How about we stop complaining about legal issues and race and enjoy a brand new set photo?

Is that supposed to be Nappa? It just looks like a dude with his shirt off.

Well Nappa did have his armor off for the majority of the fight, but you can still clearly see his tail.

This Nappa doesn't even have a moustache, I surely hope they'll add a moustache later on to him. =)

And recast: Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Kuririn, Tenshinhan and Chichi, if possible. They're not an accurate real life version of the characters, in terms of body and faces. Or just Chichi, she's real pretty in the anime/manga but in this version, eh.. OK.

Well then the other saiyans should have been white as well, which would probably be easier to find.
Oh man this takes me back to the days of Evolution. I would bet money they chose to use an Asian Goku and Vegeta because everyone made a huge fuss when a white guy got the role of Goku in Evolution. Not that Justin Chatwin was really qualified for the role or anything; but there was more of a fuss about his race rather than his acting abilities. I remember one point being that even though he's a Saiyan he should still be Japanese because that's where the show originated from(I think that was on here btw).

Personally I think the actors are fine. All three actors have the right builds and you can't say they don't look the part, even if their races are different. We won't get much because it's a trailer, but the only thing that can kill it for me is their actual acting ability.

...or and maybe Raditz hair. It's so silly!
Well I hope these aren't the actors if they ever make an actual full length live action Dragonball Z movie, because when it's made there will probably never be another one so I want at least Goku to look right.

Also, if they're not going to do the Oozaru (Which is an important part of that saga), I'm also questioning on just how much of the saga they'll actually cover.
They are only making a trailer, there isn't going to much if any acting required.

Yeah it likely only going be 2-5 mins at most.

Let's just assume Nappa shaved off his (tiny) moustache.

One less problem in a character of this fan-film.

Um none of the actors have tails?
Also what is up with krillin I do not see a resemblance.
They could use some of the actors from the Tekken live action movie
that would be awesome.

Nappa clearly has a tail there, as does Raditz. It's wrapped around their waste as shown in the anime.

Their budget probably isn't enough to hire the Tekken 2010 film actors/actresses.

Goku: Jon Foo
Vejita: Ian Anthony Dale
Muten Roshi-sama: Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa
Tenshinhan: Roger Huerta
Kuririn: Cung Le / Ken Jeong
Nappa: Jonathan Kowalsky
Bulma: Kelly Overton
Chichi: Jamie Chung
Piccolo: James Marsters

If they'd hire Jon Food, Ian and the rest, or just Jamie Chung to be Chichi in this fan-film, I'd watch all of it just for her. She's so gorgeous and talented. :)

Note: I don't have a crush for Chichi, but Chichi's a pretty character, that's all.

Short film? Meh, I'd rather watch Movieola likely than seeing 60 second ads. It may be rough the Super Bowl commercials but lets just say the Saiyan Saga trailer can be a piece of cake. If they do a live action DBZ or DBGT film, it'll be a waste of skin and money if the taxpayers can't help the motion picture budget regarding those projects.

Face it, that trailer could almost end up like DBE in that case.

Marsters is too short for Piccolo (never mind his role for that awful DBE movie). He should be fairly tall compared to the rest of the Z fighters.

I don't understand why there are scenes taking place near the ocean with Nappa. I feel like the whole thing is just going to become "Dragon Ball Z characters fight on a beach". Regardless of the legalities, this just looks terrible in my opinion. They clearly wish to cater to fans of the series yet nothing they've presented, besides actual footage of the series, looks remotely like the series.

It's because Dragon Ball was not created with the intent of being a live action property. As such, trying to do a 1:1 adaptation is impossible, and promising to do so is foolish. Changes have to be made to accommodate the fact that this is real life.
