You... you actually think merch such as DVDs/Blu-rays are cheaper at stores, before shipping/tax? Because they are usually not.

I price match. I like having something right when I pay for it and I can pick it out and all.

Thank God for Wal-Mart

I always print out the Target online price and go buy it at Best Buy.

My favorite local brick and mortar charges $29.99 new, for the DB bricks. That's the same price as Right Stuf. Minus shipping of course.

The only store that sells new DVDs around here higher than that is Best Buy. They're consistently $10 more expensive. I never buy DVDs from Best Buy unless I do a price match.

But if I had to chose between $10 at Best Buy and $7 for shipping, I'd go ahead and consider the $10 same-day-priority-mail.

They do.

The stores just don't (usually) put them out early, because it's possible the product maker will complain and then no longer provide them with merchandise. But Best Buy and FYE and everyone else gets their shipments at the same time as places like RightStuf. RightStuf just gets away with early shipping by way of "Well, we have to allow for travel time. If they don't get it by the release date they might stop using us and make their buys at actual stores instead" logic.

I picked up my movie 4-6 VHS set the Friday before it was released at a Suncoast in Florida. They already had them in stock, they had had them in stock of over a week, but it wasn't yet release date so they were just sitting in the stock room in the back.

Well as you have noticed from the DVD Volume thread, me and Ishtar of Toonzone worked together to bring you the dubbed opening and ending songs in high quality! Here's the dubbed opening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOO0BKF6_xc I would have had the ending done too but the audio just won't synch with my video. It's rather annoying....

However, I have got HQ mp3s of them both ready so unless FUNimation releases a CD with these on (or until I can rip Blu-Ray), this is the best quality you'll hear them in! Enjoy!
Dragon Ball Kai Opening - Dragon Soul (FUNimation English Dub, Sung by Sean Schemmel) (48Khz, 320Kbps mp3)
Dragon Ball Kai Ending - Yeah! Break! Care Break! (FUNimation English Dub, Sung by Jerry Jewell) (48Khz, 320Kbps mp3)

Wow, those dubbed themes are pretty thoroughly horrible.

If it wasn't for the blatant auto-tune on Dragon Soul, it would sound pretty good. Otherwise, it sounds pretty decent, but the backing vocals on Yeah! Break! Care! Break! are so ridiculously out of tune, and it really hampers the song. The backing vocals don't even follow the same notes at all as the Japanese song...

I must have horrible ears or something. I'm not hearing this "obvious auto-tune" that everyone else is talking about. Can't people just be good at singing without it being a conspiracy?

I can tell there's some auto-tune in there. But I still like it. It only really stands out in a few spots.

You can hear his voice being digitally manipulated to make it higher pitched.
It sounds weird and unnatural.

Having listened to the song a few more times, his singing isn't too bad without the auto-tune.
Unfortunately its used a lot toward the end of the song.

The guy has a lot of range to begin with. Just compare his Goku screams to his Raphael grunts. I don't think he's being "corrected" nearly as much as you'd think.

Just a tiny question of insignificance that popped into my head, does Sean still do the snort while laughing as Kaio?

Edit: Just listened to the high quality dub themes. I liked them. The auto tune is really noticeable in the opening on certain parts though.

Wow, now that I'm hearing it unmuffled and not on a camrip, I'm liking Schemmel's Dragon Soul a lot less. =/

I still think YBCB is pretty bad, as well.

Yes, Kaiou's voice is basically the same as it has been for years. A little less drool and lisp than before, but basically the same. Thanks to the script and thanks to DBZ Abridged I didn't find it nearly as annoying as before, though.
