I think the odds of seeing GT-Pan aren't that bad. She's already been in a fighting game before (Final Bout) and plays a considerable role in GT.
and 18 is already a fighter in all the PS2 DBZ fighting games, and Videl is in most of them too.
I don't think there will be a Z-Pan mostly because all she did in Z was dish out a slap. A tough slap, sure. But beyond that, she can't possibly be taken as a 'serious' fighter, and I wouldn't hold my breath for a 'joke' fighter either.
They've already thought of using Bulma, obviously, in the Budokai games. Whether or not they'd consider her for Sparking! games is another question entirely. Bra... isn't a fighter. At all. She's fought less than Z-Pan. The only time she's even shown any potential was flying when she was under Baby's control.
I could see Lunch being a hilarious joke character though. She'd even have a transformation! She could be an all-but-useless character before her 'SNEEZE!' transformation goes off, and then the blonde-Lunch can use like machine gun special attacks.
Seriously, though... there's a reason why there aren't many female fighters in the video games, because there are barely any female fighters in the story!

See, the more you guys talk about GT elements in videogames, the more I want GT kid Goku in the game, who should be considerably more powerful than DB Kid Goku. Think about, it should be cool to play as Super Saiyan 3 Kid Goku, then have him transorm to Golden Ozaru, then after that, SSJ4 like in GT. It doesn't seem possible though because it doesn't look like Saiyans could transform to an Ozaru, so I guess Golden Ozaru is also scratched off of the list.

Gohan was 4 1/2 when Raditz arrived so the version you play as in B1 and B3 is 5 1/2 years old. So it's not like really young characters aren't in the game already. Hell, Goten and Trunks are only 7 and 8.Kaze no Mune wrote:"Kid" Gohan was in DBZ3 (and probably the others, but I only have the third one). He was only 5, maybe 6 at the oldest. Ya, Kid Gohan played a bigger role than Z Pan, but it's still a character that would be interesting, considering they're pretty much adding every character possible.Thanos6 wrote:I do not want to play as, or fight against, a four year old.Z Pan

It would make considerably more sense to access SSJ4 from Kid Goku, rather than the standard Z-era Goku. I'm not sure if this is going to be like a skill-attatchment system like the Budokai series but if it is, I hope you don't have to hit all the other SSJ forms first. These games seem to forget that they specifically stated 'Oh, you'd think Goku could access SSJ4 from SSJ3 but... guess not!' (That is not an exactly quote)kvon wrote:See, the more you guys talk about GT elements in videogames, the more I want GT kid Goku in the game, who should be considerably more powerful than DB Kid Goku. Unforunately, I think the problem with that would be that GT Kid Goku would be too similar to Dragonball Goku or Buu Saga Goten (especially in SSJ). SSJ3 Kid Goku would be cool, and SSJ4 is always cool. Oh well... I'm putting too much thought into a character that may never be.

Isn't it rather fanboy-ish to berate a game completely based on it's alternate costumes(or lack thereof)? o.o;; Next you'll whine that Yamucha doesn't have every outfit and haircut he's ever had during DB, DBZ & DBGT.
I don't think that the first Sparking was a failure by any stretch of the imagination, it captures how a Dragonball Z fight should be far better than any DBZ/Budokai ever did.

I agree. I kind of wish they'd leave out the in-game transformations in Sparking! NEO. Let them make a Dragonball Z 4 (budokai 4) and put in all the transformations they want, but Sparking! was unique (in recent games) for keeping transformations as seperate characters.Pedro The Hutt wrote: I don't think that the first Sparking was a failure by any stretch of the imagination, it captures how a Dragonball Z fight should be far better than any DBZ/Budokai ever did.
But absolutly everyone complained about the lack of transformations in the last Sparking!
After it came out it was all I heard people complaining about. I have no feeling one way or another on the transformations, It's good with or without them.
So, I say bravo to spike for complying with society's demand.
After all that always works best (sarcasm)

There is no better combination in the world than Dragonball, Cherry Pepsi, and Cheez-Its. It's a proven fact.

