Third Bulma looks sexier. Second Freeza spent too much time tanning. I like the orange scouter, didn't Nappa also have an alternate colour in his first appearance in the anime?

I second this. That is totally the steering wheel. I think it's meant to be all blue with white leggings. The exposed tummy does make her look sexier I think, or maybe I just like tummies x)

Oh shoot, you're both right!! :o How could I not see this?? (I mean, if that was her belly, what would she be holding to drive?!)
And I wasn't even startled by the fact that a simple coloring process for the book would go as far as modifying a costume...
But at least her panties are white, right?!

Alright, I'll reunify her costume next week! (leaving a note that it is mistaken and will be corrected soon)
Should I make her legs white as well or keep it "pantyhose" skin tone as it is?
I mean, we really don't see past the white panties, so can we assume anything without proof or do we stick to the default (full color) manga version. Either way, the description will state we don't actually her legs in the original artwork.

About Nappa, I'll check that with the Anime Comics.

I don't think there are any "panties" in the image. I'm pretty sure she was drawn a bit odd, but the bit beneath the steering wheel is probably supposed to be her leg/butt. Though because of the image quality and coloring style, I'm not sure if it's supposed to be exposed flesh or white pantyhose.
Direct translations of the Korean DB Online timeline and guidebook.
My personal "canon" and BP list. (Coming Soon)

Thanks for reminding me of that Tao Pai Pai version, Fox666.

After super-zoom examination, I think you right. Right beneath her hand, there's an ellongated blue triangle that's likely the part covering her butt. So the white part would indeed be her leg.
Zooming and comparing the colors, the pantyhose is the exact same tone as her white wrist bandages, which is not the same than her skin. So I'm sure your second hypothesis is the right one, she's supposed to wear white pantyhose in that artwork.
Thanks for all the remarks, we should be able to have a correct version now. 8)

UPDATE: BARDACK / BROLY / C-17 / COOLER / FREEZER / MAJIN BOO / SON GOKU / SON GOTEN / TEN SHIN HAN / YAMCHA / ZABON

CORRECTION:
My interpretation of The World's little artwork for Bulma was terribly wrong and thanks to you guys, I could come up with a more accurate version.
ImageImage
LEFT: Wrong version. - RIGHT: Corrected version.
A "video game special" as promised, apart from Bulma's emergency correction.
I find many of those versions very cool, especially those for the game Ultimate Butoden, but some versions from the Supersonic Warriors series are quite amazing too. 8)
I included Bulma's correction so that you can compare her corrected The World version with other versions without having to track her back at page 1.

BARDACK:

ImageImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Budokai 3 version. The alternative outfit for this game shows a grey-blue armor, probably inspired by Toma.
3) Raging Blast 2 version. The DLC outfit for this game has Bardack wearing Vegeta's armor, with a red scouter.
4) Ultimate Butoden version. An alternative costume for this game having a lot of blue: cyan-like blue for the armor (with purple pecs), blue for the hand bandages and head bandage. For the render above, the head bandage is not shown but the scouter is there - while it doesn't appear in-game - and was colored the same blue as what the head bandage would have been (which in turn is the same than the hand bandages) because leaving the scouter green took away the overall very blue model wanted for this game.

BROLY:

ImageImageImage
ImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Super Butoden 2 version. For the alternative outfit from this Super NES video game, the round jewels are green and he has yellow hair. The pants have a very slight blue tint (you really need to have it side to side with the original outfit to see it) and the "skirt" is still red, but slightly more orangy.
3) Budokai 3 version. For the alternative costume in this game, we have red jewels, a desaturated purple "skirt", and "dirty dark" pants.
4) Ultimate Butoden version. Alternative clothing for this game. It shows an overall very green scheme. The skirt has its own shade of green (closer to yellow), while the accessories all share the same shade of green (closer to blue), and the jewels are purple.
5) Zenkai Battle Royale version. One of the alternative appearances from this game looks like a rougher version of Broly, with all-dark grey (with a hint of yellow remaining) accessories, a desaturated almost-black "skirt" and pants a little darker than his usual pure white.

BULMA:

ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Full-Color Manga, with purple hair as usual and a sexy red color instead of black.
3) The World version. The usual purple hair (a bit faded in this case), with a blue bunny outfit this time. The legs share the exact same tint than her wristles, which mean they're meant to be white.

