I don't think so, I think it'll finish. Toriyama doesn't seem like the kind of guy who'll do a story line like that anymore, he seems to want to keep things fun and simple.

And it would be hard to disagree with him Granted, he wasn't always right, I don't necessarily think there was anything wrong with 19/20 being the main villains or 17/18. They didn't look like Freeza but they weren't joke characters either.

This is true. What I like about Torishima is he both kept Toriyama in check, pushed him creatively, and the two of them respect one another. Toriyama thought highly enough of Torishima's opinion where he took his advice during the Cell arc long after Torishima ceased being his editor. This is why I'm so curious about what he thinks of these designs.

A well balanced writer editor relationship is a valuable thing. Without it the writer either gets stifled, or conversely you end up with Monaca.

I agree with that too, if wasn't Torishima, Perfect Cell wouldn't be one of the most beautiful designs in the series.

Oh my god, its grotesque. Does this thing have a name? Scouters would be breaking more on its looks than its power.

Who knows? Maybe those nipples have some special power.

I'll hold my judgement though until I see this aired in the Anime.

Yeah, but I think Monaca has transformations... This can't be his true form, I guess.

While I wouldn't doubt him having some kind of transformation (though probably not one like most are imagining), I also don't really see the problem if he's way stronger than he looks (which is already the indication anyway). I mean...look at Fat Boo. Would you ever guess, just going off of pure design, that he was stronger than everything that came before him, at all? It's part of Toriyama's MO that a lot of times the strongest characters are the ones you wouldn't guess just by looking at them.

How do you know that? You're bordering on disrespectful, Mr.Toriyama puts thought into things, he genuinely likes his franchise, proved when he revamped the script for BoG. You shouldn't assume based solely on your perception of the character. You can dislike the design all you like, what you've just said I find distasteful.

Don't judge a book by it's cover. He could end up being really awesome. I remember in 2012 when the poster for BOG was posted online, a lot of people here was like "That bunny looking guy looks stupid", "I can't believe Goku is going to be fighting that stupid thing!" and "Wow Bills looks dumb". After the movie came out, a lot of fans love him.

The majority of Toriyama's new designs don't have much effort in them so this isn't that surprising.

The new Ssj forms are recolors of the previous form.
Freeza's new form is a golden version of his 4th form.
Champa is a fat Beerus.
Vados is a femal Whis.
The new guy from Freeza's race looks like Freeza's 1st form.
The Saiyan looks like a short adult Gohan.

I'm OK with the new characters because I expected something even less creative so moving foreword you shouldn't expect any groundbreaking design cause chances are you'll be disappointing like you are now.

That's true but Fat Buu evolved into Super Buu who evolved into Kid Buu, Both have great intimidating designs that go with their power.

He did, yes, but it still doesn't change the fact that essentially a fat, pink, buffoon was the strongest character in the series for a nice while there - stronger by far than Cell in his far more intimidating looking Perfect form. Even the Kid form of Boo kind of goes with this - the smaller version being the 'strongest, most dangerous'* form yet? It certainly bit them in the butt very quickly for assuming that as much couldn't be true.

I mean, I agree that the design is a little plain...but the gag payoff of all this hype about the strongest guy Beerus ever fought, and it's that, is just too great to not enjoy, at least for me.

*Yes I'm aware what I've just said is a big debate topic, just making my point though, not trying to get into any of that.

I was re-reading the manga, and when Champa and Beerus fight, they say that the Puff-Puff fruit cake comes from planet Sweets, and in TheDevilsCorpse's summary, Wagashi means sweets. Are they supposed to be the same planet??

My biggest fear is that Piccolo and Boo will job immediately so that we're left with a 5 vs 3 situation. I really hope that doesn't happen. A better twist like the new guy or Goku losing or something, please.

If anything, Toriyama will have Goku job first. He loves doing trollish shit like that.

When does Goku ever lose right off the bat and then leaves everything to everyone else in a tournament? Goku always makes it to the final round. There's no way Goku is going to lose his first bout. He's making it to the end unless something else calls his attention away from the tournament.
