Couple things:

This thread is exclusively for showing off some cool stuff. If you have personal conversations that need to take place, please take them elsewhere. Things like buying items from each other, asking for in-depth, extra information about things that can't be covered in a single post... please either take it all to PMs, or create a new thread if it's worth it.

Additionally, the moderators cannot and will not continue to clean up your posts to this extent. When you registered on this forum, you agreed to the rules which explicitly state that you will type properly and will be corrected in bold-red as a first reminder if you do not. Those who speak English as their primary language have no excuses. Warnings will be issued after this point if folks cannot compose legible posts.

sorry! it wont happen again. Hey, serious thought, maybe you should make a new thread SPECIFICALLY for Buy/Selling/Trading Dragonball items among the community here :D. As people make trades, you could keep track of feedback among users

@ Legend, I sent you a PM.

I agree though, if a trading post thread doesn't exist already... one should be created so we can test it out.

I probably don't have anything that hasn't already been posted in this thread... Except for these bad boys:

They're not in perfect condition but I figure they look really great for being probably a decade old, maybe more. As a side note, I really don't want to let go of these but I'm currently trying to pay for college and these may be the only ones of their kind. Most stores just throw this stuff away, and I found these long after they were being used as store displays. I honestly have no clue what store these might have been displayed in. if anyone's interested in these shoot me a PM. I'm honestly not even sure how I would ship them, they're colossal! I'd figure out something though...

Meh. I really don't mean to be harsh, but I absolutely hate those art pieces. They're simply stock images plastered together with some wacky polygons splattered in the background. Lazy, and a cheap Americanized re-imaging; reminiscent of straight to TV Disney production advertisement art in a way.

I totally agree, there are hundreds of other Dragon Ball products and promos that don't use "stock images" in place of original art. Seriously? Come on, there probably aren't any more of these left, or very few and probably in worse shape. I was elated when I found them, finally collectibles that I knew almost for certain no other fan has... an "I don't like them" would have sufficed man.

Nom, nom, sarcasm tastes funny. Please, if I simply said "I don't like them" the odds of demanding a reasoning would presumably have surfaced. I like to play it safe and always latch a tidbit of insight to my opinions, and/or statements.

Other than collecting just for kicks, I honestly don't see the appeal in poorly designed, unoriginal, and uninspiring photoshop vectored versions of the characters. But, that's just me.

I get where you're coming from with the Z Warriors group shot, I can't for the life of me figure out why they positioned Goku in a way that obscured Piccolo and Trunks' faces, or didn't place the characters in panels more toward the corners of the display. I also can't figure out why they chose to have Goku appear twice, instead of using someone like Gohan or something. I'm quite fond of the other bill board though, maybe it would look better to you in person? I don't know, different strokes...

Honestly, the weird faults and inconsistencies I described above are kind of the reason why the displays are so fascinating to me. They capture a time in DBZ's popularity that was really odd in general, a time when FUNimation and DBZ's various sub-licensees were able to produce so much simple stuff like this with seemingly minimal effort and have people consume the hell out of it like wild fire. They capture a time in which the sheer mass of the series' viewers rivaled that of sporting events and live-action dramas, a time in which tons of regular people in general wore DBZ t-shirts without being poked fun at or ridiculed, while also having a huge impact on pretty much every kid in America that happened to flip on Cartoon Network. I remember as a child catching my dad's friends up to when Trunks first appeared after everything that had happened in the Saiyan, Namek, and Freeza Sagas, and from there they were hooked. Memorabilia was everywhere and in the midst of all of that then, I never thought it would ever end. I always thought Dragon Ball Z would go on to be like the 21st century's Star Wars in the US.

With that said, it's so strange to me how much the franchise's popularity in general has dissipated since then. I mean yeah, video games are still popular and Dragon Ball Z Kai has good ratings from what I hear, but really... Will a time like what I've described ever come again? Hopefully the simplistic design sense won't rear it's head again, but I'd love to see stuff like actual Dragon Ball Z action figures hit stores en mass again. Bandai's most recent attempt to re-boost the franchise in the US felt so pitifully phoned in, and the DB:E stuff made it even worse. Those figures strangely grew on me later on, but I'm still really dissapointed about it in general.

So yeah, that's my reasoning for being so into these things. You can still find sealed Movie Collection figures, Beckett Collector magazines, and other quirky, gimmicky stuff from the time I describe on eBay practically every day, but these are truly relics from a time that may never repeat itself...

Kunzait_83, while in most cases far too long winded for my tastes, wrote a seminal post regarding how strange DBZ's popularity in the US was at the time, unfortunately I forget exactly what thread that was in. I wish he would read this and elaborate on what I'm talking about a little more.

A Strange time indeed. I happen to own a few items that date back to the hey-day of Dragonball Z in North America (the Beckett Collectors' magazines are a hoot. ) . Consequently, although I do understand your sentiments, I personally wouldn't care too much to preserve a keepsake from that era. Then again, my comments might just come and bite me in the ass one day as I progress to yearn a quick shot of nostalgia in the arm.

That post (and others of yours) were edited by a moderator because of numerous grammatical errors. You can read more about it in the forum rules, which you agreed to upon registering. Please try to put more effort into your posts in the future.

Well in my option they both need work but seriously the Evolution Movie should of rocked instead we get a green painted alien as Piccolo with the power to control Oozaru which was never even mentioned in the series as for the the badly dubbed movie from Japan. I truly think that should have stayed in Japan where people know the language it was recorded in.
