Admittedly, I don't read much Shonen-type stuff, but it seems to me like that sort of thing became super popular after the debut of Trunks. I mean, Dragon Ball is influential like that.
This will never not be my sig:

I can't believe this is on-topic.

Yeah that's probably true.

The debut of Future Trunks is just so damn cool though - what fan wouldn't write that? :P

Before the Easter weekend, over the past 25 days, I worked 22 of them. Fourteen of those days were in a row. On the three days off I had, I worked a little on freelance projects. So hopefully you will forgive me for being off the radar lately. But I've been watching a lot of Dragon Ball in what little spare time I've had. So enjoy this DBD, and pay attention for the CONTEST!
Contest?

Oooooh

And man I like the music for each arc here lol

I kinda wish they did more with yajirobe too

What one fan may call an awesome debut, another fan may refer to as a jump the shark moment.

Can't believe I forgot the trip to Namek. Looks like, as a phoenix rising from the ashes, the panty count shall return... briefly!

Your dedication to detail is humbling, as demonstrated by correcting the chapter release dates, is humbling, I must say.

I agree with Yajirobe; he's introduced quickly and does nothing to resolve the arc beyond killing Cymbal, but Toriyama never sets him up for anything else, unlike the other combatant characters to now, so his drop off is never a missed opportunity. I find Dragon Ball's demon signs great across the board. Tambourine's reaction to Krillin's poster is really funny to me for some reason, probably because he is always either blank and cold or conniving, seeing any other expression out of him sticks.

Regarding the tournament roster- how would the characters get to that information in any helpful length of time even if it was public? The necessity of keeping private is kind of secondary.

Has MistareFusion seen Kai's dub? Any other Anime?

I've seen a little bit of it. I briefly talk about it in my "The Complete Dragon Box Collection Review." As for other anime, do you mean other anime in general or other anime dubs? Either way, I don't go out of my way to follow anime, but I used to be a big Tenchi Muyo! fan. And was pretty big into Ranma 1/2 although mostly the manga. In both cases, I primarily watch the original version, but I have seen the dubs of both.

Funny you mention Ranma 1/2, I just got back from buying the new 2-in-1 manga. The new manga purchase compliments my purchasing of the new Ranma Blu-Ray. 8)

I'm really interested in when you cover the TV material. Will it just be filler, or will you include differences? As we mentioned Yamcha's battle with the Mummy was different, as was Tenshinhan's battle with Drum.

There is also a lot behind-the-scenes topics I was going to mention to you about Yamcha and Tenshinhan's VA's, but we didn't get to the 22nd Budokai...yet!

You should see more of Kai's dub. I dunno, maybe for your future dissections including the Anime.

Thank you for the idea. I'm not going to necessarily rule it out, but I will say, as it stands now, it's not likely I will be. I've never followed Kai very extensively. I don't own any of it or have any plans to. In a comprehensive sense, covering the English dub of Dragon Ball Kai doesn't really fit in with Dragon Ball Dissection. The main idea behind it is analyzing the source material, the manga, and judging how it tells its story. While the anime series in general may seem pretty far off the mark from that goal, the idea of those supplementary videos will be to highlight the differences in storytelling between it and the source. Since Kai is re-edited footage and hews more closely to the manga, there's really very little left to cover that the other two won't. And as for the dub, I really don't cover it. I've made my thoughts somewhat clear that I'm overall impressed with the dub of Kai, but I just really don't have much to say beyond that and little interest in actually sitting down and watching it. And while nitpicking and documenting every little change is right up my geeked-up, obsessive-compulsive alley, not sure how I could make such a thing interesting. As much as I love it, I'm not DBZ Uncensored. And if Chris Psaros had had the Kai dub or something of an equivalent caliber back in the late '90s, I doubt even he could have sustained an entertaining website with so little to work with or would have even felt it was necessary to do so!

And when it comes right down to it, between the manga, the movies, the adaptation, my other videos, and real life, chances are I'm already looking at another 5 years of Dragon Ball Dissection, and to add more...

Oh, God. I feel faint... :wtf:

Just found out that Toru Furuya was once married to Mami Koyama, I guess Yamcha did have an affair with Lunch like I was saying.

That also means Tuxedo Kamen hooked up with Green Esmeraude, will Usagi allow this?

Whoah. I did not know that. Do you know when/for how long? Shame they aren't together anymore.

EDIT: Wow. '76-'83. So before DB even started. And then they had to work together and share scenes for a few years. As someone who's had to work on a stage with his ex on a daily basis, all I can say is, that sounds really awkward and unpleasant.

They were also in Gundam and Saint Seiya together, alongside Hirotaka Suzuoki (Tenshinhan)!

Does Yamcha ever interact with Lunch in the anime?
