That Goku on the left so looks like the taunting-Vegeta-for-fun one from the 2008 special (that's what I recognize that style as). I like him. X3

They sure like sticking Vegeta in his Cell arc garb though, don't they?

Let's see, director's done a smattering of episodes from various series, some that I've watched but can't recall the exact episodes themselves. Same with the animation director.

Huh, never seen anything the writer's done, but they all look a bit darker than DB; interesting.

Wow, this is insane. Dragon Ball really is a series that.... Just. Won't. Die. I love it for it though.

Sounds like this new movie is gonna be a pretty big deal, I know I'm just echoing what many have said previously but the JSAT tour special was really cool and hit all the right notes, but the PTETSS and the Episode of Bardock specials were pretty underwhelming.

I'm excited for this though, especially with specific details of Toriyama's involvement.

I'm trying to keep my expectations low for now, but I will admit, when I saw the D page, I struggled to contain myself.

That's how I feel at the moment. I always tend to keep my expectations low since it will help me be less disappointed if the movie does end up being a huge disappointment. I hope they make the movie a hour and half long instead just being 60 minutes.

I like it a lot better than his Boo arc attire, I feel like the Battle Armor suits his personality a lot better.

If they included Goku's SSJ3 Fist of the Dragon somewhere in this film I'd love it, it seems like this one has true potential, but with Toei Animation you never know until it's out.

"Heavy Toriyama involvement" That's enough for me. This movie can't fail! The cell arc vegeta might be a favourite of mr Toriyama. The previous jump special had him too and he also made appearances in neko majin z. Krillin's also rockin' the same outfit as the 2008 special.

Man just the other day I was talking to thedevilscorpse about what a dbo special could be like and now we get this! Somehow I'm hoping for certain Makaioshin involvement in the plot that might set up for later installments!

The movie should be two hours and have the music composed by Immediate/Globus and the songs like Europa, Preliator, Thousand Deaths, Black Parade, etc... That will put a Dragon Ball epic punch in one.

For some reason, I imagined Toei returning one of Toriyama's kids that they've been holding ransom until Toriyama agrees to actually take part in something DB-related for them.

Excited that a new DBZ movie's in the works, though I'm kinda hesitant about it at the same time. "Plan to Eradicate..." and the new Bardock Special were pretty meh, both in terms of story and animation quality. Shonen in general has always been one of those things that would rarely result in a movie adaptation that I seriously enjoyed outside of the fight scenes.

Looking into the team involved, though, I will say that there's some massive hype around this movie (if announcement of the movie itself wasn't enough already). I'd say I'm skeptical about just how involved Toriyama's gonna be with this movie, but then I remember that epic timeline he did for DBO and get excited all over again. Really hope he gives the movie the ol' Toriyama X Factor in terms of mixing action and humor. As for Watanabe, I've seen all three 20th Century Boys movies, and thought they were alright (though looking on ANN, he's not even listed for the movies, which is kinda weird). Considering the other rather dark titles he's worked on, it'll be interesting to see how he plays with the DB world (drama with the Kais eventually leading into a new take on the Boo Saga? That could be cool.)

As for the time period of the movie, it looks like it'll be taking place some time after the Boo Saga again. Not really much to say here. I mean, it's a nice clean area not touched by the manga or anime that much, so why not?

Here's to hoping we get a better than par DBZ movie.

Awesome!! In 2013 I will use all of my vacation days from work just to go to Japan to catch this movie. I'm saving up the rest of the year for this. No more crazy spending on DBZ merchandise for the rest of this year.

So happy to see another dragonball movie being made and Akira Toriyama being deeply involved makes it so much better! This could be one of the best. Seeing Piccolo and Krilling is also heartwarming.
