Man, not even DragonBall can avoid 3D it seems. Be interesting to see how they utilize the 3D, though.

That seems the most likely. And it provide a great segway into learning about the other 11 universes.rereboy wrote:From one of the other universes.Lord Beerus wrote:Maybe they wish to bring back Freeza from another timeline. I just hope they don't give Freeza a 5th form and make him as strong as a SSjG. That would be total fan wank and I would turn off the movie if they do that. Half of the people on Earth can easily beat Freeza now.

I think it's cool that Goku and Vegeta get new outfits, but whats the deal with Krillin and Yamcha?
It's like Yamcha now has Krillin's BOG look and Krillin's bald again.

The whole 3D gimmick as a whole in my opinion is just bullshit and something film executes and studios thrown in just to make more money. Films rarely uses 3D well. The only films in my opinion that improved in quality using 3D were Jurassic Park, Gravity and Avatar. I just hope that the movie won't be like Clash Of The Titans and Transformers films where 3D effectively killed the experience of the film.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Man, not even DragonBall can avoid 3D it seems. But that would mean that they're all parallel universes, which isn't that interesting.Lord Beerus wrote:That seems the most likely. And it provide a great segway into learning about the other 11 universes.

WOW!! YAY! I'm excited!
Freeza's back!? hahaha well, I did not see that coming. Arlight. I can see something happening during the revival itself that makes him such a threat for everyone.
Did anyone else realize Goku and Vegeta's faces are more like the Cell Saga versions of themselves?

The BoG poster was consistent with the style in the movie. I really hope they keep the style from the new poster then...

Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"

The Flashpoint Paradox, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Infinite Crisis and Crisis on Two Earths disagree.Doctor. wrote:But that would mean that they're all parallel universes, which isn't that interesting.Lord Beerus wrote:That seems the most likely. Yamamuro's styles on the poster seem a bit inconsistent. Vegeta looks like something he might have drawn years ago but Gokuu looks closer to his more recent stuff. If he can't even draw a poster well I hope he isn't actually doing the character designs and chief animation supervision for the film.

So you think 3D is bullshit, but also hold it can genuinely improve films?Lord Beerus wrote: The whole 3D gimmick as a whole in my opinion is just bullshit and something film executes and studios thrown in just to make more mony. Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
I just realized this movie is coming out eighteen days later than the previous film did. That's less than three weeks. The extra time is likely only because Toei Animation has produced so many episodes in 2014 as compared to 2012. Yeesh.

Dragon Ball isn't DC, and up till now, all the info we've had about the other 11 universes in the movie and guides have implied that they aren't just alternate versions of the DB universe we know.Lord Beerus wrote:The Flashpoint Paradox, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Infinite Crisis and Crisis on Two Earths disagree.Doctor. wrote:But that would mean that they're all parallel universes, which isn't that interesting.Lord Beerus wrote:That seems the most likely. So I'll agree here. A Goku, Vegeta and Freeza in every universe? Bah. I wouldn't really find this interesting. It'd be a much bigger disappointment by shrinking the whole of the DB universe/franchise, which they had previously just set up to be basically limitless in potential.

This is a dumb movie idea.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

3D is great if done well, I agree. And as you say thats a rarity nowadays. But I have never seen a flat animation in 3D before if that makes sense, I am curious too see how it works.Lord Beerus wrote:The whole 3D gimmick as a whole in my opinion is just bullshit and something film executes and studios thrown in just to make more mony. It could juts be that Freeza is a special being that exists in every universe. But then again, why Freeza? Boo would make much more sense for that job.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Dragon Ball isn't DC, and up till now, all the info we've had about the other 11 universes in the movie and guides have implied that they aren't just alternate versions of the DB universe we know.

He could be a Freeza from a different timeline, but if that's the case, then why didn't they revive everyone that died on Trunks' future?
I think it's obvious it's our Freeza.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
While I'm a little disappointed that it's not a new villian, I will say freeza was always the greatest villian in DBZ History (Sorry Cell and Buu fans)! But they better have a good reason he's a real threat to all of the Z fighters.
I am excited about Vegeta being up there with Goku in the poster, so I fully expect he'll have a huge role!! To the point that maybe Toriyama wasn't lying about Vegeta being the star.

Yes. Hence I why I said films "rarely" use 3D. The amount of films that use 3D appropriately in comparison to the films that don't use 3D well is so one sided in the latter. Although, I genuinely would recommend buying a 3D TV to watch Gravity, Jurassic Park and Avatar. They are phenomenal in 3D and remain the greatest examples of using 3D well.ImmaDeker wrote:So you think 3D is bullshit, but also hold it can genuinely improve films?Lord Beerus wrote: The whole 3D gimmick as a whole in my opinion is just bullshit and something film executes and studios thrown in just to make more mony. Does anyone else think were finally going to get that age old question of what their power levels are now, with the scouters making a come back?
