Well to be fair yamcha doesn't have the bang lol. And yeah it's pretty common place but I think it's a good looking haircut so I dont mind. Now that I look at the one you mentioned more, I guess it's not so bad. If the top part was a little less long (maybe that could be the super saiyan version) I might actuall like it.
Disclaimer: I might get into a disagreement with you. Sometimes I might even get feisty about it. I'll never harbor negative feelings because of it though. I hope you feel the same way!Jinzoningen MULE wrote: Maybe I should start making it a point not to comment when I'm not sure of something. Too many people know what they're talking about around here.
I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

It being simple is what made it into the icon that it is today but you can't do the exact same thing again and expect to get the same results.alakazam^ wrote:That's not being very fair. Super Saiyajin wasn't terribly original or had "effort", like you say.
It would be like DC having another person watch his parents get shot in front of him but this time it'll be on the beach and he'll turn into a hero based of a batman but his symbol will be Blue instead of Black.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

But are we even really sure about it?? Right now all we have to go by is the Korean translation. Which may have some mistranslations.
A friend of mine who reads Korean says that Jarama is basically a God of Dragons that created the SDB's. Can you lads imagine if maybe during the tournament this God appears and gets frustrated about Champa and Beerus trying to get them??

I'm glad the U6 team turn out better then expected. I think most fans was expecting the U6 team to be like this:
- Evil Goku
- Broli clone
- Bardock
- Namek
- Female Vegeta

I'd be interested to see if they eventually do pull something like Multiverse with stuff like alternate versions of established characters. Just for entertainment's sake.Hellspawn28 wrote:I'm glad the U6 team turn out better then expected. I think most fans was expecting the U6 team to be like this:

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Alternate takes/counterparts to Gokû, Vegeta, and the others were what I was looking forward to the most with Uni 6. I'm likely in the minority, but I don't really care about just more new characters; why have a mirror universe and not utilize it, ya know? Same thing with teasing female saiyans last chapter and not delivering this chapter on it. Everyone's got their own takes on what they find fun though, so.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
But it IS being utilized. There's no evidence that everyone has doppelgangers living there; it just means they have the exact same planets, races and kind of Gods. Team U6 has a Saiyan and a Freeza because it's a mirror universe. Like they have their own Kaioshins, but they're not identical to the ones we knew.Chuquita wrote:why have a mirror universe and not utilize it, ya know?
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I like the alternate universes as a way of seeing more of Saiyan culture or Freeza culture in general, like "what if Saiyans were good" or "what if Freeza didn't dominate all the universe, what are his people like?" or "is there a robot society on earth or something since it is all dead?"Chuquita wrote:Alternate takes/counterparts to Gokû, Vegeta, and the others were what I was looking forward to the most with Uni 6. But I find that invariably "alternate universe" versions of characters are not as good as the real versions -- this is how I feel about mirror universe versions of characters in Star Trek/DS9/ENT -- the counterparts are just not as interesting, and sometimes the coincidences are a bit too much. But the alternate take on the worlds tends to be intriguing.
I still hope they will show us female saiyans as spectators or something, even if they are not as participants.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
They are utilizing it tho, some would say they're doing it too fast serving another Saiyan and another Freeza/Cooler right away. What would be the point of doing Goku/Vegeta counterparts? If they're the same it's boring, if they're different then may as well make them completly different characters anywayChuquita wrote:Alternate takes/counterparts to Gokû, Vegeta, and the others were what I was looking forward to the most with Uni 6. Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
As far as my two cents go, I'm glad they didn't do counterparts of Vegeta and Goku. It'd more than likely would have been an evil Goku and that dead horse has been beaten enough. I am curious to see if this Saiyan on the team of Champa is on par with that of SSG, because if he is and isn't actually a "SSG" that would be amazing. What if he had SSJ4? The possibilities are exciting to think about! I think this Saiyan will show Goku/Vegeta new powers/transformations outside of the SSJ/SSG class