COOLER:

ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Budokai 3 version. An alternative costume for this video game. The lower layers of armor are grey/white (losing the overall blue/green tint of the original), while the most proeminent layers of armor are red. That contrast between the various layers of armor brings an interesting style to this version.
3) Supersonic Warriors 2 version. An alternative, very completely-metallic-like appearance for this game. Seeing him like this, you can actually imagine how it must hurt your fist when punching him!

FREEZER:

ImageImageImage
ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Original Manga version. The difference is quite subtle... Can you see it? In the manga, Freezer's mouth (including his tongue and gengiva) is all blue inside, similarly to other villains. His blood is blue as well.
3) Limited palette version. To adapt to the limitation of colors for some manga pages, Toriyama showed Freezer as now having grey tongue and gengiva (which is an expected consequence of the missing blue tint), but pitch black "crystals" on the tyrant's body. The result is pretty interesting.
4) Super Butoden version. With the alternative appearance from this Super NES video game, no more purple, it's cold blue for Freezer.
5) Hyper Dimension version. The alternative version from this Super NES video game shows the purple parts gone desaturated-red/brown, while the body has a "sicker", slightly yellowish tone.
6) Ultimate Butoden version. Icy turquoise for this game's alternative Freezer.

MAJIN BOO:

ImageImage
1) Anime version / Original Manga version.
2) Supersonic Warriors version. A pretty dark, faded purple for this game's alternative outfit. The yellow part of his wrists turns orangy too. That version is also used for the Supersonic Warriors 2, albeit a little bit brighter.

SON GOKU:

ImageImageImage
ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Last part of Dragon Ball Anime version. In the pre-Z original Dragon Ball series, as soon as Goku shows up all grown-up and gets his Kame Sen gi, his clothes change a bit: the under-shirt and the belt are both black. At the time, the Kame Sen symbol was also yellowish.
3) Original Manga / Full-Color Manga version. Goku's most famous outfit is not red, but orange in the manga. Different tints of this orange, sometimes going to yellow, were used throughout the artworks. All in all, Goku is supposed to wear the monks' colors according to Toriyama in the Daizenshu interview.
4) DBZ 2 Super Battle version. For this video game's alternative costume, the gi is immaculate white, with just a slight blue tint (only visible on shadows) that makes it look all the more bright white. The blue under-clothes are also much darker. I find this version pretty interesting, it gives an idea of a western-style Goku, where his outfit forgets about Shaolin influences and becomes more of a Karate costume. Note that the Kame Sen symbol does not appear in-game.
5) Supersonic Warriors version. Pretty cool alternative version for this game, with the dark blue usually used for his undershirt and accessories as the main color this time, and white-turning-to-grey undershort and accessories.
6) Burst Limit version. The alternative outfit for this video game shows a reversed color scheme for Goku, inverting the blue and orange, although not necessarily in the same shades.

SON GOTEN:

ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Original Manga version. Goten doesn't sport blue like his father, he's more into black in the manga, and man, that fits him quite well!
3) Ultimate Butoden version. Purple gi, and a slightly blue tint for the underclothes (that's strikes the eye thanks to the comparison with his black hair, but it's still nowhere as blue as the anime version)!

TEN SHIN HAN:

ImageImage
1) Anime / Original Manga version.
2) Ultimate Butoden version. I like him more when green turns to blue and red turns to green for this video game's alternative costume.

YAMCHA:

ImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Ultimate Butoden version. Desaturated blue-almost-indigo for this alternative version for a game.

ZABON:

ImageImageImage
ImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Chapter 255 version (with Kanzenban touch). Zabon appears with a totally white skin, wears dark blue sleeves and brighter blue jewels and eyes. He also has a shade of green that goes more towards a yellow tint, being somehow "leaf green". The armor has a slightly different tint as well. Note that the cape does not appear and was left as is in the render above. Nor does the scouter, which is depicted as blue here based on the Kanzenban covers showing they do exist as blue, and given that Zabon seems to have a fondness for that color in that version.
3) Daizenshuu 150 version. This version has an almost white skin with a subtle tint of blue that is only visible through shadows (comparing the shadows of the skin to the shadows of the white armor helps to perceive that hint of a blue tint). The sleeves and eyes are purple this time, but we don't see the panties and can't know how they would be affected by the overall color scheme. The hair have a more vibrant shade of green in that artwork, going more towards the blue side than the yellow one. The cape does not appear on the artwork. Nor does the scouter, which is based on the dark blue scouter worn by Dodoria in the very same illustration for the render above (it is likely that Zabon would have the same since he seems to like purple/blue accessories/clothes).
4) Ultimate Battle 22 version. A simple switch between the blue and pink/purple elements is enough sometimes to create an alternative appearance for a game.
5) Ultimate Butoden version. Red on Zabon, that's not something you see everyday. Namely, the sleeves are purple, but the cape and legs and panties are very red, although tending towards pink a little.

