Come on. Tell me THAT doesn't look better.
The logo is too big and even if it's smaller the image doesn't really fit with that packaging.I prefer Funimation's cover

As a quick mock-up it works, I never said it didn't. Sorry if I came off like that.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
I prefer the Funi cover.

Your cover has numerous flaws that make it look terrible (ignoring the mspaintness.)

I didn't really ask you guys to judge it. Just trying to make a point. I thought anything would be better than their cover. They didn't seem to put a lot of effort into it. How's it gonna sell itself like that?

First time that there is no possible argument. American DVD is better than the Japanese DVD.
Wow, it really is better than the Japanese DVD. I don't have Blu-Ray, so I have to default to the DVD and glad I have to now. :D

Their cover is well composed and has excellent composition. Yours does not. So I respond....

Their cover is clearly better.

My guess is you only wanted positive responses.

Tough, because I'm honest.

Man, I've never thought this before, but - especially with Conan as his avatar - Godofchaos' comments are hilarious.

Ugh, all I was trying to do was make a point on an advertising point-of-view. And if you want to criticize me so bad, why don't you use constructive criticism, hm? If I wanted to be criticized for my creativity and lack of skill, I would have posted it somewhere else where the website is actually made for that. I was stating a point of my opinion. Kinda realize that not everyone sees things the way someone else does.

Fair enough

1- Giant logo when there is a title bar takes up to much space.
2- Having similarly colored blue lines reach up the Blu-ray bar looks strange and generically ugly.
3- The picture of Goku you use, along with where you pose him leaves to much free space on one single side.
4- The text is unnecessary. Whether it was on the Japanese BD or not, it looks strange sitting there in the midst of a giant Japanese letter in the background.
5- Back to the picture of Goku. While a shot used on the Japanese disk, it frankly isn't the best picture. While Goku is posing, it isn't necessarily a clearly recognizable pose or a super recognizable move that anyone can go 'I know that!'

To better help show some of the problems, I went ahead and added a few quickly placed alpha overlays.

And I didn't criticize your creativity, nor say you shouldn't try again. But to pop in with the first try and basically declare it awesome, you were asking for such a reply.

There that's better. I know there was problems, it isn't perfect or a masterpiece. It was just a quick little idea I threw up in like 10 minutes to make a point. I even said it was rough. I didn't declare it was awesome, either.

You declared your 'rough' test better than the official cover art.

Close enough to saying awesome in my book.

Not close enough to being awesome though.

Do you not have an imagination? Try to at least let you mind imagine that rough cover being better than what it is, okay? That's what you are suppose to do with rough edits.

Anyway, now is the time to drop it, because now this whole page is filled with nonsense all because I tried to make a point. Time to move on.

I ignored it being rough and mspaintishwhen when I pointed out the flaws, pretended the images and everything were put on perfect in fact.

But sure, let us move on.

I'm still surprised how terrible the Japanese Kai DVD is. It was clearly an afterthought that had very little thought or effort put into it.

It has specific flaws in encoding that the Dboxes didn't have over half a decade ago.

No Z Kai title or the Dragon Box words cuz they have white background and that will be akward.

alright maybe it's not good but I just throw the pic in that no other settings and I don't really put even a little hard work in it.

Take some pride in your work, put in a least a little effort and give a minimum attempt.
