Broli isn't exactly a grasshopper.
And he isn't exactly the main character, or antagonist.

A Vegetto who can use Super Saiyan 2 and 3? Sure.
But from the small glimpse we saw in the opening chapter, they're pretty even.

I'm thinking there is another Broly hidden somewhere, because the one we are seeing now looks like a pussy, and the one in the first pages was a lot stronger.
Then again... all Brolys are pussies.

This is just the usual hissy fit blasting we often see Broly do. It's a warm up . . . and obviously to give us and the the characters themselves a skewed impression of Broly's power.
P.S. The real red herring was that damn button! I guess it was for the A. C. or something.

I don't know, but it's starting to get really really boring.....
You should also draw Roshi's fart and then 2 pages of all those faces of people who smelled it..... It'll be even more fun for me, then classic ol' Broli's action....... Bzuuum, blaaast, blaaast, blaaast, blasst etc.

The fire balls destroyed enough to cause a short circuit in the mechanism.
Well, at least its better than not sending him back because Brolly`s power is so maximum that it jams the system.
I was hoping that someone unknow would prevent them from sending him back because of unknow reasons.

A short circuit being the reason why they didn't send Borli back was actually a very good excuse. I was afraid it might have been something completely ridiculous.

You know, I would have given Multiverse huge props if here, the button had worked and sent him back. Then we find out later that the universe where we haven't seen the contestant is another Broly, and the fight happens then.
Not a problem.

Well, considering that they have force fields to protect the audience, its kind of stupid of them not having force fields to protect their system agaisnt rogue fighters.
I mean, pretty much everyone on the tournament has enough power to destroy planets. It would be logical to protect their failsafe the best that they can.

The send-back button didn't work... what a surprise.

Fucking Windows Vista!
Officer Hippoface sez: "I don't take kindly to vigilantes in my town."

I know right? Geez that is stupid . . . I usually give this story a good grade but that is one annoying plot hole.

Couldn't they have come up with something better?

It's possible that Vegetto is the reason behind the malfunction. Wouldn't want to miss out on the big fight.

You know, I can see that and I've gotta say I'm rooting for it. Jamming up the works so he can get his fight would be a lot more fun than "Random obvious flaw in the machinery, oh no!"

Judging from the second panel it was probably those two ki blasts that caused the machine to fail. I was hoping like a few others that we would see some mysterious fighter stop the namekian from sending him back.

Awesome! I liked the explanation for the short-circuit. And finally the action will start.

I knew Buu wasn't such a bad guy Vegetto should thank him after he crushes Broly.
