Thank for letting me know that I'll be missing Resurrection F TV special because of work. *sigh* I'll catch it later subbed.

I really hope whoever drew that ends up working on Super at some point, they've got a really nice classic style. The Trunks pictures don't really look any different than Super though.

The blue on his undershirt seems fine to me. I'm ok with the hair but I'd like it to be a more orange or gold color and a bit brighter. Like in the Ultimate Blast intro. Take off the highlights and I think that's it for me :) The art's beautiful though. It's like they transferred the old art style into a modern look.

I think the highlights are needed here. He is glowing, so I think it would look weird if he was just normal colors with his aura.

True. They don't really look bad to me per se. I just could do with or without them. It's nice to see a great looking nose on Goku. Some artists draw it kinda weird. Looks over at Yamamuro.

What I mean is that I don't like the colors they use nowadays. Skin should be more pinkish and the hair darker.

The shadows and highlights would look better if they did them the way they were back then. A lot of highlights and a few shadows, like this:

I don't prefer the pinkish skin myself. I could see it being "better" if it's "accurate", but it's just a preference.

Not to say that I'm a fan of the way they use highlights unnecessarily sometimes, but I think that if you add them in the right places and i a certain way it can improve a picture a lot. I also just think that the slightly browner shadows go better with the golden aura.

Yeah, Goku definitely looks better in Super to me. The pinkish skin just looks off to me, although to be fair, the yellow(?) skin probably looks off to you guys.

Yeah I'm not really a fan of the pink skin except for when Goku first went SSJ. I also don't like how pale they got sometimes.
ImageImageImage
Beautiful. Image

1. Okay, yeah, it's pretty good, but I think it'd look fine how it is in Super.
2. What in the Dragon World is that emoji?

The old ones look more organic and alive to me. The way they colour the characters now make them feel almost plastic like.

To me this is a perfect colour scheme, because nothing stands out too much, but you get the glowing and shining feel:

The super pink skin tones are a result of aging film rather than the actual intentions.

It's more like this and what you see in Kai:

It became more normal later on, too:

Goku's definitely much more pink than, say, Vegeta, but it's not verging on lobster tones like many of the home releases might lead you to think.

FT Trunks running with his sword towards Black while he's descending the skies in episode 47, is by far one of my favourite fight scenes in Super.
That entire scene from when Trunks realises he's there till the end of he episode is the best scene in Super so far for me and by a mile.

In fact it's one of the best scenes from the entire franchise.

I prefer those pictures too. I like both the modern and the old animation styles.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

I didn't see anything distinctly Shida in the special, which gives more hope for him being in Super. :D

He was there. He did the explosion shortly after Freeza transforms.

What a colossal waste.

So he only did an explosion..? That is like the biggest possible waste of one of your best animators. :(

I hope they aren't that dumb and he just had to pitch in because they were rushing. The day Shida works on DBS will be a glorious day.

I'll have to wait til I have it in HD to get a better look, but these are his smoke effects 100%:

He probably did more but the quality of my recording too low to pick out finer details right now.
