Could we agree that the whole fake tension isnt working at all? Even the fanbase dont look dumb enough in falling for Toeis bait in making you think Goku could lose to scrubs(see episode 98).

Absolutely. The fake tension doesn't do a thing for me. This is why I wish they'd done some more story arcs involving these other universes before doing this one. Either that or instead of using 80 fighters with 8 universes, parse it down to half that size if they were planning on making so many of these fighters quick-KO fodder just so they wouldn't have to do that.
On hiatus.

The preview for this ep wasn't as hype as the last. Who would pass up seeing Kale(Broly) fight Goku?

How about WE DROP THIS STUPID MYTH THAT CONTENT ACTUALLY MATTERS?!

WHEN THE THIRD MOST HIGHEST RATED EPISODE IN THE ENTIRE SHOW IS A FILLER FEATURING KRILLIN BECOMING A MARTIAL ARTIST AGAIN, I THINK NO ONE GIVES A SHIT WHATS ON ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS SHOW IS AIMED AT CHILDREN!!!!!

Maybe people were busy or maybe they lost cable, because super has stayed 5 to 6 ratings throughout its run with exceptions.
The same flaws super had at the beginning is the same flaws it has now with better aniamtion and if they were sick of it, that number be way lower that 5 or 4.

Yeah I don't know why perucho1990 keeps bringing things like this up every week.

Btw filler doesn't exist here.

Only a 5.0? Uh-oh, looks like Super is on the verge of being canceled again.

Yeah, I definitely think the next episode, which still won't have Goku vs Jiren will be the straw that breaks the camel's back, if it hasn't already been utterly destroyed already.

One Piece is pretty low too. Which is good because it means it's not to do with Dragon Ball Super directly.

Still I'm surprised how much the ratings have dropped for both shows over the last year or so.

Dressrosa and Zou arc were very slow. Whole cake Island will have much better ratings. I really like Big Mom vs Strawhats fight, much better than current DBS
Toyotarō: … I get the feeling I’ve just heard something amazing (laughs). Lord Beerus and Whis turn up in Dragon Ball Super, and have become an unsurpassable wall for Goku and the gang. What do the two of them mean to you?

Toriyama: Well… First off, right now I don’t have any plans for Goku and Vegeta to surpass Beerus and Whis.

Wait, do people actually think that Super will get cancelled because of "low ratings"? It's making it onto the top 10 and is right behind One Piece most of the time. How is that bad?

Dragon Ball is kicking ass when it comes to merchandise. Dragon Ball Heroes is a huge success. Why the hell would they decide to cancel the series altogether just because of some small inconsistent drops in ratings?

Kai had great ratings like Super but got cancelled because surprise it didn't matter where it mattered ie sales Kai was letting down. Super not only has great ratings and simulcast numbers but also has the sales to back it up. As much as people want to themselves it is a flop it is anything but.

One Piece was pulling around 10-13% back when Kai 1.0 was on air and now OP barely scraps 7% so ratings on the whole are obviously way down across the board since then.

Yeah, this bullshit myth that Super is going to be cancelled because of its ratings needs to die. Dragon Ball (Super) is making so much money for Bandai, it's biggest sponsor, that there is no way in hell they would pull the plug on the show now. As long as the show stays in the top ten most view programs for Japanese TV, that's all that should really matter to us. And even then it's not a big issue. Good ratings didn't save Kai 1.0 or GT from getting shit-canned.

He's not. They better bring back Bardock, Cell and Future Trunks unless they want to cancel the show.

The ratings don't really matter for Super, it could be averaging 3 and it still wouldn't get canceled. Naruto and now Boruto never even crack the top 10 and they are not really worried about that.

It's obviously sarcasm. Nobody here ACTUALLY believes that Super is going to get cancelled because of "low" ratings.
Heroes come and go, but legends are forever.

Didnt that episode had the first ToP preview?

The main flaw is probably Jiren, they shouldve had him eliminate Kale or at least explain why he didnt eliminate her, now his hype is hurt because he will go down due to big PIS.

I bet if they have Caulifa and Kale kiss and advertise it in the previews ahead of time, it would cause a HUGE bump in ratings.

Considering they sort of had Kid Mai kissing Future Trunks this might actually happen.
