That wouldn't be fair to PS3 owners who enter the contest. You could trade it in for half CREDIT of what the store sells the game for used, only to put that meager amount toward the same game. It's a big waste of free. If the contest is for a copy for one console and you only have the other, you'd be a big douche if you entered.Big Momma wrote:Win one, then trade it it.

When I went for the game, it was 49.99 on the sticker, but apparently the store had a special discount to about 43.00.Supa Saiya-Jin Tullece wrote:Wait, so how much does the 360 version of Raging Blast cost?
Is it $60 or $40 new? I've got $25 in cash, and I've got $19 worth of games to trade in, so if it's $40 then I've got enough to pick it up and pay tax (barely).

Got the game in today. Also got a copy (PS3 version) for a contest give-away, so stay tuned for that!
Played for about two hours so far. Controls are taking a lot of getting used to, since I had popped in Sparking! METEOR last week and got used to pressing L1 or whatever to charge my ki.
Quite frankly, the camera is absolutely abysmal. The worst it's been has been on whatever stage it is with the Bardock vs. Goten + Gohan "What If?" fight (the mountain cliffs with the giant mushrooms off to the side). It's cooooooonstantly getting stuck inside or above something and I'm completely unable to see either my own fighter or my opponent.
Quick impressions:
PRO:
- Japanese vocal opening
- Selectable Japanese voices
- Voice credits shift to the seiyuu names in the museum when done this way!
- Fantastic motion on some of the super moves
- "What If?" storylines are genuinely interesting and hilarious
- Voice acting, especially in the museum's character introductions
- Hikaru Midorikawa finally playing Tenshinhan (instead of Mitsuaki Madono like Infinite World and Tenka-ichi Dai-bouken)
- Legends-style character narration and conversations over-top/during the fights
- Bright colors (almost too bright...)
- Acceptable music (Burst Limit / Infinite World style)
CON:
- Camera
- While the opening song is great, the video is a bore-fest
- Start with Raditz fight, end with Buu fight... *snore*
- Minor bugs (Gohan didn't show up the first time I did the Bardock "What-If?" fight)
- Framerate takes a quick dive occasionally
- Boring, static character movements for the most part in the "cut-scenes"
- Not digging the super moves mapped to the right analog stick
- No clear explanation of HOW to get stars in either the game or its manual
Haven't done any multiplayer at all yet (either local or online). Only did the "basic" round of the training mode. Mostly playing on "easy" for the fights (and even then, Piccolo + Goku vs. Raditz took me three tries).
There will obviously be a full review (a la the Wii game) in the next week or so. And I've still gotta pick up Attack of the Saiyans, too... >.<

Or, you know, take it to Wal-Mart, and just switch it out for the 360 version.Innagadadavida wrote:That wouldn't be fair to PS3 owners who enter the contest. ^He's right, though. That wouldn't be fair.
Anyway, I played a tournament today, and it went pretty smoothly. Although it was hard to find people, and it ended up just being about 4 of us, the other 4 being CPU. I got second place, though.
Not really any lag on my part, everything ran pretty smoothly. There were some points where a punch or two wouldn't connect just right, but it was nothing major and probably due to the connection I had at the time.

No. I've been playing Raditz through at least Cell (if not Buu) non-stop, year-after-year, since 2002 and the first Budokai game (and plenty of games before that).sangofe wrote:I guess you snore because you wanted the DB story to be included? Do we really need this in every freakin' game every freakin' year?
These "What-If?" storylines have so much potential... aaaaaarghhh... you'll hear more about it from me soon...

It very well may be Sabat. He's performed the voice in place of Clarke on at least one occasionJulieYBM wrote:I'm pretty sure that is still Dameon Clarke voicing Cell (unless the credits don't mention Clarke or his psuedonym, Dartarian Nickelback).
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Well, I for one, am actually enjoying this game so far.
It's basically a next gen Sparking!!, pros, cons and all. The gameplay has a bit of a learning but you should be fine. Also, The online runs smoothly, the controls are more accessible and easy to learn, the characters are as good as usual with the previous Sparking!! titles, the What-Ifs are pretty fun and hilarious, and pulling off certain combos can be pretty damn satisfying. The only real faults I see are the mostly brutal CPU difficulty, especially on Hard (12 tries on the first What-If?, and against Chibi Trunks?!!) and the camera blocking off the opponent when you do a Super Rising (Other than that, I had no camera problems as of this typing).
Overall, it's good, fun DB fanservice. I'll throw in some more thoughts when I get to play it more.

After you beat each Story Mode Battle, there are missions present you need to complete, like beating the opponent on "Hard" or with minimal damage, this gets you Stars.Supa Saiya-Jin Tullece wrote:I think this calls for a Raging Blast Help thread...ShadowDude112 wrote:Which leads to my question; How do you get stars?VegettoEX wrote: - No clear explanation of HOW to get stars in either the game or its manual
I heard you get them from winning matches, but I'm not sure...
Let the records show that I just got my butt handed to me by shadowdude112.
Also...does anyone find it annoying that you can't pause during attacks?

Funny thing is, back when I had the demo I tend to accidentally pause inbetween the fistfights while I was still getting used to the controls.Big Momma wrote:Let the records show that I just got my butt handed to me by shadowdude112.
