When someone tells me "Well the series never says or implies X can't be a thing so my stupid fucking headcanon isn't totally invalid! Also, it's 100% fact and you better accept it!".

If you guessed I'm annoyed by people spouting off their SFHCs about how Goku mastered SS3 and his tired ass can now use it without much fuss, using the absence of anything that goes against their said stupid fucking headcanons as proof that not only are their theories rock solid, but 100% supported facts by the story.

Well okay, Goku rapes cats in his spare time. There's nothing that implies he does this in the series, but there's also nothing that says he doesn't do it so my stupid ass theory isn't totally moronic! Also, it's 100% canon totes canon guys.

Seriously, piss on this fandom sometimes.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Now, the Potara is just a Fusion Dance with little-to-no consequence. If they really wanted to use a timed fusion, they should've just went with the Fusion Dance
To test this out:

>Vegeta and Goku fuse
>They're told they can only stay fused for an hour
>They fight evenly with Zamasu for the whole fight
>They take the fight seriously
>They use all the time they have to try and win
>They take the fight seriously
>Only for the Fusion to wear off right when they try to land the finishing blow
>And, they're all shocked and surprised, because they didn't know that their power output lowers the fusion time.

When Super's anime fans call the manga every name in the book yet go after anyone who does the same to the anime. Why is it OK to hate the manga but a death sentense sin to even criticize the anime ? The anime also gets every excuse imaginable to justify its shortcomings yet for some reason the manga doesn't.

People who think it's cool to bash on Z, thinking it makes them somewhat edgy, while in truth they are just noobs who llkely barely ever watched the show that made this series so iconic in the first place.

I never experience this,i'm seeing a lot of people criticizing the anime, especially when it come to the new saiyans of u6
You know what grind my gears, when people think toyo potray vegeta a jerk like in the earlier day of Z
ImageImage Image
Oh yeah i could totally see a cell saga vegeta doing this, toyo made vegeta an unlikable prick :problem: .Speaking of vegeta,he is stubborn at time but still he is in character imo, just watch all the episode of him and cabba,it really show in spite of being stubborn he generally become a nice guy and i think his interaction with bulma is handled better in super than in z.

Vegeta no matter what will always act a certain way simply because that's his personality. Acting like a tough guy is who he is and nothing will change that. There's however a huge difference like you pointed out between his character in Cell and now and how some can't see it is beyond me.

I've seen plenty of the opposite around too. Manga fans popping in, even in unrelated conversations, to shit on the anime and wave off any flaws the manga has with "but Toriyama."

Honestly this feels like one of the most condescending fandoms I've ever been part of. There's always some group of fans crapping on some other group of fans for not being the right kind of fan or for not enjoying the series the way they think it should be enjoyed or some other arbitrary nonsense.

I see more bashing of the anime on here but more bashing of the manga on tumblr. So for me the hate is pretty much equal.

Well this fandom is notorious for sub vs dub so this does not suprised me to be honest, well at least super anime vs manga is more tamer compared to the other debates.

People feeling the need to attach Z to anything Dragon Ball related that isn't specifically referring to the hunt for the DB's through 23rd budokai.

I get that It's smart for marketing the series to casuals who are only familiar with Z and maybe GT but still. I've never heard a person in real life or even online very much say "I'm a fan of Dragon Ball", It's always "yeah man I love DBZ"

I agree. This fandom can be pretty toxic. Only other fandom I've been a part of that can compare to DB in this regard is Star Wars.

Anyway, about this fandom... one time I had someone tell me I'm not a true fan of the series because I said I found some of TFS's DBZ Abridged jokes to be tiresome.

Which is another thing that grinds my gears. DBZ Abridged jokes being spammed mercilessly on the internet where DB is concerned. Whatever amusement I initially got from them disappeared as soon as they started popping up everywhere. Hell, I'd even welcome back the "Broly's power is maximum" meme over yet another Gohan dodge joke - and I despise Broly. But, given how many fans TFS has, I don't see this stopping anytime soon.

IMO, the N17 vs Blue Goku (SUPER ep86) was a bigger shitshow.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

Fandoms aren't toxic. The bigger the fandom, the more crazies, but I still think it's a very small percentage of any fandom. It just seems like there are more because those types scream the loudest.

This is something that's been on my mind because of the last few episodes. I've seen many, many, many comments/posts/videos that criticize Kale and Caulifla. And that's perfectly fine. If you don't like them and think something is wrong with them, all the power to you. It's your opinion and nobody should be getting called out for their opinion. That's what makes discussions fun in the first place. If we all agreed on something, then there would be no point in discussing.

And this leads into my issue. Some of those people treat their opinion as fact and claim things like "somebody had to call Super out on their bullshit," "I'm not a blind fanboy who accepts all of Super's shit," and even go as far as calling the writers trash/amateurs/insertbadwordhere because they didn't write something they would enjoy. This makes them unapproachable. You can't disagree with them anymore, because if you do, you're basically starting a war. I've seen the word "toxic" get thrown around a lot, but this takes the cake. Not only are those statements rude to the writers and people who enjoy said characters or story beats, they also create even more divisions in a fandom with seemingly infinite divisions. And then quite possibly the worst part of it all, a hive mind starts forming, sort of like how a riot forms. Things just fall apart from there. After that the whole point becomes to spread as much pessimism as possible, causing distress in the fandom. "Everyone who disagrees with me is wrong and stupid." This happens constantly, and there is no reason that it has to happen.

This issue is by far the most gear grinding thing to me. But wait, I may have found a solution. It's pretty simple, really. If you hate these characters and want to express why, then do it without looking like a goddamn raging manchild that has no control of his or her emotions. You don't need to lose your mind over two stupid fictional characters. Not everything has to be an extreme. Not everything needs to be "I love this" or "I hate this." And before anyone says anything, I know that this can go both ways. Sometimes extreme love for characters can lead to bad behavior to those who don't like them, but I find that to be FAR less common. Just don't be a manchild and be respectful, that's all I'm saying. Everyone, including the people who make these ignorant comments, will be happier in the long run. Trust me.
Heroes come and go, but legends are forever.

    60.

    Rest in peace.

When people say that DBZ is one of the "few anime dubs worth while" and compare it with FMA and Bebop. I mean even as much as Kai and Supers dub's are improvements I still wouldn't consider them top tier dubs like Death Note and Black lagoon.

When people wank EoZ Goku, why? What the hell makes his Base on par with Kid Boo? And don't tell me it's Whis or Beerus as I know for a fact this pre dates the new stuff by a long time.

Is it GTs fault? Cause I feel like it is, especially since a lot of people assume EoZ is a GT prequel/setup.
