Not really, they might not even show EoZ in Kai.Marco Polo wrote:If they wait until the end of Kai to give us anything then this pretty much confirms that Super takes place after Uub.

Except they've already shown it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aYokTknbgAUpFromTheSkies wrote:Not really, they might not even show EoZ in Kai.Marco Polo wrote:If they wait until the end of Kai to give us anything then this pretty much confirms that Super takes place after Uub.

I don't think Kai's ending is dependant on Super's beginning and vise versa. I see them as two different products, imo.

Poor Uub.

Then they don't need to wait until the end of Kai to give us "anything of note" about Super. I was reacting to DBZ_Lee's comment:Chuquita wrote:I don't think Kai's ending is dependant on Super's beginning and vise versa. I see them as two different products, imo.

Oh, ok. I misunderstood.
Re: creepy Gokû face
It's because they're pulling from the creepy face he makes on volume 42's ToC page.

While surfing the web, I came across this:

I know this is not legit, but hypothetically speaking, if that was the logo for the show, how would you feel?

I like how the "Super" looks, but the color scheme doesn't mesh with "Dragon Ball."Lord Beerus wrote:While surfing the web, I came across this:

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Kai's whole point of existence is to be closer to the Manga, it won't have any bearing on Super, as to when it takes place on the timeline.
They have to show EoZ, as it is from the Manga, otherwise, it would completely undermine the whole reason behind its existence.
When I said I doubt they'll show any actual footage until after Kai, I meant as in they won't want to. They'll want people to tune in for the final episode in anticipation of seeing Super footage for the first time.
It'd be nice for something in WSJ this week, but I doubt it.

Didn't Kai keep those scenes with Frieza in hell?DBZ_Lee wrote:Kai's whole point of existence is to be closer to the Manga, it won't have any bearing on Super, as to when it takes place on the timeline.

It did. But the dialogue is closer to the manga. The Buu Arc has retained more filler than the previous ones, but it is still better than Z at being more faithful to the source material.fadeddreams5 wrote:Didn't Kai keep those scenes with Freeza in hell?DBZ_Lee wrote:Kai's whole point of existence is to be closer to the Manga, it won't have any bearing on Super, as to when it takes place on the timeline.

Anyhow, Super and Kai are completely different properties, with totally different purpose.

They also showed scenes from the original Dragon Ball, and that's not going to be in Kai.Marco Polo wrote:Except they've already shown it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aYokTknbgAUpFromTheSkies wrote:Not really, they might not even show EoZ in Kai.Marco Polo wrote:If they wait until the end of Kai to give us anything then this pretty much confirms that Super takes place after Uub.

The DB scenes acted as flashbacks.UpFromTheSkies wrote:They also showed scenes from the original Dragon Ball, and that's not going to be in Kai.
And why would you think that they will skip the 28th TB? It's in DBZ, and in the manga, there is no reason to skip it.

Exactly. Most magazines are dated ahead of their release. The Super manga starts in the August issue of V-jump, but the chapter will be released this month. So in 21 days (disregarding leaks), we'll have content from the series. And around 14 days after that, the anime is likely to start (if there isn't a break).UpFromTheSkies wrote:It will be called the "August" issue, but it will be released before the show starts.Lord Beerus wrote:August.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:When will the manga start again?

They could skip it if Super picks up just after the defeat of Buu. Super could start off after the defeat of Buu, bridge the gap between Buu and BoG, recap BoG, bridge the gap between BoG and RoF, recap RoF, and then continue on. There's a lot we missed between BoG and RoF, like the battle where Vegeta becomes a SSG for the first time.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:The DB scenes acted as flashbacks.UpFromTheSkies wrote:They also showed scenes from the original Dragon Ball, and that's not going to be in Kai.

I really doubt that's gonna happen. The final ending in Kai foreshadows the 28th TB, so we'll definitely see it.UpFromTheSkies wrote:They could skip it if Super picks up just after the defeat of Buu. As for where Super takes place, my bet is after the 28th TB. It's after Boo, the new villain will be stronger than Boo & Freeza (obviously implying Golden Freeza), and it will begin after the end of Kai. Plus, we know that the last 10 years were peaceful, so a full series in that gap taking place won't make sense (yeah, JSAT, BoG, and FnF still happened, but their events weren't as big as the Daimao, Saiyan, Freeza, Cell, and Boo arcs, they only lasted for an afternoon & the danger wasn't as big).

You could be right, and they did say a villain would appear that's stronger than Buu and Freeza, however they didn't say when they would appear.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:I really doubt that's gonna happen. IIRC, the actual battles with Daimao, Vegeta, Freeza, and Cell didn't last very long, maybe a day or so, and the entire Buu arc took place in just two days.Plus, we know that the last 10 years were peaceful, so a full series in that gap taking place won't make sense (yeah, JSAT, BoG, and FnF still happened, but their events weren't as big as the Daimao, Saiyan, Freeza, Cell, and Boo arcs,
Beerus almost destroyed the Earth, and Freeza did destroy it, which is only the second time that's happened.they only lasted for an afternoon & the danger wasn't as big).
