Yes, and I also hope it serves as a turning point in the way they portray violent scenes. They're changing that tone slowly: first was that bloody babarian being cut in half by Zamas and then Vegeta vomiting blood after Black ran him through with his ki-sword.YonedgeHP wrote:If that's gonna be the case: And so Universe 10's God of destruction.omaro34 wrote:I've said this on here a long time ago, and with each episode coupled with the new information coming out it looks like its turning out to be true.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want nonsense violence. I just want Toei to stop pretending these characters have fucking air inside their bodies.

Of course, Toei's no blood on deep cuts is ridiculous, as when Tagoma tear Piccolo's arm apart and not gushed nothing. Zamas and the Babarians was a beginning.PMD wrote:Yes, and I also hope it serves as a turning point in the way they portray violent scenes. There was also green blood when zamasu took out sword from his abdomen. However I don't see anything more than this happening in terms of violence though.Especially if this arc was supposed to have a dark tone.

Meanwhile, One Piece (which airs right after Super) features scenes like this

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Is that supposed to be blood? Looks like a bad case of diarrhea and that guy being in the wrong place at the wrong time.Kakarotto92 wrote:Meanwhile, One Piece (which airs right after Super) features scenes like this
I had to check frame by frame to actually watch which appear to be what you're talking about. You mean this?Sodhi wrote:There was also green blood when zamasu took out sword from his abdomen.

No, actually I prefer when it looks like my favourite anime characters are made of air. Said no one ever. I prefer the diarrhea too, Kakarotto92.Kakarotto92 wrote:I'd still take that any day over thisPMD wrote: Is that supposed to be blood? When Freezer tortured Gohan should've been a bloody scene. Like, gruesome bloody. And I don't even care about that as a factor, for real. But that would've been awesome.
Vegeta has been the one who bled the most. Hit and Black made that happen.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
This is actually tone down. This screen was much bloodier in the manga. Also, this happened back in 2009. Since then, One Piece is more censored. Look at Marineford in the anime compared to the manga.Kakarotto92 wrote:Meanwhile, One Piece (which airs right after Super) features scenes like this

One piece still has plenty of blood in their fighting scenes. Marineford featured lots of blood. As do current arcsHeroR wrote:This is actually tone down. This screen was much bloodier in the manga. The blood is heavily toned down from the manga, especially the more recent One Piece episode. The One Piece anime is censored, it just isn't as noticeable since One Piece keeps a lot of its violent because it was grandfather clauses in with the new tv standards in Japan, remember One Piece anime has been running since 1999. Even then, if you read the manga, you can see where the censorship is since that is a point of big debate within the One Piece community. That Zoro scene is heavily censored, which is why I brought up the humor that a heavily censored screen that actually got a lot of flack within the One Piece fandom is used as an example of lax censorship.

I'm not denying censorship from manga to anime (lack of foam annoys me most)
I was merely saying blood is still present in One Piece and is frequently seen in fights.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I never said that One Piece had no blood, through. I said that One Piece is censored between the anime and the manga, and the censorship actually went up in recent years. There isn't as much blood in One Piece as it used to be and the only reason One Piece gets away with what it has is because it's grandfather clause since the show premiered before a lot of the harsher censorship. If One Piece premiered today, it would be similar to Super or Kai.Krillin1994 wrote:I'm not denying censorship from manga to anime (lack of foam annoys me most)

My main point, you really can't compared One Piece to Super in terms of blood because one kept its blood because of grandfather clause, and even then it has been toned down from where it used to be and how the manga shows it. The same happened with Torika where the manga is extremely violent and bloody, yet the anime cut almost all the blood out.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I think people expected some element of blood since Kai airing in the slot just before super began still contained blood. And the thing with DBZ it had a precedent for showing blood in all of its shows before. So even though Super was a new show it'd have more of a stake to show blood than Toriko due to its history.HeroR wrote:I never said that One Piece had no blood, through.