I never complained about the lack of transformations; on the contrary I thought there was some serious advantages to not powering up or down.
For one I never had to worry about charging enough Ki to stay in my form, and it encouraged you to make the most out of each form, instead of concentrating on powering up to reach the highest form.
Yet I'm still looking forward to the Budokai esque transforming in Sparking Neo. The original Sparking was good for being original, and even after the sequel is released it will still be unique.

I wouldn't call BT a failure, just sub-par. Budokai 1 did a better job, IMO, than BT did. I still don't get how people can think the fights in BT match better to the series than the ones in the Budokai games. Sure, the style will allow for such fights in time. Once the engine gets a serious overhaul. Currently, though, BT is nothing more than who can spam the most energy attacks the fastest.Pedro The Hutt wrote:I don't think that the first Sparking was a failure by any stretch of the imagination, it captures how a Dragonball Z fight should be far better than any DBZ/Budokai ever did.

I think that way myself. I mean, I think Tenkaichi's fights look more like the series than Budokai does. Sure, from a gameplay standpoint, you may or may not LIKE it, but I still think it's more like DBZ's actual fighting.Xyex wrote:I still don't get how people can think the fights in BT match better to the series than the ones in the Budokai games. There's lots of combos you can do in Budokai, but I don't really recall many combos in the series. A lot of it is just trading regular hits, smashing people into things, dashing around at them in high speed, and firing off a bunch of energy, which is what Tenkaichi is made of. Oh yeah, and lots of free-flight. In Budokai, you're pretty much locked with your opponent in close-quarters.
Although, if this were a DragonBall game, and not a Z game, maybe Budokai would be more accurate than Tenkaichi. DragonBall relied much more on traditional hand-to-hand fighting.
About in-game transformations in THIS game, didn't I hear someone say that it looks like you can choose your starting form AND transform from there if you wanted? Or was that just speculation?
I, personally, didn't have a problem with or without in-game transformations, but that would be nice (to choose your starting form and transform if you wanted).

Now, I can't say that there isn't some report.. far out there in the internet that I haven't gotten my curious little eyes on yet... so I'm not going to say that that's 'Absolutely' speculation...Leotaku wrote: About in-game transformations in THIS game, didn't I hear someone say that it looks like you can choose your starting form AND transform from there if you wanted? But I will say that it's more than likely speculation.

Oooohohoho, here be a Hands-on impression on how Sparking! Neo plays on the Wii. And I must say, it sure sounds fun. =D Having to thrust both the nunchaku and the Wii-remote forward to perform a kamehameha.

Those backgrounds look beautiful! I see multiple health bars. And Goku transforming directly to SSJ4. Not that Z-era Goku ever transformed to SSJ4, but it is more accurate than having to go through all the SSJ transformations.
"Well, big characters in DBZ hit hard! but they're slow."
Oh, I beg to differ. In DBZ, the bigger characters are usually painfully fast and completely shocking everyone. (With the exception of USSJ Trunks... he gave big characters a bad rep)
And I'd like to take back the statement I made before... the speculation of choosing which form you start the fight in seems to be more accurate.
Story mode from Dragonball through GT... plus movies? Even with 130 characters, that's a lot to boast. From his description, it sounds like story mode will be like DBZ 3, exploring a big 3D environment. That and the in-game transformations lead me to believe they wanted to make this game feel considerably more like the 'Budokai' line of games.
And I will officially state my position on the Wii... I hate it. I don't play games for the exercise, and I don't know how long I'd want to play a game that involves waving my arms around like a fool.

I actually have a little more faith in this game now (Seeing as how I didn't like the original Sparking! that much). After seeing that demonstration, it kinda of reminds me of "DragonBall Z 3" & how the moves are performed. The camera angles are more fixed now, especially with the overhead view & the way it's positioned when a character pulling their "Ultimate Move"?(Don't know what they're going to call it yet). The graphics look slightly better in motion now (Thank You Spike). All the teleportating looked really nice too. I'm looking foward to "Sparking! NEO" & "Super DBZ". Both games seem to be taking their unique direction towards the series.