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I'm not seeing a lot of talk about this bit, but i find it very interesting. I doubt Toyotaro would be allowed to come up with something related to Whis' origins on his own. And the way it's brought up here feels almost ...gratuitous? It's like they wanna hint at something, or just tease the readers. Maybe we'll actually learn more about Whis in the near future.Kuririn suggest playing shiritori: Whis goes with "jirujiru". Goku asks what that is and Whis says its a bird on his planet.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
There isn't really a better oppurtunity to bring SSJ4 design into 'new offiziul canon' than now, with this U6 Saiyan. But for some reason I dont think it will happen, Toei seems like they want to keep up the pretense that GT 'still matters', even if most of the hardcore and casual audience already considers it non-canonXeztin wrote:What if he had SSJ4?
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I don't know the reality but I'm not the one stating things as facts. In fact, what I can say with certainty is that the laziest thing Toriyama could have done was to not draw anything. Have you seen Universe 6's team? Are you saying the robot is a lazy design? Sure, the bear looks plain but it's not lazy anywhere. Maybe you should point out Cell got his horns blown off and now uses a weird armor/clothes, except you don't because you like the guy and let him pass. And maybe if you don't like him, maybe you are wrong because, by your logic, since most people like him, you shoul too. This leads to my next point.DI297 wrote:You dont know the reality either and most ppl think the same way I do so in any case what I'm saying makes more sense since this is not his first lazy design in super
I doubt you know the opinion of "most ppl" and even if you did, numbers don't validate opinions.
What other designs from Toriyama are "lazy" in Super? You mean Beers' twin brother and Whis' sister? Yeah... remember Namek? That planet is filled with Piccolos. So lazy of Toriyama...
Whether people react to it the same way or not is a different thing. You said Toriyama didn't put effort in creating Blue but if you break the transformation down, it makes perfect sense why it looks that way.sintzu wrote:It being simple is what made it into the icon that it is today but you can't do the exact same thing again and expect to get the same results.
I don't think they teased them, Goku and Vegeta were just chatting. What would the point be? Having Goku and Vegeta cheat? It wouldn't happen so the context of the conversation doesn't make sense if that were the purpose.Chuquita wrote:Same thing with teasing female saiyans last chapter and not delivering this chapter on it. Re: female saiyans
I never meant to imply characters having affairs. What I meant was it felt like a red herring because this is a monthly comic and why waste panels talking about something that isn't going to pay off later if you have such limited space? It felt like a Chekhov's gun situation. Female saiyans would be cool in general, but I'd be happy with just having at least 1 or 2 females on in the tournament. Representation.
Re: counterparts
Eh-heh, this is why I said I'm in the minority on that.
I would've had a lotta fun with counterparts for Gokû and Vegeta. I don't really care about the little bit that's been shown of Uni 6 so far. I enjoy what-ifs that revolve around characters, not about the lore; it's not stuff I'm interested in. Sorry everybody I just don't agree with you; the new characters we ended up with don't interest me at all. Little boy saiyan?--not even an adult!? A Not!Freeza right after we finally got through actual Freeza? Blech. I was genuinely disappointed and still feel like they wasted utilizing a mirror universe. Just have Uni 7 battle Uni 12 or something then if it's just gonna be unrelated characters they're fighting against.
The only upside is this saves me money because I'm not gonna bother buying VJump this month now that I know I'm not gonna get to see counterparts OR any new designs that I'd like.

But why are you dismissing female Saiyans from U6 having a role already? That little Saiyan could be a girl, his/her mother could be in the audience and do something when she sees her kid losing...there's nothing really saying that foreshadow was for naught and had no pay off, the arc isn't over.Chuquita wrote:Re: female saiyans

I'd like any of that inclusion of female saiyans to be true. I'll be thrilled if female saiyans do show up, or if the little boy saiyan is a little girl after all. I'm just all jaded right now because atm it looks like there's no females in the tournament at all. There's so many female characters in DBHeroes of all things, would it kill them to have had at least one woman in this tournament?
I really thought that Vegeta info dumping from Chapter 6 meant something beyond trivia and right now it's looking like it really was only trivia.
