Unpopular DB opinions

Hardly what I would call a reason to think that people don't acknowledge how brutal they are. I get that Vegeta might fall into that category (he does some heroic things), but I don't see anyone sticking up for or whitewashing Nappa and Raditz.

I really love Goten! I like how even though he's naive and care free his personality is so different from Goku's, despite their looking almost the same. He's probably my 3rd favorite character after Gohan and Mirai Trunks. I really enjoyed his interactions with kid Trunks too, they were hilarious with all the weird stuff they came up with and the masked man vs 18 fight made me laugh more than almost anything in the anime. I agree that he's the most adorable character in the whole franchise, he's just so lovable!

I love Gotenks too because he's so ridiculous. I have to say, I like the gags in DB a lot, so when they were almost completely gone from Z I was kinda sad about it. That Gotenks vs. Super Buu fight was so entertaining to me because Gotenks is really over the top, and his interactions with Piccolo were also hilarious.

I think ultimately, with Goten, there was a problem when he grew up because his personality got more non descript. He could no longer be the super cute kid he was, so he just got nothing going on for him. As a Gohan fan, I'll admit we tend to complain about him being completely robbed of the spotlight after he "settled down", but Goten never even had the spotlight properly and I hate that. I think he at least should've boarded the spaceship in GT, that way Pan could still be there, and we get more funny Trunks - Goten interactions.

I enjoy Goten too, and I think his battles with Kid Trunks, #18, and Super Buu (as Gotenks) are among the arcs highlights. His strength never really bothered me seeing as its always been a series motif to have extremely strong kids; not to mention he wasn't even that overpowered by Buu arc standards.

Speaking of which I think Yajirobe's competence in DB is overrated. I remember hearing all this hype about him, but when I got the series all he does is beat 1 villain and have an entertaining fight with Goku....which is pretty much the same as the others.

He was as strong as 22nd tournament Goku just by living in the mountains. The only training he got was from Kami in preparation for the Saiyans and that put him close to Raditz. His potential was huge.

My main point in the pre-Raditz era I was hearing all this hype about how competent he was, yet he was just like any other human in DB - just beats 1 side villain. All the other humans had trained all their lives. Krillin had trained under a shaolin temple and then under Roshi and then under Kami. Tenshinhan and Chaotzu under Tsuru Sen'nin and then under Kami. Yamcha under Roshi and then under Kami.

What had Yjirobe done? Nothing worth mentioning. Its clear that he doesn't even like training. The only training he had was under Kami and, before that, when he met Goku, he didn't even have any serious training and yet he still managed to rival Goku who was a Saiyan and, at that point, had trained under Gohan and under Roshi and was already stronger than Roshi, a legendary master. So, imagine if he liked training and actually had trained all his life like the others...

Yajirobe is easily the human with the most untapped potential in the series. He doesn't actually accomplish anything that the other humans didn't manage but the hype surrounding him is mainly about his potential, not because of the things he accomplishes.

Okay, we'll agree to disagree. You do have a point because I rarely see Nappa and Raditz whitewashed.

Goku going SSJ for the first time is such an overrated moment.

Blasphemy . That's one of the most iconic moments in all of shonen anime.

Lol I know. But it didn't have the impact on me like it did for most other people. Plus it's like the go to thing for DBZ to say is the greatest moment. So it kinda has the Broly effect on me. I don't hate when it happens at all but it doesn't feel my heart with joy when I watch or read that part either.
