Yamcha has always kinda struck me as the buttmonkey. His strength has only ever been taken seriously once: when he fought a hungry Goku, and even then, any threat he had went out the window the moment he saw Bulma. In addition to that, it was more depicted that Goku was just too weak from being hungry, since he seemed more annoyed than injured.
The second time he and Goku fought (what, two chapters later?), this happened Image

I don't think it's so much the fandom picking on Yamcha as it is Toriyama himself. Well, I mean yeah... we pick on the guy, but I'm fairly certain it's what he's there for.
In the case of the Saibaiman killing him, it was more a case of his incredible capacity for failure being played seriously.
Just my two cents on the matter.

Also, to keep relevant to the overall topic:
Another thing that grinds my gears - Piccolo's pink arms in the anime and most of the games. Why is the anime so afraid of using yellow!?

You would think Toei would correct something like that, like they did with Vegeta's ugly color design for his first appearance and the Arlia filler.

A guy that grinds my gears more than FormidableWarrior is a guy called BioZero216.

It's even weirder when you look at something like Xenoverse, and his arms are still pink, but the custom Namekians have yellow arms by default (I think... if I'm wrong, feel free to correct me).

Then again, I feel like they never got Goku's colors right either (until GT, weirdly enough... that still confuses me to this day), but that's a gear to grind another day.

You do realize that Piccolo has been in the series far longer than Vegeta, right?

The reason why Piccolo's colour scheme was changed was for pretty much the same reason why he and all Nameks have extra fingers; because of the Yakuza

Wait, what? I know about the finger thing, but... I'm gonna say that's unlikely on the color change, given that Namekians have had yellow arms in the games before (Super DBZ, Xenoverse, Super Butoden), and even the older Piccolo Daimao had the correct colors when he appeared in the anime.

If I recall correctly, only older namekians have yellow parts instead of pink. It's not a color change, it's a design choice.

Nope, in the manga, they all have yellow arms.

I'm talking about the anime. They diversified, older namekians have yellow, younger pink arms on namek. It was a stylistic choice on the anime's part to specify age which was there from the beginning. When King Piccolo becomes young, his arms turn pink from yellow. It's like when a plant withers and loses it's bright colors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3pswTHT4U0

I'm aware of that happening in the anime, but... even though it's a game, Xenoverse also follows the anime's coloring scheme, yet the default Namekian arm color is yellow.
The rest of what you say does make sense, I suppose. Still, I like the yellow arms a lot better and would rather have that than color diversity, so my gear grinding stands!

When casual fans go on shitting on The Japanese version and insulting the Original Seiyūs and going on saying "DBZ is way better in Dub" and the anime fans who think DB/Z is a mindless Emotionless fighting show which only consist of screaming or punches.
I prefer Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, DB/Z/GT Movies, Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT in Japanese.
For DBZ Kai and two new Movies I like both Dub and Sub. I Prefer Shunsuke Kikuchi Soundtracks over All other Composers.

Iv'e told you this multiple times on Youtube, you act like there aren't tons of fans that insult the dub voices and actors every chance they get, and it gets pretty nasty sometimes too. Just checking in your other posts prove you are at least partly guilty of this.

What grinds my gears is this 'victim' attitude that so many fans have.

Preferring dub is an opinion. Like honestly who cares if someone prefers the dub. Does it trigger you that much??

What's your YouTube Username I can't recall it and as I said people can watch whatever they like that's not my concern but when these fans go on bashing the Japanese version that is when it sounds ignorant and again it's not about their preference but them mentioning in like a fact that "Dub makes DBZ Better" is the most ignorant thing ever.
