Yeah, pretty much sums the show up right there.

I think if Oda wrote Dragon Ball he'd figure out more creative ways to utilize some of the weaker characters.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

If Hiro Mashima was writing Dragon Ball, Goku wouldve solod everyone with Power of Feelings.

Ok. Been a bit since I read my omnibus of the last volumes of Rave Master and I admit I haven't always paid attention to his credit on Fairy Tail. (Haven't read the manga, but own and recently finished watching the first 6 volumes of the Fairy Tail anime).

Well, we know that if DBZ was a Kishimoto franchise, that Vegeta probably would have gotten his own spinoff at one point.

I watched the Rock Lee spinoff and found myself losing interest around EP20, to the point where I felt like I was disliking Guys team more than liking them.

Also if Oda/Kubo/Mashima wrote DBZ, there would be a lot more boobies.

Fairy Tail is awesome :D each arc keeps getting better then the last, it's up there with DBZ, FMA:B as my holy trinity of anime lol

Couldn't disagree more. But this isn't the place for it.

It wouldn't be Dragon Ball anymore.

The only mangaka I can see that could keep the Dragon Ball feel is Oda, since One Piece is very similar in termos of pure fun and entertainment.

I don't think Oda would do well with it. Togashi and Yusuke Murata would be the best at recreating that Dragon Ball feel. Togashi it would be a bit darker, but YuYu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter are very similar to Dragon Ball anyway so he'd be my pick

Togashi? I'd pass. I don't want my Dragon Ball to be filled with wannabe complex plot, average characters and lazy art.

Not sure who exactly, but think if another mangaka had wrote Dragon Ball, at some point Goku and Chi Chi would've defeated an enemy with the power of love. Not to the point of a "Love Love Kamehameha" (or "labu labu kamehameha in Japan) but something close perhaps.

If Kubo wrote it, there'd be even more asspulls than when Toriyama was writing the Buu arc.

If Hirohiko Araki wrote it, each arc would probably star a separate generation of the characters' descendants, and it probably would never have been released in English due to all the copyright infringing names.

Oh ye of little faith.

In all seriousness though, that's almost an interesting line to try to think on. Where and when would it start and end? There could be entire story arcs with Mutaito, then Roshi and Crane, then Gohan and Gyu-mao, then Goku, then flash back to Bardock, then Gohan, then Goten (and maybe even Trunks), then Pan and probably Oob, then Goku Jr....

What if the author of YGO wrote DB?

It'd start off way, way more violent, then get watered down much more when it was adapted into an anime.

Also, Goku wouldn't be nearly as nice at first.

I think if he wrote DBZ:
01. Goku would bounce between his regular and Kakarot personality in fights, he'd also never job clean.
02. Vegeta would still be his main rival, but Trunks would actually be his brother.
03. Bulma would be a Goku fangirl as opposed to dating Yamcha/Vegeta.
04. Yamcha/Android #18 would be the same character, the hot girl who is the worf.
05. The series starts off episodic and turns all battle later...not too different.
