I'm the most interesting man in the world, because I just drank some Dos Equis!" All that talk about the consumption of alcohol, only to find out you can't even handle a shot of raspberry schnapps. F***in' lightweight.

Seriously, though, great job. My brother doesn't even visit daizex/listen to the podcast/know much about you, and he even thought you did a great job. It was genuinely good, not just stunt casting.

That was a fantastically silly episode. One of the absolute best of the Namek arc so far. It jumped around a lot but doing so only added to the marvelous sense of random goofiness. The little musical number halfway through was wonderfully executed, and it and the "message" after it had me rolling. I'm so envious of you guys getting to make this series.

I like how you poked fun at how nobody noticed Vegeta's evil laughing when he found the Dragon Balls in the original show. I always thought that was weird.

Hehehe, Goku's dealing with King Kai via fake dialtone made me think of something Homestar Runner once did (in one of Marzipan's Answering Machines, I think). Which... was... basically the same thing. XD

The guy Appule references is "Eechpay" (not sure what spelling they like; it's a rearranged "Peach" for a fruit pun), who is the one that gets killed and references Appule's name as he plummets back in their dub of the Bardock special... thus, Appule beating the crap out of Bardock in the Sparking! METEOR footage (speaking of which, props to Innagadadavida for helping provide that!).

Oh, so that's what he said. I didn't get that reference at all. And I call myself a Dragon Ball fan. I'm not worthy to be on these forums at all. *Sobs*

EDIT: It was obviously funny because of that Vegeta thought that Zarbon was homosexual, but what we found out was that he made the same mistake as Zarbon; throwing out comments that could be taken as something that is related to a homosexual orientation.
This puts a quite interesting thought in our heads, whether homosexual mannerisms are really put into stone and makes a homosexual person recognizable by using them, or whether we have just made them up to calm our homophobic psyches.
This, of course, can be used in comedy to portray a confused individual struggling with the recognition.
I mean, in this particular scene, we have to do with an alien man wearing ear-rings and thigh-highs and using an aristocratic way of speaking.
Of course, we would in this case think of him as a homosexual man (even though he is an alien and we know nothing of his species' reproductive capabilities), and if we add in the dialog the Team Four Star guys have added in, it makes us directly believe that he is in fact, a homosexual.
The twist here now, is that Zarbon has in fact a girlfriend, and is misinformed and clumsy in his way of expressing himself.
We find out that Vegeta, being stressed by his confusion regarding Zarbon's sexuality, begins to throw out such similar clumsy expressions, putting him into a stressed state. And the conclusion is that in the end, it all boils down into our prejudice and our cliché views on the homosexual community as a whole.

But then we can agree on that it's a darn comedy show, and that funny shit is funny. Humor isn't always explainable, and if we are to explain ourselves in a thread about a parody, the whole fun-ness gets destroyed, because I don't think that anyone enjoyed the text I just wrote at all.
And I believe that most people here have made the same conclusions I have made, which makes explaining unnecessary, which is the reason that I didn't write an explanation, as I don't see my fellow forum members as dumb fucks.

It was from when he was transforming into a Great Ape when fighting Goku. They replaced/altered the background however.

Ah! That's why I didn't hear it right. Appule says "Eachpay" and not "Pierre." I was juts repeating what KaiserNeko told me. Which apparently, was before the error was fixed.

At the end when Appule dies he says "Here I come Eachpay."

You'd have to follow extremely close to get that joke. I don't believe anyone would pick it up without a little direction.

Naw, I got the joke without having any help. I didn't even remember the Appule reference in the Burdock Abridged special, I just put the pieces together somehow.
