The rose pedals from the episode that ended showing Zamasu with them was all the information that we needed I guess we just didn't think it be that simple. I just at least there is more to it than just he took Goku's dead body and he actually had to fight against him in the otherworld or trick him in some way to steal his body.

This is messed up, so Zamasu switched minds with Goku from another timeline? and Zamasu from Future Trunks timeline is in cahoots with himself in Goku's body? and we have another one who got turned by sparkles courtesy of Beerus in the present timeline? so 3 timelines? Jesus...... for all we know there will be another Zamasu from a 4th timeline.

Future Trunks timeline wanted immortality and present Zamasu got deleted before wishing for something (or did he).
At least this is better than Black being a wish from Super Shenron.

It could be exclusive to Black because of his Kaioshin Ki.

But Did ginyu had different ki when goku switched bodies with him.. I remember him having the same ki signature but different intensity..

Although black does have similar ki to zamasu.. Maybe it's similar coz it's a mesh of goku's and his..

That's still dosen't cancel that rosé is not unlockable by our saiyan's though..
They must have a similar transformation otherwise how will their bodies support it..

It's funny to have the answer to the biggest question this arc. Only to be more confused with more questions.

Even funnier since the answer was fairly simple. Especially compared to all the speculation. Love it.

What's even better is that the cast's original idea on who Black is actually correct. [spoiler]They thought it was Zamasu originally but strayed away into thinking it was just a puppet/clone and it's actually Zamasu[/spoiler]

The core of what Black turned out to be (a combination of Zamasu and Gokuu) was the theory I thought was most likely, so I'm happy to see it was correct. It might be a slight letdown to learn this before the episode airs rather than watching it first, but since we don't know the details of which versions of these characters are involved, there's still some mystery to be solved. Was killing the present Zamasu akin to when Trunks and Kuririn blasted the still-forming Cell in the present timeline, stopping him from fulfilling his plans, and what's happening in the future is exclusively the work of a different Zamasu? Or did present Zamasu survive somehow (either just his spirit, or he somehow got immortality already) and he went to the future, did his body snatching plan, and recruited his future self to help him? Still some things to speculate about before the episode airs...

Also noticed that they used a different word for humanity in the mention of his "zero mortals plan" in the bottom portion of the description (jinrui instead of ningen). Come on, newspapers, don't be sloppy about this, or Zamasu will just use that as more reason to wipe us all out

Doubt there are three Zamasus, that sort of overconvoluted storytelling would be detrimental to the plot. Black's identity as Zamasu has to be related to present Zamasu's first meeting with Goku if it's going to make any sense and flow reasonably well.

[spoiler]This is my opinion but I hope it makes sense. There are indeed three Zamasus, who each have different pasts but the same goals. Present Zamasu was surprised to discover that his plans were exposed. However, we have to remember he wanted to create a "fake Goku" to use as a puppet. While I think Black is Zamasu from another timeline who switched his bodies with a different Goku, and Future Zamasu is someone who chose immortality over changing bodies or creating slave for his personal use.[/spoiler]

Black's body is the once dead body of Future Goku, and since the Super Dragon Balls can grant any wish (right?), Zamasu from whichever timeline switched with this body of Goku. This Goku being dead, had his "consciousness" transferred into Zamasu's body, which explains why there isn't a Goku with Zamasu's body running around.

Does this make any sense or is it just in my head?[/spoiler]

I mean if it is present Zamasu, that would mean that being literally turned to dust you can still live as an immortal. I can understand it if he still had a limb to regenerate from but if he is immortal he would literally just pop back into existence. Also that would be great acting on his end to act like him being killed that way was actually putting an end to him. It is just hard to think the present Zamasu is Black because Black came first before Goku even met Zamasu.

Now I just hope that Present Zamasu is gone for good and these two came to hate Goku for different reasons(Zamasu seeking out strong warriors in the afterlife, perhaps?)
Also looking forward to the Kaioshin/Hakaishin killing being confirmed in the upcoming episodes.

Maybe the 4th timeline Goku which in theory should be going through the same stuff that the present timeline is going through... IDK I thought I was on to something

[spoiler]Considering what's been revealed, I feel like what would make this more "dramatic", would be if Present Zamasu maybe used the Super DBs as a fail-safe, so in the event that Beerus (or any else) DOES kill him, He and Goku would switch bodies the moment he died, leaving Goku to suffer his fate, while he uses Goku's body for his own purposes. Apparently, that might not be the case anymore....[/spoiler]

There's no Trunks who can access the unseen timeline (he was killed by Cell, and then Cell further splintered the past). So it'd be a fairly different set of circumstances.

And we still don't know if Black's origin relies on some causal loop between the main timeline and Trunks', so it's possible Black never shows up in Cell's timeline at all.