I think blue gi Yamucha looks quite nice on him.

Piccolo (Jr) has two other manga color schemes. When he first appears in a color chapter - in chapter 178 - he has a purple belt and black gi, not unlike his father's 2nd colors (as you show on this topic's page 1); the same colors appear on chapter 205. On chapter 187 he has a blue belt and a purple gi (not the exact same tones used in the anime but close).

And apparently green Pilaf really is a thing.

I'm done with Shin Butouden, should be added to the archive soon.

Shin Butouden has been added to the archive.

Also, been forgetting to mention this one:
In Dragon Ball Heroes, Galaxy Mission 6, card 31, specific code HG6-31, Cui wears an armour with white breast plates and his jumpsuit appears to be dark red. TheDevilsCorpse should have an image for the card, or someone who downloaded his picture packs should.

Also, Mr. Popo has a new color scheme in the new Full Color manga (red crystal and a brown-red shirt with white lines).

Hmm, I've never seen Shin Butoden, can't wait to discover more alternative costumes. 8)
And thanks for the full-color thing, it's pretty useful to have those cause I can only catch up to it as they are revealed by the Mangapolo channel, so it's always handy to know about alternative colors that are featured on those volumes.

The last update was bigger than usual specifically because I knew I wouldn't be to update this week and I sort of hoped the unusual number of characters updated would somehow catch up for this.
I have to scan and color-correct old photographs for the family reunion for this three-days week-end and it kinda takes away my picture-editing time until then.

Well, Shin Butoden's sprites are the same as Ultimate Battle's. The difference is that these were the originals, so they are much better, cleaner, crispier. For Ultimate Battle they were compressed and look like ass. But for some reason all the palette swaps are different. Don't expect surprises, only beautiful sprites :P and stages too!

I thought it was weird that there wasn't an update :P It's okay buddy, this is mostly a hobby anyway :D

There's also an anime coloration of Tenshinhan missing.
During his first Tenka'ichi Budokai in the Dragon Ball anime he has purple pants instead of the green used in the original and full-color manga (note that in the original manga he has yellow socks and in the full color he has white socks).
ImageImage

Also, Goku's boots are different in the full color manga (red lines with white string) when compared to the original manga (white lines and string) but that's not something important considering your images only show the upper part of the body.

You could add Kaioken Goku to the topic as well considering the now has 3 different color schemes: Anime, Limited Colors palette, and new Full Color Manga (please ignore the annoying watermark).

Some previews for the Freeza arc colored manga are out.
Freeza and the Ginyus (well, Ghurd at least  ) have their manga color scheme (never noticed that the tip of Freeza's tail was the same color of his skin - light pink - on the manga 'til now).
As for our favourite Super transformation... he has blue eyes, instead of that greenish-blue tone he has everywhere.

Now that the family project is done and has been shown, I can go back to that recoloring project with the usual weekly update.
However, a new kind of additionnal bonus for some of the pictures is crossing my mind, but I have to check if I can properly do it or not and if it does work well, I have to ask a certain person for his authorization to proceed.
So really, nothing's done at this point, but there might be a new "bonus" idea on the way (even though that kind of "bonus" would not apply to ALL versions currently available, I would have time to make this bonus available only for a few versions - after all, there is more than 325 different versions in this thread at the time of this post, not counting dual pictures showing a same version).

For the blue-eyed Super Saiyan, I'm waiting for the actual release of the volumes to have more pictures, so that everyone can agree that they are undoubtedly blue, since I expect a possible case of "you see them as blue but they're actually not" comments otherwise. :) Let's wait a few weeks so that the blue eyes are not subject to debates and are widely accepted by fans as being indeed blue in the released product. 8)

GENERAL UPDATE:

- The presentation has been revised to be a bit easier to follow: the names of versions are now in bold and underlined, with the description starting on the next line. However, it is not applied everywhere and will spread as days go by.

- Full body renders are now included for some versions. If you spot Goku's legendary orange and blue colors, click to see the full render.

