Edit: Yeah, it's old alright. Maybe they saw the illustration in V-Jump and just assumed it was new/related...?
Yup, already had to set some people straight else where, lol. Gotta love it when sites post something with zero research to make sure they aren't wrong! I don't feel like making an account on that site to tell them that they're wrong, lol.

He also says "you never killed your enemies" which is just factually incorrect. I mean, most of the people Goku killed were before the saiyan arc so Vegeta wasn't around to see it, but he was there for, uh, Yakon I guess.
(And all that being said I'd still describe Goku as a very kind person. The fact that he has other traits which can lead to him taking questionable actions does not mean he isn't kind.)
Didn't Yakon technically kill himself by eating too much light?

Thats how it looked to me as well, it isnt Goku's fault the guy ate too much light out of him

They're using the trustworthy Japanese site Comic Natalie as the source, but if i'm reading the original news right, it just says that's Goku by Toyotaro, not that's specifically done for the new manga. So it was a matter of interpretation..

Yeah, Comic Natalie doesn't say anything about it being Super-specific artwork. It's just previous promotional art they decided to use. Based on the talkback thread, ANN doesn't seem interested in changing their article. I think that's a big mistake, but I don't have the energy to go debate with them about it right now. EDIT: And for the record, I'm not suggesting or advocating some kind of "us versus them" invasion.
Even if Super is set directly after RF, odds are everyone will still have a new look. It happened with RF itself and GT, and new manga arcs tended to feature new looks as well.

Seriously? Damn, the internet works fast.
Happy Birthday, Baggie_Saiyan!

Akira Toriyama wrote:My policy is to try and forget things once they’re over. Since if I don’t discard the old and focus on what’s new, I’ll overload my brain capacity. I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

As lighthearted in tone as the Buu Saga was (because in Dragon Ball the story arc where the human race is all but wiped out is lighter in tone than the previous five arcs), yeah...that bit was freakin' dark.
Perhaps the darkest. I would certainly not like something at that level again (and what followed).
I forgot to add Cell surprise blasting Trunks' chest.
In any case, the cast was shown already to try to avoid killing Freeza's soldiers. They won't be doing anything too harsh beyond breaking some noses and blowing up the final boss if its too strong (not that Vegeta isn't against severing some limbs, I guess). In FoF we got Gohan without a pulse and bloodless chest hole for Goku. Not too shabby I guess.
Things I guess we could deal with for a real sense of danger for the main cast: stabbed (blades?/Arms?), broken limbs (like King Piccolo vs Goku), blinded (longer than Taiyoken). Killing actual new named characters/friends would also do the trick I guess.
People act like the violence of the series doesn't matter and while it's true it doesn't entirely matter, I think it does add something. The more horrible the act of violence the more shock you are in and the more you hate that villain because of how awful and evil he really is! The kinds of things that Freeza did made you just hate him so much. That's why he was such a popular villain, mixing that level of violence with his personality. On the flip side, the rather graphic way Trunks slices him up makes the audience feel like that really evil guy got what was coming to him!!
I would hate for Super to have this element entirely lost.

CM often refers to commercials in Japanese media. So I think cell means he'll do anything, even dance like a monkey on TV in order to gain relevance again.

Stuff like this makes me so grateful Kanzenshuu exists. I don't understand why ANN's reporting on Dragon Ball ends up so often the way it does.
It's because ANN are a bunch of hacks, honestly. As an avid Digimon fan, I can tell you that they're not any better with their reports on the upcoming tri. movie series. They make incredibly basic mistakes and pick up on any tiny rumor as a legitimate piece of news.

That's... not what they're doing.
And I'm saying that as someone who does have a problem with the misinformation.
We've been over this before with the movie title as Chuquita alluded to. They're a broad site. They don't - and one could argue shouldn't - know every single last detail about every single last property. They'd never get anything done were that the case. That being said, that also leads to minor mistakes that can lead to larger mistakes because they don't have the necessary context or single news editor with encyclopedic knowledge about every trivial detail they've ever written about everything, because that would be insane.

We might learn the staff for Episode #1 when next month's issues of the television guides or regular animation magazines come out around 08 or 10 June. Otherwise there probably won't be anything until the next issue of V-JUMP.
