A sealing technique would probably work, like with Garlick Jr. I don't know about Boo's absorption. It's implied it works differently with gods and the ones Boo absorbed died. We know Zamas can't die, so I guess Zamas would find a way to escape from Boo's insides.

I think it's possible to argue Ox-King, Chappa, and Tsuru-sennin as capable of rivaling Gohan. One after the other, it's possible to wear him down.

Mummy-kun beats Ox-King and Namu without too much issue, but likely falls to King Chappa. I'd say that King Chappa probably has the strength and skill advantage over Akkuman, but he's done for if he gets hit with the Akkumaito Beam. Crane Hermit would probably be a match for Grandpa Gohan. Mr. Satan wins the whole thing through plot-armor.

Round 2: Tao-Pai-Pai blows through them all until meeting his match with Grandpa Gohan.

It can be argued that they weren't shocked at Goku winning, but at how effortlessly he won. Keep in mind, killing Taopaipai was still an incredibly large deal even by the 22nd Budokai. When Muten Roshi, Ten and the others found out Goku did it, they were just as shocked as they were when he fodderized Chappa.

He starts running in all directions and grasping the air at incredible speeds. His left hand middle finger recedes, facing an invisible obstacle. His humongous fist starts raining in the direction of the invisible obstacle, hitting hard and soft surfaces, "someone just got a broken jaw".
The Invisible Man lied on the floor, the bloodied and broken Man.

Ox-King vs Mummy-kun: Two minutes in, the giant finally falls. Mummy had a clear power advantage yet the Ox-King amazing resistance made him tire Mummy a bit and lose with his head standing high.

Namu vs Mummy-kun: While Namu is above the Ox-King, the difference isn't much. Mummy-kun uses quick punches to damage and confuse the devotee of Buddha. Wide open, Namu is an easy target for the powerful high right kick, which sends him flying to the wall.

King Chappa vs Mummy-kun: Chappa covers the distance between them in a instant. A right! A left! The Mummy crashes on the wall! "Put it back on the tomb" smirked Chappa to Urunai Babba.

King Chappa vs Akkuman: The former Tenkaichi Budokai winners were having a fight for the ages, Akkuman appeared to display a slight power advantage which wasn't enough to make much impact.
Eighteen minutes in both fighters were grabbing their chests, sucking air desperately. They were both at their limits.
They start a final rush, their punches cross... For a moment, they both stand tall. They hit the ground at the same time, it's a tie!

Tsuru-sennin vs Grandpa Gohan: Recognizing his rivals student, Tsuru-sennin starts laughing at the opportunity in front of him. I'll enjoy this! Gohan immediately recognizes the gap in power. He lifts all the tiles he can and throws them at the raven, who interrupts his laugh.
Tsuru, decides to break the tills instead of dodging them, blocking his vision while doing so. Gohan creeps up in his blindside and delivers his signature move Jan Ken! It hits, his masters rival is now on the ground grabbing his eyes. "Damn it! I'm going to murder you!"
Kaa-mee-haa-mee...hhaaaaaaaaa! Nobody can see anything through the dust. After a while, a voice cuts the air, followed by a yellow beam. Dodonpa.
Gohan survives but loses the fight. There's a glimmer of respect in Tsuru-sennin eyes while he wobbles out of the arena.

I have Taopaipai a bit above Grandpa Gohan. He loses due to soloing the tournament.