UPDATE: BOJACK / MISTER SATAN / SON GOHAN / SON GOKU / TRUNKS / VEGETA / ZANGYA

Sorry for the delay, I had a 503 error that cut me when I was right in the middle of updating (which happens quite often when trying to connect lately, there must be something weird with my computer or my connection).
Nothing serious, but I had to interrupt the updating for a while!
Plus, the new options for this thread took more time to implement than I expected!

Next week, I'll try to check back the pages of this thread and do something about most of your propositions and requests.
I hope you'll be happy with the full renders even though they are smaller than the awesome HD originals (Photobucket won't upload beyond 800 pixels). I think it should be enough to see the details you might want to check though.
I won't do it for all previous versions, but I can upload the anime ones without problem (since they're just the originals without any recoloring to do), and I might do the Full-Color Manga and Kanzenban ones so that you at least have the anime and manga most important versions, we'll see in due time.
It's more than 3:30 a.m. here right now so even though I tried to be careful, I might have put a link to a full render that doesn't fit the right version, so if you bump into a mistake, just tell me and I'll see about it next time!

Also, there's no original render for Bojack and Zangya, so I had to make one myself from the Budokai Tenkaichi 3 character presentation, which explains why those renders might seem more edgy and angular than the more impressive usual renders.
And to finish, you may wonder why I had to add yet another Goku render for alternative versions. That's because that alternative color is unusually red, but the anime version of base Goku is already red, so it wouldn't have seem like a much of a difference. So I had to add a fully dressed Super Saiyan Goku - often represented as wearing orange even in the anime, though there are instances where he wears red even in Super Saiyan such as against Cell if I remember - so that you would get how the red clothes are indeed a palette swap, with the same unusual feeling you'd have seeing him in the game.

BOJACK:

ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Toriyama version.
The original Toriyama design had Bojack sporting a green skin and orangy red hair, with yellowish-tainted pants. Those traits are common to all of his henchmen in his original design.
3) Super Butoden 2 dialogue version.
In this game, Bojack's alternative design appears as an exclusive version during dialogues, having a different alternative color scheme during the fights (as well as his "transformed" appearance). He has Toriyama's design original yellowish tint for the pants, and most notably a blue skin. A purple coat and orange jewels are among other chances, as well as a red "pants lock".

MISTER SATAN:

ImageImageImage
ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Original Manga version N°1 / Kanzenban version N°1.
This black outfit is shown on several artworks in the Boo saga, as well as in color pages. It's also a back cover of the Kanzenban, but Mr. Satan appears with his brown-colored outfit in the final front cover.
3) Super Butoden 2 in-game version.
During fights, Mr. Satan will appear with a grey vest, which is a bit weird given that his base dialogue sprite wears the anime's brown, and his unused alternative color was not meant to be grey either.
4) Super Butoden 2 dialogue version.
An unused alternative purple palette. His champion belt, not visible on this picture not during the in-game fights, also has a silver (or perhaps platinum) medal instead of gold.
5) DBZ 2 Super Battle version.
The vest turns very blue, but there's also a faint blue tint to the white pants, appearing thanks to shadows. It is easily noticeable when comparing the white pants to other white sprites in the landscape.
6) Budokai 3 version.
For the alternative outfit in this game, we have a dark leaf green vest with bright turquoise trousers.

SON GOHAN:

ImageImageImageImage
ImageImageImageImage
ImageImageImageImage
ImageImageImageImage
1+2) Anime version.
- WATCH THE SUPER SAIYAN 2 RENDER -
3+4) Original Manga version.
Toriyama still had Gohan wearing blue wrists like Goku. Gohan wears white socks, on the contrary of the anime.
5+6) Daizenshuu 199 version.
Just for the duration of a title page for chapter 411. This time, Piccolo made Gohan's outfit blue like his wrists.
7+8) Kanzenban version.
For all his Piccolo-based outfit, Toriyama used to draw him almost exclusively with a red belt, but blue wrists. Since the Kanzenban, it's all red, possibly to mimic Piccolo's natural red wrists. Gohan still has white socks though, unlike his anime equivalent.
[/u]9+10) Super Butoden 2 dialogue version and in-game version.
The alternative outfit for this Super NES video game has Gohan wearing purple that is so darkened and desaturated that it kinda looks like brown. Apart from that, the dialogue and in-game versions are actually different. For the in-game version, Gohan is a Super Saiyan 2, the belt and wrists are blue like in the anime (while the regular outfit for the same game shows a red belt and blue wrists like the regular manga version). The dialogue version shows Gohan has a simple Super Saiyan and is much more pecular: it reverses the manga scheme for the accessories (meaning a blue belt with red wrists), but more strikingly... this spooky clone of Gohan has red eyes! All versions in this game also have brighter, yellowish shoes.
11+12) DBZ 2 Super Battle version N°1.
This video game can turn Gohan's Cell Game clothes into Goku's gi through a simple color switch. He does wear a cape though, and the shoes are those of Piccolo. This version was also used in Super Dragon Ball Z.
13+14) DBZ 2 Super Battle version N°2.
An outfit that might have been initially conceived as black, but to the strong lighting on it, it actually ends up being darkish grey. The belt and wrists are also colored with a much darker and desaturated blue tint.
15+16) Burst Limit version.
The alternative outfit for this game shows a turquoise oufit with red-with-a-subtle-hint-of-purple wrists and belt.

