But you can still visit the sites from outside the US. The same way YouTube bans access to certain videos in regions and allows in others.

SOPA in its original form would have let them DNS block foreign sites within the US. In cases where they did that and only that, the site would still be accessible elsewhere. DNS blocking can lead to all sorts of problems, though, which is one of the reasons a lot of internet companies were really against it.

Well I am, I never wanted Obama from the beginning. I was little younger, but I could still see he was an idiot and typical politician. People blindly voted because they wanted someone that wasn't white in office, because apparently having a black president is "groundbreaking" because of the orientation of the previous presidents. His socialist ideas were about as brilliant as anything brought on by Carter, but no, people wanted a crooked liberal that clearly showed no signs of "changing" the country.

I had a teacher back then, an old woman. She would press her political views on the class with another younger teacher from next door (which is illegal of course). She had no idea what she was talking about, she insisted Obama was going to fix the economy a few months after being elected into office; and I quote what she told us,

"You're all very lucky, going off into the world soon as young individuals. Obama's going to create great opportunities for you, the job markets going to be flourishing. This is the first time we've had a black president and it's about time this country got one,"

We had to write letters that year too, to him of course. I insisted there wasn't a point because it'd just be filtered through some mailing system and likely read by someone that's so low in administration that they'd not even read most of them due to time. She once more, insisted that Obama or his personal mailing staff would read them because "he cares". I also questioned why we were writing to him out of the rest of the candidates, only to be completely ignored. This all transpired in... October-November of 2008. So I wrote my letter, explaining what was wrong with the stimulus package being proposed and how Obama and the people he endorsed were nothing but crooks. I also went on to say how he'd still be giving billions of dollars to other countries for no good reason like Bush was. She rejected my letter and we got into a large argument, I called her out about how she's not allowed to influence students based on her political opinion, etc. Long story short, she never bothered to argue with me again.

I'll be voting for Romney, seeing that I'm assuming he'll be the main ticket for the Republican party.

I don't have an opinion on Obama, since I don't live in America nor am I that involved in American politics. I don't think his race was the only reason that he was voted into office (although I'm not saying that you are). I mean, of course, a lot of people probably did, but I think a large number of people genuinely trusted him and agreed with his policies. And he's practically assured re-election because of the revelation of Osama Bin Laden's supposed death.

He's not even close to being assured a victory; he didn't kill Osama nor did he play a major part in such, we've been trying to find him since Bush y'know with all those covert operations. The military is to thank for his death, not Obama or the Obama Administration. He won the election by a slightly large margin, but if it would've come down to the popular vote, he'd have won by a very small percentile. It's not like this is Reagan's elections we're talking about:

As you can see by the popular vote, it was pretty neck and neck. As far as the Electoral College goes, it wasn't a 90 - 10 margin (70 -30). Also considering he hasn't done anything besides trying to make America a socialist haven, and you know, making the economy worse.

Isn't that basically what SOPA wanted to be able to do? Maybe a better written version could have managed it without SOPA's problems, but...it's tricky.

SOPA was about a lot more than just stopping piracy or blocking a few sites. Coupling this with the NDAA, things aren't looking good.

Also, I remember hearing that the author of SOPA is hiring some lawyers to rewrite it in a more "ambiguous" way so that it does the same thing (Possibly more), but people won't realize it.

That's why I said "damn near impossible". And you can't always "know" people. Politics makes you power-mad; it's simply the nature of the job. A lot of politicians used to be good people like us, but then they changed. I understand that being a politician is hard and stressful, and we can't always know the ins and outs of it and what goes through their heads, but that still doesn't excuse the immoral decisions many make at the expense of the innocent public.

Well all the main American media stations are controlled by the government (hence why when CNN reported that a plane hadn't crashed into the Pentagon, it was never re-aired like a lot of other reports... Such as the reported phone call of a woman's testament inside the building saying she heard bombs going off before she died [with the operators clear knowledge of knowing she was going to die] and whatnot).

The truth is, the Bush Administration started these covert operations in the Middle East to find Osama and the FBI's most wanted terrorists. It was rather ingenious how Osama got away with it all, but that's another story. It's the equivalent to if the King of Earth passed away before Cell died and a new king took over. If we were to say Gohan for some stupid reason was working for the Royal Army and beat Cell for them, it wouldn't mean the new king's administration is responsible. The operations were all set fourth by the previous administration.

I still digress, I know people that wouldn't go "power mad" or "corrupt" under stress. Maybe other things, but none of those. I feel a lot of people are just too greedy from the gecko and these qualities are just amplified when in a position of power (of course that's not always the case, some people do fall victim to stress, but every single situation has a cause and effect, thus rendering every situation different and complex). Point is, it isn't near impossible, I'm sure there's actually some political figures in lower positions that're none of those things. I know for sure, there's people out there that aren't in politics and have no desire to be in politics that wouldn't fall victim to any of it.

Anyhow, I'm questioning what any of this has to do with SOPA and how we got onto the topic of Obama and what a mediocre - terrible leader he is? Something to do with Hollywood and his reelection as I recall. That reminds me of what a hypocritical idiot Bill Maher is:
