Vegeta but at least be more relevant and get more involved. Kind of like how Krillin was in DBZ except for the buu arc. He did stuff got in some fights got killed here and there and knew he never stood a chance but at least he did things. Hell even now I think Krillin has done more than Gohan has in DBS.

Which honestly disappointing. Gohan in the movies and retellings had relevance. They even gave him some character development in the ROF arc, and then suddenly nothing. He basically disappears from the show. Strange as hell.

I mean in all of Z he was important to the story from the very beginning and even in GT he wasn't at the level that he is at now. Hopefully considering recent events in the show he gets involved or maybe even for the Universe tournament arc if we ever get it. He could just be a dad fighting to protect his family or even get him involved with Bulma on creating something. I'm sure it would be hard to focus on all these characters at once but they use to do it before hopefully the writers can figure something out.

Super has to many writers for those small details. One write does like this in one episode, one does like that. They contradict each other. And it annoys the hell out of me. This is why i never liked comic books.

I could say its Toriyama's fault for not caring what the details are.

About on par with em I'd say. Like father like daughter to be unimportant. Though she has the excuse of being a toddler at least.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Sorry for bringing this up again, but it's hilarious, so I want to go through it.

57 : The Immortal God, Sasa Zamasu.
Already inaccurate title. Also, sasa...
58 : The death of Goku and Vegeta.
Oh yeah? You think Super has the guts to do that? Also absolutely inaccurate, but still. :P
59 : Desperation! Trunks back to the past again!
There is a chance of this actually happening. In the context of Fake Episode 58, though, no.
60 : Help the sixth universe, called New Warriors!!
Buzzwords and contentless title. This really means nothing.
61 : New generation Training
While it is a neat idea and should happen some other time, Super is not displaying a wish to do that. It sounds to me like the "leaker" was going for Blue Gohan, by the way.
62 : The apocalyptic future sasasa Zamasu and Black.
Buzzwords and sasasa. "Sasasa"? Really?
63 : The secret of Namek book?
The Namekian Book of Legends is a neat plot device, but I think that if they wanted a Mystic Piccolo (with god ki) they'd have hinted at it by now.
64 : Traveling to the distant past, in search of the Legendary Super Saiyan
HERE WE GO TO EPISODE OF BARDOCK, BOYS.
65 : The man with a scar ?!
AND THERE HE IS. Any Dragon Ball writer (this includes everyone from Toriyama himself to most respectable fanfic writers) knows that canonically Bardock did not go to the past and transform. Dragon Ball Minus even made his story less epic than in the TV special. It's not gonna happen.

No, Toyotaro only expands on Toriyama's outline, and Toriyama encouraged him to add more of his ideas, not to make changes. Toei omitted Super Saiyan God from the BoG arc finale, so who's to say they didn't do the same in the Universe 6 & Future Trunks arcs?

As for the FnF manga & the BoG arc of Super, these are different things. They were intended to promote the movie & series respectively, and they were designed to be smaller versions of the originals. The Super manga starting from the U6 arc, however, is designed to be a complete, expanded adaptation of Toriyama's outline.
The point is that until we actually see this outline, we can only say that whatever is in both version was in it. Everything else it people talking out of their butts.
That's what I'm trying to say. However, here is what we know: Toei make expansions, additions, and changes to Toriyama's outline, while Toyotaro only makes expansions & additions, but no changes from what we are told. We can tell if something is from Toriyama if it's in both versions, and we can tell if something is from Toei if it's only in the anime, but we can't tell for sure if something is from Toyotaro just because it is only in the manga, because we know that Toei make changes whenever they feel it's necessary.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