SON GOKU:

ImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Super Butoden series version.
For all three Super Butoden games, Goku's alternative color is vivid red.

TRUNKS (ALTERNATIVE FUTURE):

ImageImageImageImage
ImageImageImage
ImageImage
1+2) Anime version.
3+4) Kanzenban version N°1.
Lots of little changes for this Trunks: much darker indigo hair, blue vest (the anime has it more indigo wheareas Toriyama always saw it as clearly blue), the sword case is now a faded orangy-yellow, the buckles have become fully dark gray, the trousers have a barely-perceptible indigo tint, and the Capsule Corp logo has red (Toriyama used to have the "double C" itself being red and surrounded by white, but now it is the surrounding who is red and the "double C" is white). Another version appears later on the Super Exciting Guide (in the Kanzenban continuity), keeping all the changes but showing a very much lighter blue for the vest.
5) Super Butoden 2 dialogue version.
In this game, Trunks' clone appears as a separate version for the dialogue sceen, untransformed, with a grey jacket (not here for his in-game version), a belt that has a red inside with orangy red "overbelt", and silver - or smoke-colored to be specific, but it's less stylish - eyes. Other than that, the rest is pretty much the same than for the in-game clone: a very dark blue shirt (so dark it's easy to miss the blue), dark blue pants, faded green shoes with very dark blue parts. The sword is not there, here the chest belt was adapted to his "inner belt" as is the case with the original colors. This version does not have a Super Saiyan equivalent, since the in-game version is based on the "back to the future", jacket-less Trunks.
6+7) Buyu Retsuden version.
The alternative jean jacket for this game is dark green.
8+9) Zenkai Battle Royale version.
One of the alternative costumes for this game shows a flashy green jacket.

1) Anime version.
2) Kanzenban would-be version N°1.
Simply applying the Kanzenban changes, but there's no jacket here.
3) Super Butoden 2 in-game version.
For the in-game appearance of Trunks' clone in this game, we have again the very dark blue shirt, dark blue pants, and faded green boots with very dark blackish blue tips. However, the belt now has a grey buckle and has gone completely faded green to go with the boots this time. The jacket has disappeared compared to the dialogue version, and the sword is still nowhere to be seen, with the chest belt adapted to the new waist belt here, since the two belts match in the original color scheme.

VEGETA:

1) Anime / Original Manga version.
2) Super Butoden 2 in-game version.
Vegeta's suit becoming black is a classic in video games, but for this one, the armor and boot tips - usually yellow - switch to a "dark orangy going brown" tone as well.
3) Raging Blast 2 version.
The DLC costume for this game shows Vegeta wearing Bardack's armor, along with a slightly darker, more desaturated blue suit to go with it.
4) Zenkai Battle Royale version N°1.
One of the alternative costume is leaf green.
5) Zenkai Battle Royale version N°2.
One of the alternative costume is dark/desaturated red.
ZANGYA:

1) Anime version.
2) Toriyama version.
In the original designs submitted by Toriyama, Zangya - much like the rest of the Bojack group - had a green skin and orangy red hair, along with a yellowish tint for her pants. Her skirt is also noticeably going more pink than the anime version.
3) Super Butoden 2 version.
Most girls like to try going blonde at some point in their lives, and aliens are no exception. Very blond hair, absolutely pink skirt, and a blue skin, how do you like Zangya's "girlier" look?
