They would never be as stupid as to release base Goku and Vegeta as DLC. They will probably put the most hyped characters from Super in the DLC, along with some GT characters, like the SSJ4s, some movie ones and some fan-favorites from DB/DBZ they won't be able to include in the base roster.

As for regular Goku and Vegeta, I wouldn't care if they were in the base roster. Goku especially had some awesome moves from the 23rd BT to Namek.

So what can we expect regarding game modes? They've only talked about story mode and the online mode. Both sound great so far, specially the story mode.

I'm not familiar with Arc Systems to know; is Arcade Mode something they always include in their games?

ArcSys is famous for putting a crapload of modes in their games. I'd like to think this game will be no different. They're not Capcom in that regard.

DLC characters generally have to be extremely popular or have an incentive to buy them. Far less people are going to fork over $10 for Radditz and base Goku as they would for Hit and Goku Black.
If you read the comments at the official Bamco YT channel, it seems like there are a ton of people out there who would rather have 8 different versions of Goku then henchman/sidekick characters... which is sad, but that's how it is, Goku and Vegeta are the most popular characters in this franchise, and the main selling points of any game and DLC.
And if you read back on this topic, almost every page has someone wanting/hoping for Raditz, so i guess he also has his own fanbase.

Maybe BamCo finally wised up....
Unless, I'm getting it wrong; the FighterZ beta was on the PS4 and distributed in the same way that the Xenoverse betas were, in a way that would make datamining impossiable.

If base Goku and Vegeta are DLC they will almost definitely be free updates, like XV2's free content updates.

Black, Broly, Raditz & Bardock make sense but why waste everyone's $$$ and your reputation on 2 characters you already have with just black hair ? Having half the DLC be Saiyans isn't the best option but to have 2 of the other half also be saiyans but ones who are already in the game ? not a good idea.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Sometimes quality control needs to step foot on fanbase wishes, otherwise we`d get Ultimate Gohan, Future Gohan, Bra, Bardock, Turtles, Janemba and whatever disposable androids showing up on movies.

So far the base roster is mostly filled with (former) main and iconic characters and the two most popular choices + a new Boss character with Gero`s main move on steroids.

Kind of like "Oh well, since we did the models, have fun"

The DLC season will almost definatly have most Movies/Super content yet, with the Jirens, UL Goku, God Vegeta, Brolly, Beerus, Hit, whatever. If Raditz is in it will be for base roster which seems to aim to be more a collection of iconic status characters of the franchise.

While I'd rather not have Raditz in, it does make sense since the animations of most of the characters are based heavily on the work Arc already did in Extreme Butoden.

That's what I'm guessing too: base game with classic characters from DBZ and a few from the first half of DBS. The game's story seems to be tied to the main anime canon, so that would make sense, and the DLC would add some movie villains who weren't in the story mode, and some ToP characters.

I'm in the camp that would love to play as Base Goku and Base Vegeta (for whatever reason, those "early" variants were the most fun for me in the Tenkaichi games) but I'm not thrilled about them coming so soon. Low priority for sure, especially for Vegeta who's SSJ version already draws many of its animations from the Saiyan and Freeza arcs. If I had to see a third form of Vegeta in the game it would be Main Vegeta, who has so far been almost completely untouched in terms of animations. I suppose I'd also prefer to see Kid Goku over Base Goku but they're so radically different that I'd consider them different characters rather than one being a form of another. I hope that if they do include Base Goku and Base Vegeta as DLC they'll at least have the courtesy to put them in their old outfits instead of just doing a headswap like they did with the blues (who truth be told I would rank dead last in terms of forms I'd like to see, but whatever).

I have to point out it's not like there's a bunch of people in this thread who keep mentioning Raditz; it's the same two guys who keep him bringing him up. Not that I have a problem with it or anything. I'm just saying, certain opinions can be overrepresented on forums because of a motivated minority. At any rate, you can't take the pulse of the fanbase at large by what you happen to see on forums, anyway.

I'm saying this for those who say "this isn't what fans want" all the time.

As someone who wants their favorite character (Raditz) in this magnificent game, the only reason why I am not saying anything is that I am "wait and see" mode. There is no sense in counting your chickens before they hatch. If Raditz has anything going for him it is the fact he is the only Saiyan arc character not included, he was on the Extreme Butoden roster (a lot of the characters revealed were also on that roster), and none of the characters that would be expected to have scouters do not (Nappa and the Ginyu Force). If Raditz is included, the scouter could have some gameplay use like it does for him in Zenkai Battle (much like the Saibamen for Nappa).

As in terms of the leaks, if it is true Base Goku and Base Vegeta are DLC characters, then that makes about as much sense as Goku as a hidden character in a Dragon Ball game in the 21st century. It would be a horrible decision. I am expecting Broly, Bardock, Hit, and Goku Black (Rose) w/ Zamasu as DLC options.

You were one of the two guys. :P By the way, if you care to answer...what would you want your new name to be? ShadowRaditz?

C18 - Character Trailer is out!
I like her theme. It gives me 90s vibes.

Only SSB Goku and SSB Vegeta character trailers remain and then it's all about the new characters coming.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

They've actually been releasing one character trailer a week since late September. They can't keep that up forever, of course, but it does seem to make it more likely we'll see two new characters these next two weeks.
Usually goes by "Kevtrev" elsewhere online.
Draws comics that may or may not have been blatantly inspired by Akira Toriyama's manga.

The characters are usually revealed in V-Jump that leaks around the 18th day of each Month. This weekend we should get the next duo. :)

I have a feeling it will be Ultimate Gohan (or Gotenks) with Kid Buu.
