Kaiser, are you sure you're not confusing Sabat's with Dobson's? If anything, Dobson's was the one that was snobish sounding. By the time the Bardock Special came around, Sabat ditched the accent on Zarbon and it became effeminate. Not to the extent of sounding like a girl though. But there are different levels of "effeminate".

Come on, man, that can't be an honest question.

No, I'm not confusing Sabat's and Dobson's. I'm talking about Sabat's Remastered Freeza Saga Zarbon. It's not effeminate, that isn't what effeminate is. It's posh or "refined", but it's surely not effeminate.

KaiserNeko is fun-hundred percent right. Zarbon's character might be slightly effeminate, in that he's the opposite of a rugged macho man, but his voice isn't. It's very deep and masculine. He just speaks with a snobby accent.

Things I'm noticing about the fandom lately:

1) People have trouble discerning certain accents.
2) People absolutely can't seem to separate the actual voices from the script.

Well, on my part, I was getting effeminate mixed up with snobbish.

People have a problem with Zarbon's voice? It's one of my favorite dub voices. I love Sabat's silky smooth delivery. To each his own though.

Hey, again, I don't hate it. I do think it sounds forced, though, and I honestly don't want Sabat playing ANOTHER important character.

His speaking voice in Raging Blast is actually pretty good, but I can't help but find his battle grunts...incredibly terrible.

I'll take your word for it. But either way, I find it to be a perfectly suited voice for the character.

But now let's be fair here. I really don't think it's fair to say that Sabat shouldn't be the character just because he plays so many others. I could understand if the voice sounded like another voice (Like say, his Grand Elder voice can go). But his Zarbon voice pretty much stands alone. Sabat's a very talented not only as an actor. But with voices as well. Yes, many of his characters sound similar. But there are also very many that have unique voices.

The voice Chris Sabat does for Zarbon is really posh and snobbish, not effeminate or girly. I personally love it and wouldn't want it to get changed for Z Kai, regardless of how many voice Chris Sabat does.

Ugh, Oolong's replacement voice is terrible. He tries way too hard to sound like Brad Jackson's Oolong, even to the point of imitating his accent, but in the end sounds like a "Season Three" Z dub quality imitation. It would have worked much better if the actor had done his own thing with the role.

I agree. I didn't pick up that he was trying to imitate him though, I just thought it was a terrible voice. Makes sense, though.

What happened to the original? I liked his Oolong. Very piggish voice.

Wow, oddly enough, I must be the only person here who didn't have a SINGLE problem with Oolong.

Then again, I am in love with Brian Massey and want him for Recoome. Bad.

Is it based on his performance as Ladd Russo in the Baccano dub? Because I can understand that.

Speaking of new voices, I actually like the new Gohan. Seffron Henderson's Gohan was one of my favorite voices from the Ocean dub and the new actress for Gohan sounds a lot like Seffron Henderson's Gohan. Very child-like. I like the voice a lot. The scream from the trailer made me think it would be terrible, but it really was not. And the actress doing Bulma is also great. It's a shame that every single episode and movie of the series is voiced by the same actors and now suddenly they're gone, but I'm sure I'll get over it.

Did anyone notice that Yamcha has less of a surfer feel to his voice now? I like that a lot.

It's been like that since around 2003-2005.

The new Oolong and especially gregory is killing me.

These new voices out of nowhere distract me. I thought the only new ones were Bulma and Gohan then out of nowhere I hear new voices that seem a little out of place...although I'm alright fine with Gohan and I really hope this Bulma does a better job at being pissed on Namek.
