They trademarked "Hercule Satan" specifically so they could use it both ways.

Let me get this straight.

'Mr Satan' is his professional fighting name.

'Mark' is his real first name and his last name has never been revealed.

Correct?

Correct. Except that his surname isn't "not revealed", it's "non existent".

Really?! Wow... Well, I'm hoping for them to just say Mr Satan on the BDs and DVDs. I guess I don't mind if Hercule is only used on the TV version.

Mr. Satan is his professional name and the only name given to him in the series proper.

Mark was revealed in an interview with Toriyama to be his real name, as it is an anagram of akuma.

Mr.Satan was used on the bricks so I see no reason why it won't be used in Kai.

In the uncut version, Mr. Satan will definately be used. But for the edited version that'll air on T.V, we're guessing that Hercule will be used.

C'mon.. Devil was used in many children's cartoons, I see no problem with Mr.Satan being used.

No that's me, and as far as I know the shirt isn't for sale but we could ask.

Considering just how censored this TV version seems like it will be, the chance of them using Mr Satan is next to nil.

Someone had this clip in their signature and it was at that moment I fully understood why the change was necessary.

Then again they could have just changed the chanting to something else.

They could always keep the name and pronounce it differently like "Mr. Sa-tan" or "Mr.Satin".

You mean like how they actually did pronounce it in the show?

I always thought FUNi used the "Saytun" pronounciation.

"The show" being "the original Japanese version of the show".

Which is basically how all English speakers pronounce it.

I always took the Japanese pronunciation as them being awful with loan words, so I've always called the guy Saytun.

I really doubt that any English speaking fan pronounces it "Sa-tan", no matter how much of a purist they are.
