I felt the need to bring it back up again that Walmart still doesn't have Funimation's new release up. I wonder what's going on?
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Walmart as of late has been pretty dry for Anime at least in my area... Buying physical DVDs or Blu-Rays has become a chore since most local stores do not carry it well mine don't, so you have to either order online or pay to stream it.

Walmart used to be filled with anime, not so much anymore.

Not sure what to make of that, but since FUNimation was recently shooting a commercial that featured the release, I have to imagine it's either still on tap for later this month, or even if it happened to get delayed, would still be coming in the relatively near future.

Personally speaking, I can't remember the last time I bought any TV show in an actual store. Certainly not any of my anime.

I bought DVDs and recently Blu-rays at my local stores and big boxes but as of late it's all coming from Amazon.
I would guess they're stilling shooting for December 31st.

I live in the country so try to imagine what it's like for me getting stuff! :P When Kai was being released the chances of you getting it at the store was almost zero. That's why If I want anything I have to get it online. There may have been a couple cases here and there where Walmart had certain stuff but it's hard for me to remember that. lol I have never seen any of the Dragon-boxes there...Ever! And I don't have best buys and stores like that around me so...Thank God for the Internet Haha.

I bought the first volume of Kai in stores and it ended up costing almost twice as much as it would have online. I don't even bother with that anymore. It's been like that with the Dragon Ball seasons too. I picked up a couple for somewhere around $40-50 each a few years ago when they were around $20-30 each on Amazon.

"Over saturation is easy. Just drag the slider to the right and there you are: instant interest. And certainly, the majority of the public likes saturated color images. In fact, if you want to quickly create a popular image, simply over saturate the colors and increase the contrast. While you may not achieve a sophisticated image, you will achieve an image that will please a less demanding audience." - Alain Briot

Hey, I still buy TV shows on DVD. I just pick up Transformers Prime Season 1 not too while ago and I got Ultra Seven on DVD for my birthday a while (I can careless about the whole Chaiyo nonsense).

You don't see as much anime DVD's at places like Target, Best Buy and Wal-Mart because blu-ray is expanding and has been for the past few years. It looks like most anime fans is moving towards purchasing online for home video release and streaming sites like Netflix and Crunchyroll. Places like Wal-Mart and Target like to make room for space and they won't keep titles on their shelves if not enough people are going to be buy them. The Target in Columbia, MD still has a few DBZ DVD's in the children animation selection. People must be buying them if they keep on selling them and I would imagine my target will have the DBZ Blu-Ray sets by next year.

This, I can't speak for those outside the US, but rightstuf has always been great for me. Heck, I (along with lots of others) have occasionally gotten things delivered a week or longer before the street date.

Fye should have DBZ on Blu-Ray. The last time I went there, they still have a lot of anime titles on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Anime in the uk is pretty hard to come by in stores. Only recently have HMV made a new 'anime' section. Only other place I have seen anime in sale is comic book store. Where they priced the orange bricks at £34.99 Is like $57!! I never went to that store again. Luckily found another local comic book store! But they don't sell anime only manga!

Amazon.com seems to be the one offering the best price for this DBZ Season 1 Blu-ray along with other anime-products, such as the DBZ Full Coloured Manga #1 for $9.99 whereas others charge $19.99 or more.

It's also one of the main websites for people who live outside US to buy stuff from.

I checked this morning and I believe the price of the Manga is now $12.99. Glad I pre-ordered mine when I did..saved me a couple dollars. :)

Edit - $12.22 actually sorry about that. :P

Just wanted to say, thanks to that link, I found out that not only were the Blu-Rays for Nadia: The Secret Of Blue Water getting an American release, but it was discounted due to holiday sales. Cheers!

Seeing all the hate this release is getting (Amazon) I'm afraid to get them. :P I'd hate to buy them and they get canceled due to unpopularity.

With all the hate and flack the Orange Bricks got (even before its release), I don't see these getting canceled anytime soon.

The Level Blu-rays were cancelled due to the remastering process taking too long and being too expensive for FUNimation but in this case it's the opposite, and they know people will buy it especially since it's in 16x9 (no black bars on the left or right) making the jump for those going from DVD to Blu-ray.

I wonder what would be the outrage if Toei Animation remastered DBZ in HD and 16x9 AR.

I hope you're right buddy. I'm not going to sit and lie to myself and say ''Ahhh..I probably wont buy these'' Because I know it's BS. LOL  I'll probably wait til around 3 or 4 volumes get out of it then buy them. Plus I wanna get the entire Manga in Full color.
