He really was disadvantaged. Like I said earlier, most of the channels didn't work and most of em weren't for kids. Cartoon Network was literally the only kid's network that was working in his cable. His TV was messed up and the signal was worse than gas station wifi. I don't know what kinda cable you had, but his was utter crap at the time.

Did you miss the part where I said there are books? "Worse than gas station wifi"? That sort of phrasing can only come from a millennial. I grew up with dial up, it wasn't that bad. You don't need to have an entire channel of kids shows to find good children's programming (or just good TV in general), even back then. And even assuming all he had was CN, he didn't find anything else on that channel to his liking beyond DBZ? What is your point in all this?

What is yours? All I originally said was that some members watched the dub because some only had that at the time. Then you come in trying to tell me everyone had options and that my brother in law could've done anything after I said that he couldn't. What are you trying to do here?

I'm not doing that thing where I ask what you're getting at and then you ask me it right back. I asked you first. Is your point really just that your friend had limited options and only had the dub to watch? Okay. Good for him, but I don't buy that as a reason why someone having a good reason to watch it everyday and dislike it to the point of constantly criticizing it.

I wasn't even trying to make you "buy" that point in the first place. I wasn't even talking to you when I made my original post.

This is starting to get to a weird place, so instead of bringing up something personal, I'll try to backtrack to before this diversion started. It started when someone made the point that "I've personally never been of the belief that "If you don't like it, don't watch/read it" is a valid dismissal of criticism" and somehow diverted into this.

Fine, you weren't talking to my with your original post, but this isn't a private message. The point of these threads is so any member can discuss these topics with the whole group.

Bring up something personal? What's that supposed to mean? If you really meant to backtrack, you wouldn't have said this.

I can agree with this. But I'm not sure what you were trying to say when you came in.

Not what I meant. You brought up your brother in law, hence the "something personal". I don't want this discussion to boil over, which is what I fear will happen the more we use your brother in law example.
I'm not sure what you were trying to say when you came in.
Not to sound like a jackass, but I don't want to reiterate what I wrote, so please go back and reread what I wrote and if you are confused, then ask for clarification. I don't know what wasn't clear.
