Those guys are (I'm almost certain) the live action avatar characters that appear in VJump ads for Heroes sometimes.
I'm not put off by the alternate art style, it could be worse.

Very curious to see what the regular DB cast looks like in this.
On hiatus.

New information
Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7Vjx9qv02w
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZlx8xdE_BE

All the new characters, be it their card titles or just new era costumes...that I noticed anyway:
---DB: Kid Goku, Kid Kuririn, Yamcha, Muten Roshi, Pilaf Robot, Murasaki, Blue, Pirate Robot
---DBZ: Kid Pan, Big Gete Robots
---DBGT: GT Gotenks (Base, SS), Liu Xing Long (Princess, Dragon*)
*Dragon form doesn't seem to have a card shown, but it could be one of the unrevealed cards or the SEC.

Also, seems Heroes is allowing Super Bebi Vegeta to transform into his Super Oozaru form without going to Super Bebi 2.

K...Kid Pan? As in, the little tot that slapped Wild Tiger around? Whoa. Now there's a character I didn't think we'd ever see in a game.

In my opinion, she has the same right to be in as Kid Uub has, and he's been in since Budokai 3. It's long overdue in this game.

I'm not saying she has less right, I just figured it was less likely to happen, that's all.

I have always wondered about the inclusion of Kid Uub way back then though. It has to be due to how much they played up the angle of him being Goku's successor in the story mode for that game or something.

Well, I say 'played up', but it was actually nice to see that get focus somewhere at least, even if just in a game.

I understand what you mean, was just stating it. I thought it was a bit of an odd choice way back then too. It was nice to see Uub but at the same time, he did nothing relevant as a kid.

By the way, I just noticed that there are no card for Future Trunks and Future Gohan in their base forms, what's up with that?

There are none with base form art, but there are at least two for both of them that start in base form and then ascend with the transformation mechanic.

I thought that would be the case.

Now all we're missing is Piccolo: Child and Broli: Child and we'll have all the kids! :D

The master list has been updated accordingly.

This is Trunks: Adolescence, not Trunks: Future. Trunks: Adolescence is the Future Trunks from Artificial Humans/Cell arc, while Trunks: Future is the one from the TV Special, 3 years after Gohan's death.

Wait, shouldn't it be the other way around?

It shouldn't be any way around. They shouldn't be separate characters at all.

Having a separate character for Trunks simply due to a palette swap is absolutely ridiculous. When they first announced it, I thought it was going to be boy Trunks from when Gohan was still alive, at least that one would be more acceptable.
What makes me even more annoyed is the fact that they've also given the Super Saiyan 3 form to this Trunks, it makes no sense whatsoever.

Youd think youd be used to SSJ3 being whored out in this game by now. Willing to bet SSJ3 Vegito and Gohan will be soon along with a SSJ2 and/or SSJ3 Bardock.

Why would I conform to it? Just because they keep using it for everyone, does not mean I will simply shrug it off. I've got an opinion and I voice it.

The entire concept of separating "Trunks: Adolescent" and "Trunks: Future" is baffling, there is no need for it. Even separating the Trunks who used a sword from the latter one who had an armour and long hair makes more sense, since a whole year has passed for him and he is clearly matured, he's got a different fighting style now and new forms to boot. "Adolescent" and "Future" are exactly the same character with the difference of the few days it took between him fighting the Artificial Humans and travelling through time. Doing that, somehow made his clothes darker.

The thing is, I can see Broli getting the form after another near-death power-up (if he had survived in M10). I can see Vegeta getting the form after training for a few years. I can see Future/GT Trunks getting the form if he had done extremely hard training after a few years (he is an ultra-prodigy). I can see Gogeta getting the form if Goku & Vegeta do the Fusion in SS3. I can see Future Gohan getting the form after extremely hard training in the AfterLife. I can see Bardock getting the form after getting a near-death power-up & meeting the requirements as it happened in EoB. But Future Trunks specifically from the TV special is ridiculous.

Except if the what-if is supposed to be what-if Gohan never lost his hand and survived & trained together with Trunks inside the RoSaT (they somehow found out about its existence), mastered Super Saiyan, and after intense training for 3 (+2 RoSaT) years, they achieved Super Saiyan 3. That's believable for me.
