Lol, the last U7 fighter screams Toriyama. Can't believe i even considered the possibility of a serious looking guy. Although he most likely has a transformation.

I really love the fact there's no "Saiyan counterparts", female Vegeta or crap like that. The Freeza type one is pushing the envelope already. Purple guy and the short Saiyan (it does seem to be a girl) are my favorites.

Did Yamamuro draw that first page? It looks like his style.

Had the same thought, it looked very Yamamuroish~ art.

Yeah, the cover has the anime style, not Toyotaro's. There's also the anime's 30 anniversary logo in the middle indicating that.
Speaking of which, maybe this official logo we're first seeing now is related to the "big announcement". 2016 is a special year for the anime.

I wonder if Piccolo or Buu did any training at all for this tournament? I was hoping we'd see something, but it seems it's only Goku and Vegeta training...again.

I'm pretty sure they did. Don't forget the manga is just a preview of the anime, it skips a lot of stuff. I think we're just seeing the basics to have an understanding of the plot here.

Pretty interesting designs, to say the least. Thank god they didn't include some alternate Broly/Bardock character. I'm really curious about the Purple Cell guy though.

Ok, now that i browsed through the chapter...Gohan was pretty much the only member of the cast staying behind. I think this is a HUGE hint something's gonna happen on Earth while everyone's out there.

I just had a thought. Gokû mentioned in episode 23 that Piccolo will be brought back to life via the Namekian Dragon Balls. It's possible that Kibito-Kaioshin goes to gather it to wish Piccolo back, but also gets a wish to spilt his fusion apart. It may not play out exactly the same it was in the manga version, but it's still could happen in the near future, perhaps after Freeza is defeated.

I really like that color image, Beers' team looks awesome! (Boo, you fit so well with the rest)

Champa's team also looks good, and they are varied. The robot and the bear are a breath of fresh air. That purple guy looks very generic, I hope he's weak. They all look evil/anti-hero so that's interesting as well. Oh Freeza, nice to see your slick design again, hope there's talk about him.

So, we have a Saiyajin, a Freeza race, a robot, a fat animal and a humanoid... Saiyajin, Freeza, Cell and Boo arcs? Maybe Piccolo Daimaou arc as well.

What he's doing is pretty irrelevant. the important thing is why Toriyama would want to leave Gohan and only Gohan behind. High chances the plot will require him to be there.

And hey, that's probably gonna be much better than having him as just another cheerleader in the tournament.

Like some folks here, I also think Gohan might have some sort of role, its pretty weird leaving him behind while Videl goes to watch. He's likely needed for something in the future.

After looking at the image again I am seriously loving the U6 team, is it just me or does the saiyan look a lil girlish? maybe because of the eyes. Especially liking the purple dude, looks evil enough

Believe it or not guys, lots of people are raging on facebook, that they didn't get bardock or broly. Many pages misinformed a lot of people saying bardock and broly were comfirmed for the universe 6 team. It's sickening, it's as if people would freaking complain about every single detail on current dragon ball these days.

Love the new characters! I totally want to see Strongest U7 vs. Winnie the Pooh fight. I also wonder how the fighting of the Dragon Quest robot is like.
