It's heavily implied to happen because the leak mentioned Goku finding something within his pocket. Good question. Hopefully everything will be okay for Future Trunks and his timeline. Exactly. And yes, this is not the first time. Whis saved Goku/Vegeta ass in Frieza arc and he saved Gowasu. Beerus killed present Zamasu and now Zeno killed merged Zamasu....Not a fan of the Zeno button being THE deciding factor that saves everyone, if it is. Let's put it this way: if Zeno shows up and destroys Zamasu with no consequences, that'll mean every single arc of Dragon Ball Super has ended in an anticlimax where everyone is saved by the whims of the gods. It is actually getting repetitive. If we're following Goku and Vegeta around, we need to actually start seeing them succeed in this new god-filled world on their own and not just have the gods solve all their problems for them.

You know what's funny? The button hasn't been destroyed ever since Goku got dominated by Black and Zamasu. Goku could have easily killed Zamasu himself, so that wouldn't count as Goku needing the gods help. Especially since Black couldn't die either way since he has the Time Ring. And if you're going to used Whis' rewind, the Supreme Kai saved Vegeta and Goku when Kid Buu blow up the Earth. I like the Gods (well, except Zeno, that is terrible), but Goku and Vegeta are become useless, for now.
The sadly thing is that now in the future, Goku can potentially defeat all his enemies in this way .-. With Zeno button.
Just my opinion anyway, but i don't like this.
